Rushie Mae Dulaney Hylton, 95, of Richmond, formerly of Blacksburg, went peacefully to be with the Lord Tuesday, September 19, 2006.

She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, William A. "Bill" Hylton of Richmond, Claude E. and Nancy Hylton of Pinehurst, N.C.; grandchildren, Archie Lee Hylton, William Ham Hylton, Jane Hylton Winder, Christopher Graham Hylton; and four great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be conducted Sunday, September 24, 2006 at 2 p.m. in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg with Dr. Tommy McDearis officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, Blacksburg.

Charles Douglas (Doug) Hylton, 76, of Draper, Va., passed away Monday morning, June 30, 2008, in the Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Christiansburg, Va., on November 22, 1931, and was the son of the late Joshua and Odessa Sutphin Hylton of Salem, Va. He was also preceded into Heaven by his brother, Shannon Curtis Hylton.

He was a retired employee of Verizon and was a veteran having served in the Korean Conflict.

Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Helen V. Hylton, of Draper; daughter and son-in-law, Gloria Diann and Jim Cox, of Wytheville; son, Curtis Deneal (Chuck) Hylton, of Dublin; grandsons, Kelly and his wife, Frankie Meadows, of Wythe County, and SPC4 Army Reserve Christopher Meadows, of Wythe County; two greatgrandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Joshua Jr. and Millie Hylton, of Moneta, Va.; and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Opal and Don McCambridge, of Hiwassee, Edith and James Thomas, of Dublin, Mildred and James Smith, of Bedford, Pat Viers, of Dublin, Walter and Betty Viers, of Draper, and Pete and Treva Rogers, of Pulaski.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, July 4, 2008, from the Stevens Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Johnny Howlett officiating. Burial will follow in the Shiloh Cemetery, Pulaski County. Visiting will be Thursday evening, July 3, 2008, at Stevens Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Arrangements by Stevens Funeral Home, Pulaski, Va.

Alvah Kenneth Hylton, (Al), 81, of Blacksburg, Va., died Wednesday, December 24, 2003 at Heritage Hall, Blacksburg. Al was born in Montgomery Co. on May 3, 1922 to the late Elisha and Daisy Hylton. Al was preceded in death by his brothers, Joshua and Archie Hylton; his sisters, Toy Simmons, Hattie Howell, Ruby Lawrence, Avis Altizer, and Ardith Simmons. Al was a life-long member of St. Michael Lutheran Church, where he served on Council and as a Trustee. He also was a member of Prices Fork Grange and the Virginia State Grange, where he served in various leadership and officer positions for both organizations. Al retired from the Radford Arsenal with 33 years of service. He also served with the United States Marine Corps during W.W. II in the Pacific. Alvah is survived by his wife of 56 years, Thelma Price Hylton of Blacksburg; daughters and sons-in-law, Denise and Ken Krallman of Cincinnati, Ohio, Dianne and John Krallman of Blacksburg, Va.; son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Elaine Hylton of Ozark, Alabama; grandchildren, John and Kevin Krallman of Blacksburg, Kelli and Keith Krallman of Cincinnati, Paul, David and Andy Hylton of Ozark; sisters, Edith Kenley of Radford and Virginia Roop of Christiansburg.
