2 Jun 1880, Fredericksburg Newspaper, pg. 3, col. 2:
"Treasure Trove.
Rhodie Shaklett, son of Mr. Richard Shacklett, while grubbing on his father’s
place last Friday, near Rock Hill, Stafford county, Va., dug up two water
buckets full of ancient gold and silver coins. Their real value has not yet been
ascertained. This is the second or third instalment of this class of coins that
have been dug up in Stafford since the war."
