Pauline Burnette Connelly, 87 of Riner, reached her journeys end on Friday, October 19, 2012. God and all his infinite wisdom, love and grace, called her home. Pauline was of Christian faith and was a member of the Christiansburg Church of the Brethren. Pauline was a graduate of Auburn High School and a lifelong resident of Riner. Pauline worked most of her life as a caretaker of family members in need, including her mother and one brother until their passing. Pauline's interests included gardening, taking walks and spending time with her family. Pauline was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals for others. Pauline was a kind and gentle person who loved her church, family, and friends. She is preceded in death by her son, Jerry D. Connelly.

She is survived by her granddaughter, April Christ & husband Joshua; grandson, Jerry Connelly II; great-granddaughters, Addison Christ, Mara McPherson Connelly; sister; Neta B. Hamilton; sisters-in-law, Deanna Mallery & husband Gary, Toye Owens; nieces, Vicki Hawkins & husband Jerry, Sandra Hill & husband Patrick; nephews, James E. Burnette, Steve Hamilton; great-niece & nephew, Cortney & Ryan Hamilton.

Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Donald Peters officiating. Interment to follow in the White Rock Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Christiansburg Church of the Brethren, 310 S Franklin St, Christiansburg, VA 24073.
