EISNER, MAGER, MIKUSH, POSEIN, QUAST posted by Randi Bender on Thursday, November 18, 1999

Hello, New to list and anxious to search out the descendants of Bill Eisner and Julia(Julianna) Mager. Julia immigrated with her family to Cass Lake, Minnesota in 1910 from Russia. In 1916 the family moved to Millet, Alberta where her mother Florinteen MAGER died in 1918. She lived with her sister Natalie(Dolly) until her marriage to Bill. The date and place of marriage are unknown. Bill and Julia eventually ended up in Grand Forks. Julia had a memorable birth mark on the right side of her face, and it is beleived one of her sons, perhaps Bernard was blind. Only three possible names od children are known; Ruth, Albert, and Bernard. Julia d. 1976. Any possibilities would be welcomed! Thanks in advance for your help, Randi Saskatoon, SK., Canada

OHLHAUSER, OHLHEISER posted by Gayla Gray on Saturday, November 27, 1999

Patti, The name Ohlhauser with this spelling is my family. In my research I was told if Ohlhauser was spelled with an e instead of an a that signified they were Catholic. Not sure if this is try or not. Have you tried the ahsgr.org site? They have a wealth of information on Germans from Russia. If you send me some more information on your family I will look through my reseach and see if I have come across any of your relatives. Gayla Gray

OHLHEISER posted by Patti Nauta on Sunday, November 28, 1999

Hi and Thank-you for responding. My great great grandfather was a Francis Ohlheiser born around 1814 in Germany (possibly Baden --according to his death record filled out by his son). He married an Ann Breining. Francis immigrated to the US sometime before 1845 and then headed to Canada (Ontario). I have not been able to determine where he met his wife and where they were married. Their children were born in Canada (according to census information). I am also researching a couple other Ohlheiser names that I suspect may connect with my great great grandfather Francis as they lived and moved in the same circles. These other Ohlheiser's are: -Henry Ohlheiser (son of Peter Ohlheiser and Mary Feliner). Henry was born Aug. 12, 1842. He married Monica Zettle. They lived in the same area and both moved and spent some time in Ontario and North Dakota. -George Peter Ohlheiser (son of Ernest Ohlheiser and Rosina Henner) b Aug 8, 1816. George Peter married Catharine Fahrenkopf (wife 1) and then Philippina Fehner. I would appreciate any advice you can give me and would be thrilled if we connected somewhere. Once again, thank-you for responding and good luck in all your researching. Patti.

ALLEN, TOPPING, TUTTLE, WHIPPLE posted by Lynda Darby Ozinga on Monday, November 29, 1999

I am looking for any information on Ed & Mary Whipple, Ed & Lillian Whipple, Charles & Alice Whipple, their sisters Sophia R. Whipple & Daisy Permelia Whipple - in Grand Forks, ND between 1884-1900. They all arrived here together from ILlinois, we have found Charles moved to Minn, Ed to Canada, wonder what happened to Sophia & Daisy Whipple who probably married - we have no idea when, or what their married name would be! The Whipples' came to ND with relatives, Allens, & Tuttles, in the same time period. Also, Julia Allen married to unknown Topping. Any information appreciated!.
