GILLETT posted by on Saturday, October 9, 1999

I have reason to believe that Edward GILLETT, Lake County Census 1820 (Geauga CO), (Kirtland) and Abraham GILLETT (same location of data, listed one after the other) are brothers and that Edward is my G G Grandfather. This would be confirmed if one of his sons, aged about nine (9) yr. old is named Alonzo. Can anyone confirm this or disprove? Does anyone know where and how I can get a copy of the film this data was extracted from? Please respond to with any comments or information. I would be happy to supply down stream information on Alonzo Gillett and his migration to Michigan.

ROGERS posted by Hugh Curry on Saturday, October 16, 1999

I have a certified copy of the death record of my g-g-grandfather, Artemus ROGERS, transcribed from Lake County Record of Deaths, Volume 1, Page 98, # 45. He died 17 January 1882, Age 68, Place of Death - Painesville, Ohio, Place of Birth Painesville, Ohio. This place of birth has to be a transcription error, as we know he came from New York state. Is there anyone who could look up the original Record of Deaths volume and see what that says for place of birth? Thanks.
