William Lawrence Howell, 77, of Christiansburg,
Va., passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2009. He was preceded in death
by his father, William Jackson Howell; mother, Rhetta Aquilla Akers Howell;
sister, Iva Carroll; daughter-in-law, Linda G. Howell; and his first wife

He was a veteran, who served during the Korean Conflict,
and was wounded during combat.
He was the founder and owner of Howell's Auto Sales for
over 50 years where he repaired and sold countless vehicles for numerous

antique cars and trucks and his love of visiting car shows and cruise-ins.
He was also a racing fan and competitor in his early years. He shared his
knowledge and supported his sons, "Bo" and Tony, in their racing
achievements. He enjoyed going to the Floyd Country Store every Friday
night where he would listen and flatfoot to the music. He was very well
