13 Jun 1835, Virginia Herald, pg. 3, col. 4:
"LAND for Sale,
Having determined to move to the South, I will sell my FARM, lying in the county of Stafford, on Aquia Run, about eleven miles from Aquia, and thirteen from Falmouth, containing near 400 ACRES. There is a comfortable Dwelling House good Barn and other necessary outhouses, all in good repair. This Farm is peculiarly adapted to the growth of Clover, Wheat, Indian Corn, &c. There are about 70 acres of good Meadow Land, a good…(next line unreadable)…ory (probably Hickory), Poplar, Walnut, &c. It is as well watered as any Farm in Virginia, and has on it a first rate mill seat, on a never failing stream. There is not a more healthy situation in the State, nor one that has better water—suffice it to say, that few Farms combine as many advantages. I will take in exchange, young Negroes, at fair prices. If not sold by the first of October, I will rent for a term of years. Persons wishing to purchase, will apply to the Subscriber, living on the premises. Possession will be given the 1st of October.
WILLIAM S. STERNE.
Walnut Hill, June 10, 1835."
