BERTHIAUME, MILLETTE, ROBARGE posted by Naomi on Monday, January 1, 2001

I am looking for information on George Berthiaume. He was the son of Odillion and Florence Berthiaume. Odillion and Florence both died in Crookston, MN. In their obits in 1910 and 1916 George is listed as a resident of Grand Forks, North Dakota. George had a sister (first name unknown) who married a Noah Millette and resided in Crookston, MN. He also had two brothers by the names of Fred and Dilly. His occupation may have had something to do with the railroad or some sort of train? Please let me know if you can help. nkj@spacestar.net.

LOCKPORT, MCNIEL, PHILLIPS posted by Scott Jacob on Thursday, January 18, 2001

I am interested in the founders of Niagara, Grand Forks Co., ND who mostly migrated from Niagara Co., NY (hence the name). Of particular interest is Daniel Phillips who died at Niagara in early 1900s..

PHILLIPS posted by Scott Jacob on Thursday, January 18, 2001

Daniel Phillips, early settler of Niagara, Grand Forks Co., ND died there early 1900s. He founded Niagara along with several others from Niagara Co., NY in early 1880s. Any info?.

PHILLIPS posted by Jon Raymond on Thursday, January 18, 2001

Niagra is on the western border of Grand Forks County. The adjacent county is Nelson. Don't be surprised if your Phillips is in Nelson. I would recommend three sources. Search the usgenweb ND site, especially for U. of N.D. and N.D. State U. If you have a date of death, try ordering online a death certificate at vitalrec@state.nd.us. Contact the Red River Valley Historical Society in Fargo at rrvgs@fargocity.co..

OLSON posted by J Mag on Friday, January 19, 2001

Hello, I am looking for the birthplace of Ethel T. Olson daughter of Edward E. Olson and Betsey Anderson Olson. She was born between 1904 and 1895. They had migrated to North Dakota from either Roseau or Waseca Counties in Minnesota. By 1904, both their immediate family and her maternal Uncle Severt Braaten and his North DAkota bride Gena Dalby had relocated in Roseau County, Minnesota. Thanks in advance, best regards, and Happy New Year. It is okay to reply directly to the email address listed..

BRAATEN, OLSON posted by Jon Raymond on Friday, January 19, 2001

There are numerous Braaten's listed in the white pages for Grand Forks. I'd suggest a nice form letter of inquiry to those people. Braaten is not a common name in GF County. I'm not sure where Brent is. If it is close to the county line, expand you search into the neighboring county..

BRAATEN, OLSON posted by Jon Raymond on Friday, January 19, 2001

I checked the following site: http://aolsvc.maps.aol.com/travel/ The only Brent, ND, found is in Sheridan County. Unless there was a town of this name in GF County years ago that no longer exists, perhaps you should try looking there. I was raised in the GF area and do not recall a town of that name. But I would still try contacting the Braatens in GF City..
