Dr. Jackle, a Winchester, IL, native, received a bachelor's degree in education from Springfield MO State College, a master's degree in Spanish and administration from the University of Missouri and a doctorate from the department of Hispanic-American and Luso-Brazilian studies at Stanford University. Payson -- Lester E. Jennings, 81, who was an electrical engineer for Arizona Public Service from 1935 until he retired in 1966, died Dec. 19, 1982, at Lewis R. Pyle Hospital. Mr. Jennings was born in Wabunsee County, Kansas, and graduated from Kansas State University in 1923 in electrical engineering. He moved to Phoenix in 1935 and had lived in Payson since 1968. Mr. Jennings was a major in the Army during World War II and was a founding member of the Arizona baptist Childrens Service. He was also a charter member of Chapter No. 3, Order of Demolay, in Manhatten, Kansas, a Mason for 60 years, a charter member of the Payson Masonic Lodge and was a church deacon since 1948. He is survived by his daughter, Marie DeOliviera; son, Lester E., Jr.; two sisters; two brothers; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Services were at the First Southern Baptist Church.
