HILDRETH, WASHBURN posted by Dean Hildreth on Sunday, April 12, 1998

Daniel HILDRETH married Sophia WASHBURN in Lake County, Ohio, 10 May 1842. Sometime after that family legend has it that Daniel HILDRETH was drowned at sea. It is beleived that this accident occurred in Lake Erie. Daniel had at least one son, my g grandfather, John Wesley HILDRETH who was born in 1844/45. Does anyone in Lake county know of a drowning of a seaman named HILDRETH during this time period? Does anyone know of a newsaper record that might have carried a story on this occurence? MALLORY, MCCORMICK, MILLER posted by Matthew Lipsey on Monday, April 20, 1998

I am in search of any information pertaining to Henry W. MCCORMICK (b. 1799, Ovid, NY--d. 1883, Chesaning, MI). His parents were David MCCORMICK (b. abt 1762, Chester Co., PA--d. 1838, Seneca Co., NY) and Sally MILLER (b. abt 1767). Henry possibly moved from NY to Tuscarawas Co., OH, and then to Lake Co. However, we know that Henry was in Lake Co., between 1850-1860. At that time, his wife's name was "Waity," also written as "Weighty." In November of 1873 he married Maria Adelaide MALLORY (b. 1852, Painseville, Lake Co., OH). Their children were: Paul, Bertha L., Charles, and Mercy. Mercy is my direct line. Any information you can provide is appreciated. Thank you.

MALLORY, MCCORMICK, ROOD posted by Matthew Lipsey on Monday, April 20, 1998

I am in search of any information pertaining to Aaron S. MALLORY (b. 1819, OH) and Lucina M. ROOD (b. possibly in Vermont). They were married on 14 September 1846 in Lake Co., OH. I have not been able to find them in the 1850 census. And we believe Lucina may have died young, seeing as how Aaron eventually moves to Chesaning, MI and, in 1880, is married to a different woman. We believe Lucina M. (ROOD) MALLORY is the mother of Maria Adelaide MALLORY (b. Nov. 1852, Painseville, Lake Co., OH) who marries Henry W. MCCORMICK in Chesaning, MI, in 1873. We don't know anything about Aaron S. MALLORY's parents, or Lucina M. (ROOD) MALLORY's. Any assistance with these elusive individuals is most appreciated. Thank you!

ALLEN, BARNES, BURLINGAME, TANNER, VARNEY posted by Beth Bourque on Wednesday, April 29, 1998

Abigail M. BARNES b. 1-9-1827 in Italy, NY married Wm. H. BURLINGAME 11-25-1852 in Kirtland, OH. She died 11-29-1859, we think in Ohio. Wm. then married Lucia VARNEY and settled in Allegan County, Michigan. Searching for data on Abigail's parents and more information about Nancy J. BARNES b. 7-27-1834 who married Ephriam S. ALLEN. Were these two women sisters? Does anyone know where Abigail is buried? Nancy J., Ephriam, and Wm. seemed to have moved to MI as part of a group which also included the TANNER family. Happy to exchange info. Thanks.
