TAYLOR, Gertrude

Friends of Gertrude Taylor, 95, who moved here 27 years ago from Illinois and died Oct. 29, 1979, in her home, called in Hansen Mortuary. Services and interment were in Sidney, Ohio. Mrs. Taylor, of Cave Creek, is survived by her children, Amelia Minniear of Burbank, California, and Jim; five grandchildren, 14 great-grandchidren and four great-great-grandchildren. John Edward Taylor, 58, a World War II Marine Corps veteran, died Sept. 29, 1979. He was retired in 1975 as a welder after six years with the Salt River Project. He moved to Arizona 25 years ago and was a part-time resident of Payson. Surviving are his wife, Mary Elizabeth; children, Johnnie Darlene Ritchie, Jackie Stout, Sandra Powers, Bruce Becker, Patrick and Wally Taylor; and nine grandchildren. 2 Oct 1979

Frank M. Templin, 54, died Oct. 11, 1979, in St. Joseph's Hospital. Mr. Templin moved here 34 years ago from Kansas and was employed as a telephone installer for Western Electric. Terry, 55, an architect who lived in Phoenix 31 years, were in Glendale Memorial Park, 7844 N. 61st Ave. Mr. Terry was a World War II veteran and died Oct. 18, 1979, at Phoenix Veterans Hospital. Mrs. Thatcher, a native of Mexico, moved to Safford in 1911. She formerly owned the Safford Country Club. Services for Jose Mae Rubin Thompson, 61, were in Grace Memorial Church of God in Christ, 811 W. Buckeye. Mrs. Thompson, 3149 E. Atlanta, died Oct. 1, 1979. She moved here 39 years ago from Texas and was a self-employed cosmetologist. Norman Wayne Thompson, 51, a bartender in Phoenix from 1965 to 1977 when he moved to Texas, died Oct. 31, 1979, in Dallas. He had been an inspector for Thorsen Tool Co. of Dallas. He was born in Minneapolis and served in the Merchant Marine in World War II. Survivors include his daughters, Janis, Colleen and Constance; mother, Emma Schmude; two sisters and four brothers. Services for Wallce Lamson Townsend, 68, who retired as a laboratory technician from the Arizona Department of Transportation, were in Dunedin, Florida. Mr. Townsend, formerly lived in Phoenix and died Oct. 2, 1979, in the Veterans Hospital at Bay Pines, Florida. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd. TRAYNOR, John A. "Jack"

Tempe -- John A. "Jack" Traynor, 85, a roping champion who had appeared in western movies and retired from the San Carlos Apache Indian Reservation livestock division in 1940, died Oct. 7, 1979, in Phoenix Veterans Hospital. Mr. Traynor was born in Springerville and lived in Tempe since 1942. He was a World War I veteran and a member of the American Legion in Globe 51 years. He is survived by his wife, Bertha Overton Traynor; and a sister. 9 Oct 1979

Gilbert -- Services for Dorothy S. Trent, 43, a teacher at Mesa Community College who was killed in a Chandler auto accident Oct. 13, 1979, were Wednesday in Melcher Mission Chapel, 6615 E. Apache Trail. Mrs. Trent, 17020 E. Redfield, moved to Arizona 21 years ago. She is survived by her husband, Bert; children, Lisa, Julia, Sharon, and David; parents, Mildred and Willie Smitherman. Helen Louisa Trimble, 81, who came to the Valley in 1905 and taught school and was active in community affairs, died Oct 1. 1979, in Claremont, California. Mrs. Trimble graduated from Phoenix Union High School and Arizona State University in 1916. She had been a teacher-librarian in a school at 10th Ave. and Washington for many years. Survivors include her daughter, Joanne Hartley, Claremont, CA; a grandson, John Hartley, Chicago, IL; two brothers, Sam and Verland Haldiman, Phoenix; and a sister, Mrs. Joseph Doron, Inverness, CA. Mesa -- Joe Trocino, 64, moved here in 1971 from Dearborn, MI, and died Oct. 8, 1979, in Mesa Hospital. He had been a gang leader for Uniroyal Corp. in Detroit, a member of the Moose Lodge and Velda Rose Homeowners Assn. Surviving are his wife, Florence; children, Victoria Kelley, Gary and Michael; five grandchildren; two brothers and five sisters. Mass was in All Saints Catholic Church, 1534 N. Recker.
