KIRSCHNER, SCHMIEDLIN, WINTERMANTEL posted by Julie Schmiedlin Edwards on 08/03/02

During a trip to Sauk county WI this spring, we were able to locate various tombstones for all 3 of these surnames, with the help of local cousins. We are now interested in finding the burial locations of several Schmiedlin and Kirschner babies, born in the mid to late 1800's. Possible names are Louisa and Christine Schmiedlin, daughters of Mathias And Salome Schmiedlin, and (unknown) Kirschner, child of Emanuel and Salome Kirschner. Locations could be Salem, Blackhawk or Sauk City, or elsewhere.

STANTON posted by Rhonda Stanton on 08/26/02

I'm working on the family of my husband's direct ancestor, Lyman Stanton. We find Lyman and family in Sauk Co. in 1880 as follows: 1880 Sauk County, Wisconsin Census Lyman Stanton self M M W 45 PA Phebe " wife F M W 37 NY Lucy " dau F S W 16 MI Ada " dau F S W 13 MI Perry " son M S W 8 WI Carrie " dau F S W 3 WI Edward " son M S W 1 WI Our line is through Edward, and Perry and Carrie are accounted for. Daughters Lucy and Ada were old enough to have married in Wisconsin before the family moved south to Missouri. Would a marriage lookup from about 1880-1895 be possible? Anyone with info on this family? I'd love to compare notes. Rhonda Stanton
