During the Great Depression of the 1930's the Virginia W.P.A. (Works Progress Administration) conducted a survey of historical sites in the state of Virginia. The following items give a unique insight into Shenandoah County during that time. It is not known how many of these sites are still standing, although it is certain that some are not. Keep in mind, while reading, that all references to "the present" mean 1937.
