Services for Pauline Wade, a homemaker, were in Heritage Funeral Chapel. Mrs. Wade died Monday, Oct. 25, 1982, in a Valley hospital. She was born in Vardaman, Mississippi, and moved to Arizona from Washington. She moved to Youngtown after living in Arizona five years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Sun City. Mesa -- Hortense G. Wagner, 84, an Arizona resident eight years, died Dec. 8, 1982. She was born in Springfield, IL, and moved to Arizona from Nebraska. WAGONER, Donald F.

Donald F. Wagoner, 59, who served in the Marines during World War II, died Dec. 20, 1982, in Phoenix General Hospital. Mr. Wagoner, 3724 W. Mercer Lane, was born in Toledo, Ohio, and moved to Arizona 12 years ago from Ohio. He had been a salesman in the janitorial supply business and was a member of the VFW. Survivors include his wife, Ingrid; daughters, Kim Wagoner, Phoenix, Jane Dieter, Waterville, Ohio, and Suzanne Adkins, Bowling Green, Ohio; and nine grandchildren. WAITE, Joy William

St. Johns -- Joy William Waite, 70, who was branch president of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints here, died Nov. 25, 1982, at his home. Mr. Waite was a lifelong Arizona resident and retired from the Arizona Highway Department. He was past president of the St. Johns Rotary, the St. Johns Irrigation Commission and the Apache County Museum. Services were at the St. Johns Stake Center. WAITE, Ward M.

Sun City -- Services for Ward McDermand Waite, 67, of 12226 Pebble Beach Drive, a five-year resident here, will be at St. Christopher Episcopal Church. Mr. Waite, who died Dec. 4, 1982, at his home, was an engineer for Kaiser Engineers for 31 years and worked in that capacity in Argentina, Brazil and Venezuela. He was born in Flint, Michigan, and moved to Sun City from Glendora, California. Mr. Waite was a Mason, an Elk and a member of the Sun Sky Kiwanis Club and Oakmont Men's Club here. He was a veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Constance; son, Ward, Jr.; daughter, Lynn; one sister and five grandchildren. Menke Funeral Home made arrangements. Mesa -- Clarence N. Wakefield, 89, a World War I veteran, died Dec. 3, 1982, at a Valley hospital. Mr. Wakefield, of 51 S. 48th St., was born in Studley, Kansas, and moved to Arizona from Wichita, Kansas, 25 years ago. He is survived by his niece, Vella M. Miller, and nephew, C. M. Allen. Thelma Walker, 78, of 7742 N. 12th St., retired educator for the State Board of Cosmetology and co-founder of the Arizona Barber College, died Feb. 3, 1982, in John C. Lincoln Hospital. WEBB, Loran Reed

Loran Reed Webb, 81, a one-time road construction superintendent for the U.S. Indian Service, died Nov. 26, 1982, in Mesa. He was also a former carpentr and apartment owner, owned and operated the Daze Transfer and Storage Co. At age 72 he received his real estate license. He lived in Arizona all his life. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Survived by daughters, Elaine Brooks, Florine Webb, Marie Lewis, Betty Faye Bostic; sons, Reece, E. WEBB, Rockwell

Prescott -- Rockwell I. Webb, 77, a Prescott businessman and civic leader for more than 50 years, died Nov. 17, 1982, at Yavapai COmmunity Hospital. He was born in El Paso, Texas, and moved to Prescott in 1929 when he became a salesman and district manager for Goodyear Rubber & Tire Co. He later operated the Webb Motor Co., a Ford dealership, for 25 years. In 1967 he founded the Roxie Webb Inc. and for 12 years sold stocks through the Midwest Stock Exchange. Mr. Webb was a member of the Prescott School Board for 11 years and an organizer of the Chamber of Commerce. He was past president of the Rotary Club, a Paul Harris Fellow, a member of the Smokie People and a director of Bagdad Copper Co. He also was a board member and president of the Salvation Army anad the American Cancer Society. Mr. Webb was an Elk state president in 1939 of the Arizona Automobile Association, member of the YMCA, president and organizer of the Prescott Gun Club and a sustaining member of the Prescott Jaycees. He was a Mason, a Shriner and a member of the Grand Canyon Council of Boy Scouts. He is survived by his wife, Harriette; daughter, Nancy Webb Ruskin; son, Rockwell; a sister and four grandchildren. Mr. Weeks was born in Stoneham, Massachusetts, and moved to Camp Verde 18 years ago from California. Mrs. Weesen had been a member of the 11th Ward for 21 years and was active in church auxiliaries. She died January 5, 1982, in Mes Lutheran Hospital. WEINGARTNER, Gary D.

