MALONEY, Captain Hugh Edward, died at Grand Forks on or about 6-16-1897 (GF Plaindealer obit) buried from St. Michael's Church, Grand Forks, in Calvary Cemetery, Grand Forks. Looking for death record info listing the names of his parents. Evidently there is no civil death certificate but there might be a church record. He was born "near Montreal" in 1843.

CARLSON, TUPA posted by Ann Månsson on Tuesday, July 28, 1998

I am looking for information about sisters Gladys and Helen Carlson. They married brothers Steve and John Tupa. I have not birth dates for Gladys and Helen. However their parents were Oscar and Nellie Albertina Carlson. Helen was born in ND but Gladys might have been born in MN. Accoring to a passage written by Gladys and Helen´s brother Ferdy in "The Slope County Saga" the couples lived in Larimore. I am interested in getting in touch with possible children. Nellie Albertina's mother was my g-g grandmother's sister. I would be very happy if I could get in touch with distant relatives!

THOMPSON posted by Dianne Rabchak on Friday, August 7, 1998

Am researching two Thompson brothers, Ludvig (Louis) and Johan Gustav(Gus) that immigrated to Grand Forks, ND in 1891 from Norway. Gus ran a store in Grand Forks, married Hilda Anderson in 1898. They raised their family there and reitired in Minneapolis, MN. Louis was supposed to have farmed near there, but I have nothing on his years from immigrating until he shows up in Saskatchewan, Canada running a store at a little place called Ambles (no longer in existence). I believe other relatives from the same area in Norway include Stokmoe and Reinan names. Thank you in advance.

Searching for descendants of the John Mc Donald family who originally homesteaded near Inkster in the 1880's. John Mc Donald's second wife was my great aunt, Minnie Ellen Ryan (aka Nellie), daughter of George Duncan and Elizabeth (Ouderkirk) Ryan of the Langdon, Cavalier County, ND area. John and Nellie Mc Donald had at least 3 children, Phyllis, Sadie, and Laura. Phyllis married Zech Thomas and they had a farm in the Inkster area (could have been the original homestead). Phyllis and Zech had at least two children, Margurette and "Mack". Mack farmed the land when Zech died and Phyllis was still on the farm, with Mack, in the early 1970's. Margurette married Vern Fledderman and they had at least one daughter, Denise, who became Miss North Dakota in 1966. Denise later married Ron Schora. If anyone has any information on this family, or can tell me how I can find Mack, or Denise, whom I believe to be still living, PLEASE PLEASE let me know. I have completely lost track of this branch of my family and have been trying hard to find them. They are an important link to the history of the family. Any assistance will be most sincerely appreciated.
