Charles J. Taylor was born in Grenola, Kansas, and died Oct. 16, 1982, in a Valley hospital. He moved to Phoenix 18 years ago from Roswell, N.M., served in the Army during World War II and received an honorary award from NASA for work on Apollo 8 and 11. He had been a quality control assurance officer of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration and lived in Tempe. Priscilla Chase Thayer, 75, a daughter of Phoenix pioneers Ezra and Cora Thayer, died Wed., Oct. 20, 1982, in a Valley sanitarium. Miss Thayer was born in Phoenix and graduated from Phoenix Union High School and Phoenix Junior College. She also graduated from the University of Arizona where she was a member of Alpha Phi Sorority. She served on the Women's Auxiliary to Good will Industries of Arizona nad was an accountant in Long Beach, CA, until moving back to Phoenix shortly before her death. Scottsdale -- John E. Theriault, Sr., 86, a retired electrical engineer with Detroit Edison Co., died Dec. 24, 1982, at his residence. Mr. Theriault, of 8343 E. He received his bachelors degree from Penn State University and his masters degree from Purdue University. Mr. Thornhill commuted between Phoenix and Pasadena, CA, where he was an engineer and technical assessment manager of the photovoltaics program for the Jet Propulsion Labs. TONEY, Martin

Martin Toney, 68, of 4016 N. 12th Ave., died Feb. 4, 1982, in his home. He was a retired assistant engineer for structures for the state of Arizona. Mr. Toney, who came to Arizona in 1941 from his native New York, served with the Arizona Department of Transportation for 34 years before becoming head of the structures group in 1971. During his time with the group, he was involved in such projects as the Cameron Bridge over the Colorado River, the Pinto Creek and Queen Creek Bridges and Superstition Freeway structures. Mr. Toney graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, N. Y. He was a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers. Survivors include his daughters, Karen Sue Wood, San Diego, CA, and Carol Lynn Ezell, Des Moines, Iowa; a sister, Julia M. Toney, Phoenix; and a granddaughter, Jennifer Ann Ezell. She was a graduate of Gilbert High School and attended Northern Arizona University. She worked as a chef for the University of Alaska and the State Hospital in Yuba City, CA, and served missions to San Diego, Alaska, and Los Angeles for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Maria T. Toth, 68, a homemaker who was born in Hungary and moved to Arizona in 1969 from Detroit, Michigan, died Thursday, September 30, 1982, in a Valley hospital. Attorney Roy B. Trelstad, 89, of 3135 Grand Ave., died Nov. 18, 1982, at a Phoenix hospital. He was born in Grand Forks, N. D., and moved to Arizona from Washington. A graduate of the Kent School of Law in Chicago, Mr. Trelstad was a member of the Washington State Bar Association. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 11 in Seattle and served as an Army lieutenant in World War I. Youngtown -- C. I. Tucker, 80, of Youngtown, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Glendale for 30 years, died December 28, 1981, in Oregon City, Oregon, where he had been visiting his son. Mr. Tucker was born in Huntington, Indiana, and came to Arizona 40 years ago. After his retirement in 1974, he served as an interim pastor and guest speaker at Baptist churches throughout Arizona. Tucker received his doctorate of divinity from Linda Vista Baptist Bible College in San Diego, California, and also had attended Fort Wayne Bible Institute in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was a founder of Southwest Baptist College in Phoenix and California Baptist Theological Seminary in Los Angeles. He had served as vice president, executive secretary and board of managers treasurer for the Arizona Baptist Convention. Survivors include his children, Marie McCABE and Robert; two brothers; two sisters; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