Prescott -- Gary D. Weingartner, 43, a music teacher at Yavapai Community College and owner of Prescott Musicstall, died Dec. 24, 1982, at Yavapai Community Hospital. Mr. Weingartner was born in New Castle, Pennsylvania, moved to Scottsdale in 1953 and to Prescott in 1975. He was a graduate of Scottsdale High School and received bachelor's and master's degrees in music education from Arizona State University. He taught music in high schools in Payson, Patagonia, Bisbee, Prescott and Chino Valley. He was also an organist at Trinity Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his wife, Betty Jane; daughter, Carol; sons, William and David; parents, John and Evelyn; two sisters and a brother and a grandmother. He was a graduate of Boston College and had authored four volumes of Who's Who in Thoroughbred Racing. Edward Michael Welsh, II, 82, who worked 20 years as an electrical engineer for the State of New York, died Dec. 20, 1982, in Maryvale Samaritan Hospital. He was born in Manhattan, New York, and moved to Prescott Valley in 1979 from Rensselaer, N. Y. He moved to Phoenix two months ago. He was a member of the New York State Association of Highway Engineers, the Civil Service Employees Association, the Independent Order of Odd Fellows and Arizona Association of Retired persons. He is survived by his daughter, Mae Schievone; sons, Edward III, Gary, Paul and Arthur Welsh and Mel Kelsey; a sister; 18 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. WENDLETON, Parvin A.

Sun City -- Parvin A. Wendleton, 75, who moved here from Kansas City, MO, three years ago, died Nov. 30, 1982. Mr. Wendleton worked in the maintenance department of a General Motors plant in Missouri. He was born in Bates County, MO, was a Mason and served in the Army in World War II. Survived by his wife, Alice; three brothers, Roy, Lloyd and Ivan, all of Missouri; and three sisters, Audrey Church of California, Thelma Sharp of Missouri and Ruby Moore of Kansas. Interment Sunland Memorial Park. 12/2/1982.

WENKE, Dr. Leo Louis

Sun City -- Dr. Leo Louis Wenke, 77, a general practitioner for 15 years in Great Bend, Kansas, and for 17 years in Healdsburg, California, died Dec. 7, 1982, in Boswell Memorial Hospital. Dr. Wenke, who moved here in 1971, was born in Kansas and was a graduate of the University of Kansas Medical School. He was a veteran of World War II and was a member of the American Legion. Survivors include his wife, Claire; daughter, Charlotte Descalakis; and a sister, Elizabeth Miller of Kansas. Mass was at St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church. WESCHE, Arnold

Arnold Wesche, 74, a South Dakota native, moved to Arizona 19 years ago from Montana and died Nov. 26, 1982, at Desert Samaritan Hospital. He was a retired farmer. Survived by daughter, Sandra, Tempe. Sons, LeRoy of Montana, Larry of Florida and Neil of Washington. One brother out of state. 9 Grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. James John Wesson, 71, a retired compress worker, died Oct. 26, 1982, in Phoenix Memorial Hospital. Mr. Wesson was born in Texas and moved to Arizona 50 years ago from Oklahoma. He was a 33rd Degree Mason. He is survived by his daughters, Gladys Hickerson and Dorris Dorsey; two brothers; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Services were at Second New Salem Baptist Church. Webber and Sons Mortuary handled arrangements. 10/30/1982.

WEST, Rex B.

Rex B. West, 73, of Phoenix, who founded and operated Rex B. West & Co. Insurance, died Jan. 29, 1982, in his home. He was born in Bernie, Missouri, and came to Arizona in 1958. He graduated from the University of California after attending Denver University for two years. Survivors include his wife, Jane; children, Betty Dreessen and Rex, Jr.; stepson, Carl Hochmuth and a sister. Services were at Messinger Mortuary, 7601 E. Indian School Rd. Feb. 1, 1982.

Richard Ira Westfall, 35, a carpenter with Mountain States Mineral Enterprises in Tucson, died Tues., Oct. 12, 1982. He served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War. Survivors include his parents, Vincent and Marion Westfall; two brothers and three sisters. 10/16/1982.
