passed away peacefully, Monday, August 10, 1998, at Salem Health and
Rehabilitation Center. He was born in the White Rock section of Floyd County,
on August 27, 1927, to the late Beauford David and Ida Bell Reed Duncan. He
was the youngest of eight children and was preceded in death by four brothers
and one sister. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth Slusher Duncan, of
Blacksburg; two brothers, Elisha B. Duncan of Willis, and Elbert A. Duncan of
Christiansburg; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be
conducted Thursday, August 13, 1998 at 11 a.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home
Chapel with the Rev. Gary Schroeder officiating. Interment will follow in the
Jacksonville Cemetery, Floyd at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Roy Turpin officiating.
Friends may call anytime after12 noon Wednesday, and the family will receive
friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home,
Blacksburg. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the
White Rock Cemetery fund, c/o Mrs. Ellen Spence, 2145 White Rock Road N.W.,
Floyd, Va. 24091 or Living Memorial Fund at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church,
