Sarah is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Rudolph; sons and daughter-in-law, Ralph and Mary Smith, Paul Smith; grandchildren, Shane Smith, Erin Smith; sisters, Dolly Mays, Elva Danley, and Polly Lawson; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Sarah was a member of Edgemont Christian Church.

Sally worked hard all of her life as a housekeeper and was known and loved to all as "Maw Maw". She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Ward Gray Thompson of Riner; son and daughter-in-law, Daniel & Nancy Thompson; daughter and fiancé, Barbara Griffith and Glenn Hancock; daughter and son-in-law, Norma & William Mitchell; grandsons, Eric Griffith, Brian Griffith and Randall Mitchell; great grand-daughter, Briana Griffith and many nieces and nephews.

HARRIS, Ethel Smith, 87, of Christiansburg, passed away Thursday, December 28, 2000 at Montgomery Regional Hospital.

She was the daughter of the late William Bart and Lillie Alice Duncan Smith.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Noah Lee Harris; two brothers, William Thurman and Alfred Smith; three sisters, Icie Bishop, Ella Martin and Rosa Mabry.

Survivors are sons and daughters-in-law William "Bill" and Doris Harris of Pulaski, Asa L. and Jeanette Harris of Livonia, Mich., Dennis Ray Harris of Garden City Beach, S.C.; sister, Elizabeth S. Gallimore of Indian Valley; grandchildren, Tim Harris, Jeff Harris, Scott Harris, Brian Harris; great-grandchildren, Kayla Harris, Sarah Harris, Ashley Harris, Jonathan Harris; many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the Indian Creek Primitive Baptist Church in Willis with Elder Paul Williams and Elder Jay Harris officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call Saturday at the Maberry Funeral Home, Floyd, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

Mary Elizabeth Smith Gallimore, 91, of Indian Valley, VA, was born in Floyd County on July 14, 1918 to William Barton and Lillie Duncan Smith. She passed away March 19, 2010 at Trinity Mission Nursing Home in Hillsville, VA.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Troy Gallimore; Sons, Norman, Robie, and Basil Gallimore. She was also preceded in death by One Daughter-In-Law, Nancy Gallimore; and One Grandson, Robert Gallimore.

She is survived by One Daughter and Husband, Phyllis and Lacie Cox of Radford. Also, survived by Sons and Wife: Hiley Gallimore of Radford, Ramsey and Lucille Gallimore of Radford, and Bruce Gallimore of Indian Valley. Two Daughter-In-Laws, Loveline Gallimore of Indian Valley and Wanda Gallimore of Austinville. She is survived by 13 Grandchildren; 13 Great Grandchildren; and One Great Great Grandson.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 22, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Vinton Quesenberry and Mrs. Mary Helen Quesenberry officiating. Interment will follow at the Captain George Quesenberry Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 22, 2010 from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

Hobert Marshall Williams, 96, of Galax, Virginia passed away Thursday, January 29, 2015 in the Waddell Nursing Home.
He is the last member of a family of 12 children born to George and Lola Williams of Galax. The family consist of 8 sons and 4 daughters. He was preceded in death by his wife Zola Smith Williams.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Roger and Linda Williams; two grandsons and spouses Rod and Loretta Williams; Nathan and Amanda Williams and one granddaughter and husband Amanda and Joey Beppler ; 6 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Hobert worked at the old Fries Cotton Mill and Burlington Mills. Later he was a car salesman for White Chevrolet Sales. Afterwards he had his own used car business. He enjoyed being in the beautiful Blue Ridge mountains and especially along the New River. He enjoyed old time music playing both the guitar and banjo. Hobert served in the Army during World War II.

Ila Mae Smith Reed, 93, of Willis, our precious mother, peacefully departed this life and went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, November 20, 2016 at Skyline Nursing & Rehab Center in Floyd, Va.

Mrs. Reed was born June 10, 1923 in Floyd County to the late Alfred Cornelius Smith and Icie Florence Smith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Wilbert Haven Reed; sisters, Zola Williams and Irene Duncan; brothers, Alsaberry Smith, Loman Smith and Edgar Smith; grandson, Tony Wood.

Mr. and Mrs. Reed moved to Bassett where she worked at Bassett-Walker Knitting for 10 years before retiring and moving back to Willis in 1983. She loved gardening, canning, quilting and cooking for her family. She loved the Lord and often talked about how much she had been blessed.

Left to cherish her memory are her six daughters and sons-in-law, Faye Weeks and Gene, Fern Belcher and Michael, Oleda Phillips, Vicki Bond and Alex all of Willis, Joan Quesenberry and Dale of Indian Valley, Louise Reed and Max of Bassett; three sons, and daughters-in-law, Dale Reed of Willis, Calvin Reed and Brenda of Halifax, Bennett Reed and Judy of Bassett; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Sue Quesenberry and Dexter of Pennsylvania, Alma Quesenberry, of Radford, Mozelle Phillips of Willis, Martha Farmer of Riner; one brother, Ray Lincoln Smith and Carrie of Rockwood, Tenn.; very special sister-in-law, Lorraine Smith of Riner; 18 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren, and several step grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at Maberry Funeral Home with Pastor Roy Turpin and Pastor Shannon Hicks officiating with interment at Beaver Creek Cemetery. On January 5, 2015, Loman Alfred Smith, 83 of Riner, my wonderful husband and father of our children went home to heaven with his loving family at his bedside. After a very long battle with ALS, his struggle ended. He will forever be missed by all but will always be with us in spirit. He was a USSN Veteran, served aboard the USS Ashland LSDI, Seaman First Class and did numerous tours including the Carribean, Panama, Cuba, West Coast, Greenland and a six-month tour of the Mediterranean. He retired from Lynchburg Foundry and drove for the Abbott Bus lines for 14 years. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Lorraine Duncan Smith, his angelic caregiver. Also left to cherish his memory are daughters, Rhonda Brown (Harold) of Bramwell, WV and Angela Smith of Deerfield Beach, FL; son and daughter-in-law, Gary Smith (Judy) of Linwood, NC; Grandchildren, Amanda Smith, H. Ray Brown II, Elizabeth Brown Tillery and Richard Tillery; Step Grandson, Eric Aker(Whitney); Step Great Grandchildren, Carson Aker and Cathan Aker; Brother, Ray Smith(Carrie).
