ALLEN, BABCOCK, JENNINGS, RIPLEY, SIGGELKOW, SLONIKER posted by Don Palmer on 04/05/02

Would like any information on the Smith and James JENNINGS families.Smith married Saloma Jeanette BABCOCK 1855 in Allegan, Mich., I believe he left a wife in New York. Smith and Saloma were in Baraboo, Sauk Co. Wi. in 1860 where a son George was born. Smiths brother James, after serving in the Civil War from N.Y. deserted his wife in Pennsylvania in 1880 and removed to Baraboo, living with Smith for a while. Smith divorced Saloma and later married, I believe, Mary, widow of Dr. Josephus ALEXANDER. James later married Saloma and was a traveling seed salesman, working out of Baraboo George JENNINGS married Mary SIGGELKOW and had Maude and Buleah. Maude married Louis N. ALLEN after she possibly married a SLONIKER and having children Elmer G. and Eileen M. Buleah married Charles RIPLEY and had Evelyn and Everett. Any information greatly appreciated.

DALTON, OSMER, PALMER, SEARLES posted by Dennis Searle on 05/21/02

I am looking for connections between Osmer and Searles. Ephriam Osmer married the daughter of my great great grandfather whose name is Deliah Searles. They married in 1860's. Her father is Sterling Pomeroy Searles and her mother is ellen Dalton Searles. Ephriam came from New York to Wisconsin. I do not know of his where abouts in Wisconsin prior to the marriage. There may also be a connection with the Palmer family as another sister married a John Palmer in the same year. Since there are Plamer and Osmer families in this county and times frame - 1840-60 - I am searching this area of Wisconsin.
