Gilbert M. WOOD ( b. 1826 NY) married in 1868 to Emma Annette LOVELAND (b.April01, 1851 in Madison Lake County, Ohio). They were married in Oakland County, Michigan. Was Gilbert listed in the 1850 census of Lake county?. At 24, was he alone, with other WOOD family members, or living with another family. I can not ascertain from which county of NY he was born. I noted a recent post by Kathy Richardson Harig refering to an Ascha WOOD, wife of Capt. Joseph Richardson. Could she be Gilbert's aunt?

COLGROVE, FIEDLER, HATHAWAY, ROPER, SOMERS posted by Toni Richard Turk on Saturday, October 31, 1998

Emma/Emily ROPER was also known as Hazel Minetta ROPER. She married (1) 30 May 1887 Homer A. SOMERS (they divorced). She married (2) 28 Nov 1893 in Lake Co., OH, Jerome (Romeo) HATHAWAY (they divorced). She married (3) 30 Oct 1902 to George W. COLGROVE. They are both located on the 1910 & 1920 Lake Co. censuses in Painesville - first at 159 Mentor Ave. and second at 123 Erie St. Emma was born in 1870 and George was born about 1866. Emma/Hazel is stated to have subsequently married (4) James Fielder about 1940, presumably after the death of George. The following are the questions that I am trying to resolve: (1) Did the first referenced marriage occur in Lake Co.?; (2) Did the third referenced marriage occur in Lake Co.?; (3) What was the exact date and place of the fourth referenced marriage?; and finally (4) When and where did Emma/Hazel die [sometime after 1940]? It is my belief that all of these events occurred in Lake Co. Can anyone help? I am willing to share all information.
