I am researching my gr-grandmother's family. Her name was Julia Candace SNELL, her first husband was John LEACH. They had twin daughters, when John died she married my gr-grandfather, a Baptist Minister Winfield Scott COLE. Her mother was Sarah STCLAIR and I believe Sarah's father was Matthew St. Clair. She was born in Connecticut and the only St. Clair in the Conn. census was a Matthew St. Clair. I don't know Sarah's mother's name. I have no knowledge of the twin daughters except I believe they lived in Michigan because Julia was on a visit to them when she dies and was buried there. W.S. is buried in Santa Cruz, Calif. beside his daughter, Elizabeth Nerginia Cole INMAN. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Researching the VALLEAU Family. Theodore Valleau came to Painesville and Mentor with a large family in the 1830's. The family is not in the 1860 census, having moved to Michigan and points west. I am really interested in one David Valleau born in Painesville about 1855. I have not been able to find a record of his birth. The family story says he was not originally a Valleau but his father died and his mother remarried, and the children took on the new father's name. I have not found a David born in this time frame with a corresponding death of a male old enough to be his father.
