Bessie Galsky, 86, died Nov. 22, 1982. Mrs. Galsky had moved here from Texas and had lived in the Valley for six years. Member of B'nai B'rith, Hadassah and the Order of the Eastern Star. Cleofas Galvan, 83, was born Texas and died at a local hospital here Nov. 14, 1982. He moved to Arizona 14 years ago and was a farm laborer. Scottsdale -- Linda Gersten, 66, who organized the first debutante cotillion for the Tucson Symphony in 1957, died Jan. 4, 1982, in John C. Lincoln Hospital. Mrs. Gersten, 7308 E. Montebello, came to Tucson in 1954 from New York City. She had been an advertising and fashion model in New York City and later appeared in several Paramount Pictures, including a Jack Benny film. GIRARDI, Joseph Dominick

Pinetop -- Joseph Dominick Girardi, 39, counselor and head football and wrestling coact at Show Low High School, died Dec. 7, 1982, from injuries sustained in an auto accident near Winslow. He was born in New Kensington, PA. He attended Eastern Arizona Junior College in Thatcher and graduated from Southwestern State University in Weatherford, OK, with a bachelors degree in business in 1967 and his masters degree in counseling in 1969. He taught and coached at Leoti, Kansas, Blue Ridge High School in Lakeside and Baker University in Baldwin, KS, before moving to Show Low in 1980. He and his wife owned and operated the El Rancho Restaurant in Pinetop. Ruth Greenberg, 86, a Valley resident, died Nov. 24, 1982, at Phoenix Baptist Hospital. Mrs. Greenberg moved to Phoenix from Georgia and was a member of Beth Joseph Congregation in Phoenix. She is survived by daughters, Gertrude Silver and Charlotte Denny; son, Albert; two sisters; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Services were in Georgia. GREENING, Walter

Walter E. Greening, 60, a retired pipe-fitter with John Armour Air Conditioning, died Dec. 28, 1982, at Veterans Administration Medical Center. Mr. Greening, of 808 E. Belmont, was born in Peru, Illinois, and moved to Phoenix 36 years ago. GREEVER, John D.

John D. Greever, 54, a retired Air Force chief master sergeant, died Sunday at a Valley hospital after a long illness. There were no services for Greever, a Phoenix resident. He moved to Arizona in 1948 from his native Staunton, Virginia. A 30-year Air Force veteran, he served in the Korean and Vietnam wars. GREFF, Josephine

Josephine Mary Greff, 73, a Phoenix native who resided at Sacred Heart, 1110 N. 16th St., died there Nov. 20, 1982, after a long illness. She worked at St. Joseph's Hospital & Medical Center for nearly 30 years. Survivors include sisters, Ida A. Westfall, Frances Wauson and Sr. M. GREGER, George D., Sr.

Sun City -- George D. Greger, Sr., 84, a former Philippine Refining Corp. treasurer and 19-year Sun City resident, died Dec. 21, 1982, at Valley View Community Hospital. Mr. Gerger, who was born in New York City, conducted his own band, "The Buddies", during the Roaring Twenties and was an accomplished pianist. He also was a tenpin bowler who won numerous trophies and awards in league competition. He led the Sun City Youngtown league teams for three seasons. He was a cifil defense leader in Hasbrouck Heights, N.J., during World War II and served the community as an auxiliary policeman. He was summoned from retirement in 1968 by the International Executive Service Corps (IESC) and assigned to Cartagena, Colombia, where he successfully analyzed the financial operations of a soap manufacturer. He was honored by David Rockefeller, IESC chairman, for his extensive reorganization of the company's cost accounting system. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the Scandinavian Club. He is survived by his wife, Else B.; sons, G. Dewey, Jr. and Richard W.; and six grandchildren. GREGG, Kathleen

Flagstaff -- Kathleen Gregg, 74, lifelong Arizona resident and member of a pioneer family, died Dec. 1, 1982, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix. Mrs. Gregg was born in Tempe and moved to Flagstaff 47 years ago. She is survived by her husband, Jesse; daughters, LaDora Lester and Betsy A. Suter; two sisters; a brother; and three grandsons. Viola Mae Grems, 67, who had been a secretary for the family roofing business in Vancouver, Washington, for 37 years, died Wed., Oct. 6, 1982, in a Valley hospital. Mrs. Grems was born in South Dakota and moved to Tempe two years ago from Vancouver. She was a member of the Women of the Moose and the Methodist Church. Lucy Greywatch died Monday, Oct. 18, 1982, in Brazil, Indiana. She moved to Youngtown 25 years ago from her native Brazil and was a bookkeeper for Greyhound Corp. and Ray Lumber Co.
