Sophia Pacinelli, 82, an Arizona resident for 30 years, died Dec. 29, 1982, in Good Samaritan Hospital. Mrs. Pacinelli was born in Teramo, Italy, and moved to Phoenix from Erie, Pennsylvania. Services for M. Lee Page, of Tolleson, a retired farmer, were in Memory Lawn Mortuary. Lee died Tuesday, Oct. 19, 1982, in Phoenix. He was born in Oregon City, Oregon, and moved to Arizona in 1934. Mesa -- Robert J. Phalen, 64, former owner of Bob's Cleaners and Laundry Services, died Dec. 25, 1982, at Mesa Lutheran Hospital. Mr. Phalen, 2145 N. Country Club, was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, and moved to Arizona in 1952. He was a dog kennel owner and founding member of Superstition Kennel Club. He was a member of the Maricopa Southside Sheriff's Posse and Mesa Elks, and was a board member of Arizona Quarter Horse Breeders Association. Blanche E. Popkin, 82, who moved to the Valley 10 years ago from New York, died Fri., Oct. 15, 1982, in a Valley hospital. She was a member of Temple Emanuel of Tempe, a member of the B'Nai B'Rith women and a gold honor member, O.R.T., Hadassah, Avodah Chapter, a Red Cross volunteer and had manager a millinery factory in New York. Survivors include a nephew, Samuel Altschuler, and three sisters. 10/16/1982.

PORTER, Fred S., Jr.

Fred S, Porter, Jr., 65, who was a prominent Arizona businessman and sportsman, died at Phoenix Veterans Hospital. Mr. Porter, whose family founded the largest Western wear chain in the United States, was manager of Porters of Arizona for 16 years. He was a member of the Arizona Racing Commission when he resigned in 1962 to become its executive secretary. In 1964 he quit that job to become a vice president of Funks Greyhound Racing Circuit. Mr. Porter was in charge of special promotions at all Funk tracks. He was a charter member of the National Cowboy Hall of Fame in Oklahoma and served as secretary of the organization. He was a Phoenix native and attended the University of Arizona in Tucson and the University of Southern California. He was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity. Mr. Porter joined the Porter store in Tucson in 1937 and two years later became the manager. He continued in that job until joining the Navy in World War II. After his discharge, Mr. Porter returned to Phoenix to manage Porter's downtown store at First Street and Adams. Mr. Porter is survived by his wife, Helen; sons, Barkley N. and Steven; a brother, William; and two grandchildren. Services were held at Christ Church of Ascension, 4015 E. Stanley Carleton Potter, 88, who had been a postmaster in Woodbridge, N. J., died Monday, Sept. 27, 1982. Private services were held. He moved to Arizona in 1973 from his native Woodbridge. He was in the Navy during World War I. He was president of the Barron Library in Woodbridge and the Alpine Cemetery in Perth Amboy, N. J. He was a tenor soloist with the church choir. Survivors include his wife, Hope; sons, Richard and Stanley, Jr.; daughter, Gloria Marshall; a brother and nine grandchildren. 10/2/1982.

David Allen Powell, 27, an auto mechanic, died Monday, Oct. 18, 1982, in his home. Services were in A. L. Moore and Sons Memory Chapel. Ervin Pozorski, 67, who moved to Phoenix 21 years ago from Wisconsin, died Nov. 18, 1982, at Scottsdale Memorial Hospital. Mr. Pozorski was a member of the Albright United Methodist Church and had been a custodian five years. Pratt, of Mesa, died Monday, Oct. 25, 1982, in a Valley nursing home. He was born in Perkins, Oklahoma, and moved to Mesa in 1945 from Washington. He was past vice president of the board of Sunshine Acres, past president of the Mesa Optimists Club and past member of the board of directors of the Desert Assembly of God Church. PRICE, Ruth Adair

Ruth Adair Price, 79, who was born in Blue Mound, Kansas, and moved to Arizona in 1981 from Lakewood, Colorado, died Friday, Oct. 1, 1982, in a Valley hospital. Mass for Mrs. Price, 7644 N. Fifth Ave., will be said at 9:30 a.m. Monday in St. Francis Xavier Church. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Church, American Organization of Soroptomists, the China Club of Seattle for the United Nations and was active in the United Nations since 1945, retiring in 1973. She worked for Chinese refugees and went to China as an attorney. She was an attorney at the Peking Union Medical College and received the Auspicious Star Medal, the highest award given by Taiwan. She was a cultural affairs officer for Far Eastern Affairs for the United States and devoted the last 12 years of her life to the genealogical study of the Dismang and Alexander families. She was active in assisting Chinese students and refugees, a world traveler, a poet and member of many poet organizations. Survivors include a daughter, Joy Ruth Casserly; and four grandsons. PRIEST, William "Willie"

William "Willie" Priest, 78, who retired as captain in 1964 with the Phoenix Fire Department after serving 36 years, died Nov. 19, 1982, at St. Joseph's Hospital. Mr. Priest was born in Douglas and attended Adams Elementary School and Union High School in the Valley. He was employed by the state Highway Department before becoming a fireman and was a member of the Fire Fighters Union No. 493. Survivors include his wife, Florence; son, Toni; daughter, Gwen "Babe" Farmer; sisters, Connie Greenhalgh and Frances Priest, Las Vegas, NV; brother, John, Portland, OR; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. William H. Proehl, 69, a former Motorola employee, died Dec. 2, 1982. He was born in South Dakota and moved to Arizona from Fort Benning, GA, 25 years ago. He was a World War II veteran and served in the Army Corps of Engineers, retiring as a lieutenant colonel. PULLEN, Jack Boon

Douglas -- Jack Boon Pullen, 82, a retired assistant general manager with Phelps Dodge Corp's Western Division, died Dec. 25, 1982, at Southeast Arizona Medical Center. Mr. Pullen, of 1057 D Ave., was born in Las Vegas, New Mexico, and moved to Arizona 59 years ago. He was a 1922 graduate of Tri-State College of Engineering in Angola, Indiana. He began his career at Phelps Dodge in 1923 at the Copper Queen Branch in Bisbee. In 1953 he was appointed Western Division assistant general manager, retiring in 1964. He was a member of AIME, Arizona Mining Congress, Elks and Masons in Jerome and the Douglas Golf and Social Club. He is survived by his wife, Jane; daughter, Barbara Kuhn; son, John; a sister; five grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Services were at Brown-Page Mortuary, Douglas. 12/28/1982.
