Archibald A. MAIN - Lake Co. Ohio, 1840 - I am searching for the parents of Archibald MAIN. He was born 28 Jul 1809 in NJ. He first shows up with family in the 1840 census Lake Co. but after research I believe his dad moved the family to Ohio while he was young. I need to link him to other Main people listed in earlier censuses.

I am researching PETERSON, LAUTHERAN (McLAUTHERAN), FOX and ROBERTS. Thomas Rockwell PETERSON married Katherine LAUTHERAN in Painesville on Oct. 25, 1862. They had four children; William, George, Thomas and Eliza who was my great grandmother. They lived off and on in Lake co and Erie Co ., PA. Eliza married Samuel FOX in about 1885 in Lake Co. Samuel's parents were supposed to be John and Henrietta (maiden name , ROBERTS), FOX. I have no proof on this. Thomas PETERSON had a brother who lived in Perry Twp. His name was Cyrus and his wife was Esther PETERSON. Their children were;Julia , Andrew, Elida, Cyrus Jr., twins Philo and Milo and Elnora. any information on any of these families would be greatly appreciated.

Am searching for any information regarding Sallie Elizabeth SMITH / DAVIS along with her son Lester, nicknamed Buck DAVIS. Sallie was born April 1, 1890 in Keyser, West Virginia and Buck, her son, was born approximately 1911 also in Keyser, WV. Sallie had other children in Keyser, Eloise, born 1913 and John born 1915. Son Buck had gotten into trouble of some sort and Sally moved to Painesville, Ohio (Lake county) some time in the late 1920's. The parents of Sallie were James Caleb Davis, born August 14, 1854, and Emma Frances Davis was born May 25, 1866, both from West Virginia. Sallie is my grandmother. I know this is a big long shot.

Search for my uncle Lester DAVIS (Nicknamed: Buck). He came to Painesville, Lake County about 1925 from Keyser, Mineral County) West Virginia. Buck was brought by his mother Sallie Elizabeth SMITH (DAVIS) Buck was born about 1911 in Keyser, WV. His siblings, Katherine Eloise and John William were left in Keyser and raised by their maternal grandparents, James Caleb and Emma Frances Davis. Any information would sure be appreciated.

I am looking for the parents of Henry Dwight BECKWITH, born 12 April 1817, in Concord, Lake County, Ohio. He married Jane G. RUNDELL 10 October 1838. Henry moved to LaSalle County, Illinois in 1852 and died there 8 March 1904. The children were: Laura Jane (my ancestor), Martha A., Susan A., and George. Any info most welcome.

Phineas DOWNING, (b 1904 in CT) moved to Leroy/Painesville area, married Lucinda HANKS (m. abt. 1825) moved to MI where they had 3 children: Wilford DOWNING (b 1826), Electa DOWNING (b 1828), and Betsey DOWNING (b. 1830). He later returned to Lake County with the children and married Candace BATES in 1842. He and Candace had a son, Eugene DOWNING (b abt 1851). Eugene married Emma NIGHMAN in 1877 and they had 7 children: James, Herbert, Carris, Maude, Claude, Josie and Jessie. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Seeking information about Paul Douglas BARNES, probably born 1888-98 near Willoughby, Ohio. Relatives recollect Paul had a sister, Marie, and at least one brother, Leonard. Paul Douglas BARNES moved to California briefly, married, and had a son. His sister, Marie, married Unknown COFFELT and lived in California and Oregon. Leonard BARNES moved to British Honduras (now Belize) and owned a mahogany ranch. Would be interested in any family links because we know nothing of Paul's parents except that they lived in Willoughby, Ohio. Thanks.

Looking for information on John P. OVIATT, b abt 1792 in Conn, d abt 1851 in Concord, Lake County. He was listed as early as 1820 in the Census for Lake County. Children: Andrew C., Flora S., Orlow G., John P. and Hannah - wife: Hannah ?. The 3 sons migrated in the early 1850's to Boone County, Iowa. Willing to share a great deal of information and would like to discover the parents of John P. Oviatt.

I am researching the following families who lived in Lake County from 1840 on: Ebenezer, Joseph, and William Berry RICHARDSON; James M. BARNES and his sons Eli A. BARNES, Cyrus BARNES, and James B. BARNES, as well as these maternal lines: SIMMONS, PHILLIPS, HUNT, MELLEN, WOOD, Ebenezer and Capt.Joseph RICHARDSON lived in the area called "The Plains," the area along Lake Shore and Lost Nation called Willobee in 1833. Capt.Joseph served in the War of 1812 and built one of the first saw mills in the county in 1835. He is buried in Mentor with his wife Ascha WOOD. James M. BARN(E)S owned and operated Mentor House Hotel and ran carriages from the depot in Mentor to the resorts on Little Mountain. He is buried in Evergeen Cemetery with his wife Arminda SIMMONS BARNES. Hannah MELLEN BERRY RICHARDSON, Ebenezer's wife had a son, Rufus BERRY who married Caroline SIMMONS daughter of Horace SIMMONS, the son of Peleg SIMMONS, a Rev War soldier, and one of the first settlers of Willoughby. Ebenezer is buried in Lost Nation Cemetery. Would gladly correspond with all researching these names. I was born and raised in Painesvile, Lake Co, OH.
