Emilia Ragozzino, 90, wife of the late Jerry Ragozzino, died Dec. 2, 1982, at her residence. Mrs. Ragozzino was born in Italy and moved to Phoenix from New York in 1946. Services for Albert G. Raisch, 85, a farmer and a 24-year resident of Mesa, were Sunday in St. Lukes Lutheran Church, 807 N. Stapley Drive. Raisch, who was born in Ackley, Iowa, and moved to Arizona in 1958, died Thursday in a Valley hospital. Fredrick C. Ramm, Jr., 73, an insurance adjustor for Home Insurance Co. for 47 years, died Sat., Oct. 16, 1982, in his home. He moved to Sun City seven years ago from his native New Jersey. He was a member of All Saints of the Desert Episcopal Church of Sun City. In Hasbrouck Heights, N.J., he was a member of the Town Council, Corona Lodge No. 261 F&AM, the Sun City Square Club, and the El Zaribah Shrine 4. He was awarded the DeMolay Cross of Honor in 1982 for his work with boys in Glendale. RHODES, Albert W.

Prescott -- Albert W. Rhodes, 99, retired prospector and miner, died Oct. 28, 1982, at Yavapai Community Hospital. Mr. Rhodes was born in Reeding, Michigan, and moved to Arizona in 1889. He served in the Arizona National Guard and the 1st Illinois Cavalry during a Mexican border skirmish in 1916. He prospected for gold in Arizona and northern California and later worked at the Vulture Mine in Wickenburg. He was a member of First Families of Arizona and was member and last president of the Arizona Pioneers Association. He is survived by his wife, Orpha; daughters, Ellen McGowan, Elaine Zimmerman and Eva Jones (funeral announcement says "Eva Johns"; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and two nephews in California. RHUART, John Holmes

John Holmes Rhuart, 76, a Phoenix banker and a founder, past president and past chairman of the board for Desert Botanical Garden, died Nov. 16, 1982. He was a lifelong Phoenix resident and was past senior vice president of Valley National Bank when he retired in 1971 after 25 years with the bank. He joined the bank in 1947 after serving in World War II. He was a graduate of Phoenix College, University of Santa Clara and the School of Mortgage Banking at Northwestern University. Mr. Rhuart was nationally known for his 3-acre terraced garden "Las Palmas Altas" on the side of Camelback Mountain. He had a similar garden at his second home in Ensenada, Mexico. Romulo Ribera, 90, a concert violinist, died Dec. 5, 1982, at a local hospital. He was born in Spain and toured Europe and Africa as a violinist before moving to New York. While a concertmaster in Capetown, South Africa, he met his wife, Erica, a Russian-born dentist who later taught Spanish in schools in Coolidge and was an interpreter for the United Stations. ROCKWELL, Margaret Adams

Margaret Adams Rockwell, who was active in the state and national Republican Party for many years, died De. 28, 1982, at Village Green Center. Mrs. Rockwell and her late husband, Foster Haven Rockwell, had owned the Adams Hotel in Phoenix. She was born in Rock Island, Illinois, and moved to Phoenix in the early 1890s. The Rockwell family home was at 131 W. Palm Lane. Mrs. Rockwell ran unsuccessfully for Congress in 1944. In 1945, she served as vice chairwoman of the Republic State Committee and later was elected to two four-year terms as Republican National Committeewoman for Arizona. She served on the National Executive Board from 1952 to 1956. Mrs. Rockwell was active in civic affairs and was a member of the Coronado National Monument Commission on the Arizona-Mexico border and director for Arizona of the Robert E. Lee Stratford Hall Foundation in Virginia. She also was a charter member of the Phoenix Soroptimist Club. She was the daughter of Phoenix pioneer J. C. Adams who built the Adams Hotel. Mrs. Rockwell is survived by her daughter, state Rep. Betty Rockwell; five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Memorial services were in All Saints Episcopal Church, 6300 N. Central. A.L. RONNING, Adolph

Adolph Ronning, inventor, dies at 89
Adolph Ronning, 89, a research engineer and inventor, died Monday in a Valley hospital. Services for Ronning, 4750 N. 55th St., will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Green Acres Chapel, 401 N. Hayden Road, Scottsdale. He invented the power road grader and sold the idea to McCormick-Deering. He also built a forage harvester and sold the patents and the product to International Harvester. In the 1920s, Ronning created a photoelectric switch that General Motors installed as an automatic headlight dimmer on Cadillacs. During World War II, he contributed 38 projects to the war effort, including the stick power control used to operate and drive tanks. Ronning introduced a twin-wheel, front-suspension system used on John Deere tractors and shortly before his death, he was working on safety designs for motor buses, trucks and an airplane landing gear. He was a past master of University Lodge and a member of Acacia Lodge of Avondale, past royal patron of Desert Sun Amaranth, past associate guardian of Bethel No. 3 and past grand associate guardian of the State of Arizona for Jobs Daughters. He also had been past patron of the Order of Eastern Star, an officer and senior champion in 1968 of the Greater Phoenix Bowling Association and a member of Westminister Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his wife, Doris; daughters, Doris Thimlar, Shirley Casbon and Carla Hayes; sons, Edward, Elvin, Jr., Robert, Jeffrey and Timothy; a sister and two brothers; 15 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
