AGEE, HAMBLETON, HOLLAND, O'BRIAN,
O'BRIEN -
I am trying to determine if my ggggmother, Betsey O'Brian who is listed in the Bedford Co.
marriage bonds,(married to Ai Agee 23 Jan, 1807) is the sister of the William
O'Brien (that is the way both names are spelled in the document) who married Rhoda
Holland in 1811. A Wm O'Brien is listed as surety for her and her parent is her
mother, Susannah. The problem with this is that the Wm who married Rhoda's mother was supposedly
Phoebe (or Pheebe) Hambleton. Thanks for any help.

DEARING, DEER, DEERING -
I am searching for a connection between the Deering family of Pittsylvania County Virginia
and the Dearings of Bedford Co. Va. I have a Susan Deer/Deering living in Pittsylvania
County in 1850 and 1860. I was told that she used to visit relatives in Bedford Co. I also
believe that she was related to the Stokes Co. North Carolina Dearings, which I think are
also related to the Bedford Co. Dearings. I cannot find a husband for Susan, but she had
the following children: Henry Caliss, Nancy, Robert Sidney, William H. Mary E. and Garland. Susan
was born about between 1821 and 1825. I think that her middle name may have been Francis. She had
a sister named Nellie (possibly short for Ellen) and possibly another named Nancy. She may have
had an aunt name Elizabeth (Betsy Deer). In the earlier census records their last name is
listed as Deer but later it is listed as Deering. Her sister, Nellie's death
certificate list her mother's name as Pattie Deering. I was also told that Susan and her
sisters came from Ohio in a covered wagon. I know this sounds strange, but some of the Stokes Co.
Dearings and the Bedford Co. Dearings had moved to Ohio and Missouri very early on.
It is possible that even though they were born in Virginia that they moved up there as little
girls and their mother brought them back for some reason, when they were still young. I would
appreciate any help finding her relatives. I have been stuck on her a very long time. Thanks,

BATEMAN -
Looking for BATEMAN families in Bedford Co., VA in early to mid 1700's. A Thomas
Bateman b. 29 Jan 1755 stated on his Revoluntary War pension application that he was the
son of William Bateman and born in Bedford Co., VA. A Jesse Bateman (b.1750-1755)
married a sister to Thomas' wife in NC. Thomas moved from in the late 1700's NC to SC and then
through GA and AL to MS where he died. Jesse moved in the 1790's(with 2 other Batemans
assumed to be brothers or cousins) from NC to GA. Descendants of Thomas and Jesse have DNA tests
that show Thomas and Jesse were related. Any information on Thomas' assumed father, William
Bateman of Bedford, VA or any other Batemans there in the early 1700 would be appreciated.
