Surviving are two sisters, Jocie T. Shelton, Christiansburg; Gladys T. Quesenberry, Willis; one brother-in-law, Truman W. FLOYD, Va. Stella Irene Phillips, 79, passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2018. She was born on September 14, 1938, in Filbert, W.Va. to the late Eli H. and Manilla L. Phillips.

She is survived by a brother, Vergil Phillips (Hazel); sister, Kathleen Hicks; brother-in-law, Ralph French; sister-in-law, Frances McDaniel; numerous nieces and nephews and extended family.

A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 23, 2018, at the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kenneth Poston officiating. Chester Collins Phillips, 78, of Copper Valley, an almost five year resident of Radford Health & Rehab, died peacefully on June 21, 2012. His wife of 61 years, Edith, predeceased him by a mere four months, and he has joined her at the Gates of Heaven. His body and voice have been healed from the stroke, and they are strolling the Streets of Gold and chatting for the first time in nearly five years. They are both sadly missed by their children, Mary and Gordon Harman, Larry and Ann Phillips, and Nancy and Jeff Gallimore; grandchildren, Dale and Nancy Harman, Christopher and Emily Harman, Jennifer and Dale Smith, Jason and April Phillips, and Joshua Gallimore; great-grandchildren, Brady and Jonah Harman, Cody Smith, Chloe and Ethan Phillips; stepgreat-grandchildren, Georgia and Max Wimmer; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bobby Phillips, Roger Phillips, Clarence and Bea Phillips, Jackie and Alice Phillips, Ronald Phillips, Elwood and Jo Phillips, Timmy and Sandra Phillips, and Oleda Phillips; sisters and brothers-in-law, Geneva and Ronald Smith, Reba and Dorsie Montgomery; special sisters-in-law, Norma Graham and Pearl Hodges; and many special friends, too numerous to mention.
Chester retired from Lynchburg Foundry, where he worked for 32 years. He was the neighborhood handyman and mechanic, helping anyone who needed assistance with anything. He had a green thumb and loved gardening, and he proudly displayed his thousands of Christmas lights for all to enjoy. Chester was truly loved by all. The family would like to thank the staff of Radford Health & Rehab for their loving care for the past five years, not only for him but for his entire family.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 23, 2012, at the Indian Valley Pentecostal Holiness Church, 3747 Indian Valley Road, Indian Valley, VA with the Rev. James Walker and the Rev. Marvin Wade officiating. Interment to follow in White Rock Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 22, 2012, at the Indian Valley Pentecostal Holiness Church.

SIMPKINS, Treva Phillips, 80, of Willis, passed away Tuesday, September 24, 1996, at the home of a daughter.

Survivors are two sons and daughters-in-law, Maurice and Christine Simpkins, Floyd, Rollie and Ruby Simpkins, Willis; four daughters and sons-in-law, Maxine and Melvin Hollandsworth, Irene and Kirby Duncan, Betty and David Duncan, Diane and Gene Bishop, all of Willis; two sisters, Effie Mitchell, Bluefield, W.Va., Winnie Meredith, Hiwassee; four brothers, Tucker Phillips, Lakeland, Fla., Calvin Phillips, Mount Airy, N.C., Vernon Phillips, Bluefield, W.Va., Ted Phillips, Hillsville; 15 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.

FLOYD-Grace Velma Bishop Phillips passed away Tuesday, October 14, 2003 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was born May 12, 1907 to James Thomas and Mary Caldwell Bishop, and was predeceased by her husband, Gary Randolph Phillips, son, Alvin "Sonny: Phillips and three sisters and two brothers. She was a member of Topeco Church of the Brethren, Topeco Homemakers Club, Floyd Rebekah Lodge #77, RSVP and AARP. She is survived by two daughters and son-in-law; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and six nephews and wives. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 16, at Maberry Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Mike Varner, Reverend Lawrence Nuckolls and Elder Thomas Mann officiating. Interment will follow in Jacksonville Cemetery with graveside services by Floyd Rebekah Lodge #77.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Gay Phillips; grandchildren, Sammy Phillips and wife Marsha, Tonya Hicks; great-grandchildren Samantha Phillips, Brandon Reed, Randy Reed, Austin Reed, Destiny Hicks; sweet nieces Ilectris Linkous, Goldie Sutton; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 9, 2007 at the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel, Floyd, with Rev. Murrell Hedrick officiating. Interment will follow at Big Sand Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday January 8, 2007 at Maberry Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Mrs. Ida May Phillips, wife of C D Phillip's, who died late Thursday night at her home near Snowville, were held yesterday at 2 o'clock from the New Salem Christian Baptist churchildren with, the Rev; Golden Harris and the Rev Landon Harris in charge.

Mrs. Phillips prominent in her community passed away after a lingering illness. 

She is survived by her husband, two sons, Rudolph B. Phillips and Troy L Phillips of Snowville; three daughters, Mrs. Freeman Dishon and Miss Ruby Phillips, of Snowville, and Mrs. Archie Dishon, of Pulaski; a brother W E Phillips, of Snow Mile, and a sister, Mrs. W L Gardner, of Riner.

Interment was in the family cemetery.
