I have my line of DAVISes in Bedford Co. back to the Revolution, but know next to nothing about my grandmother's immediate family! She was Clara Hoffman Davis b. 1885 in Bedford, dtr of Clara M. Hoffman and George Wadsworth Davis. Known siblings are Samuel B., Ellen and Annis. Any information about this family would be greatly appreciated. Also know the names of bridesmaids at her 1906 marriage to Beverly Tate WREN: Florrie Jordan, Rose O'Hara, Elizabeth Bolling and Sallie Johnston. Would love to hear from descendants of these ladies.

Looking for info on the family of Giles T. and Elizabeth Frances (Williams) Quarles who married in Bedford Co. in 1840. Elizabeth died in 1858 and Giles in 1862. They were survived by many children, many of them minors: Cornelia, Arabella, Samuel H., Giles who married Cordelia Baylor, Lorenzo L., Martha, and Mary C. The last child was born in 1857. What happened to these children after they were orphaned? Need vital dates and spouses' names for them.

Seeking info on family of John Taylor and Susannah Williams who married in 1808 in Campbell Co., VA. John died by Sept 1818 and Anderson Williams, Susannah's father, was administrator of his estate. In 1850, Susannah was head of household in Bedford Co. With her were her father, Anderson, Mary B. Taylor, born c1811, James W. Taylor, born c1816, John A. Collins, 23, and Susan E. Collins, 21. Susannah's sister, Mary, married James Collins in 1825. These may be her children. Susannah also had daughter Mildred who married Harrison Farmer, c1835. What became of Mary B. and James W. Taylor? When did Susannah Taylor die?

William Creasey married Martha Jane Witt in 1837, Bedford Co., VA. In 1850, they had children: Elsy, Mark and Cassie Ann M. Cassie Ann later married Addison Blankenship. However, Martha was head of household in 1850, with no William. Did William die or did they divorce? There is a William Creasey in Pittsylvania Co. whose age roughly matches that of William of Bedford. He was with Mary 27, Mary 1, and William, 2 months old.

Edmund and his brother Richard were the sons of Edmund GOODE, Sr. who died in Bedford in 1771. I descend from Edmund's son, John GOODE who married Anne M. LEFTWICH. I am searching for any information regarding the family of my great-grandmother, Maria GLADMAN, who was from Lynchburg, VA in the county of Bedford. She lived in the Lynchburg area until approximately 1861, when she and her husband and two sons left for Ohio. Her father's name was Claiborne GLADMAN, and I believe her mother's name was Anna RIFQUE or RISQUE. She had several siblings whose names were Lucinda, Frances, Louisa, William, John, Alexander, and Gustavus. Maria GLADMAN's husband was Henry GREGORY.

Looking for information on Aaron Watts that lived in Bedford Co, VA and served in the Rev War, where he apparently was killed. In the period 1777-1779 there are several items in the Bedford Co order book stating that Aaron's wife Rebeckah received money from the court for the support of her family. In 1787 this Rebeckah is found in Mercer Co, KY as Rebeckah Gough. It is not clear when or where the marriage to Gough took place, but her three sons by Aaron Watts (Aaron, Jr, William and John) chose Robert McIntire as their guardian in 1792-93 in Mercer Co. The son William is shown in these documents as William Harksin (Harkins?) Watts.

Looking for any info. on Violetta Ruth (Graham) Spraker who married Cecil Spraker and lived in Hardy, Virginia (1950s) and maybe before and after. She died in 1967 and is buried in Mt. View Cemetery near Vinton. Cecil died in the mid 1990s and may be buried at Mt. View Cemetery also. Violetta was born between 1905-1910 and was the daughter of Hundley P. Graham (birth, death?) and Millie Melissa Brim (born 1873 died 1943) ... any information would be appreciated about this line.

I am searching for birth/death/or marriage information on James WILLIAMSON who was born in about 1750 and married (1) Elizabeth Hall on June 28, 1773 in Bedford County. I know that marriage date is correct as it appears in Quaker Marriage records. James and Elizabeth had a son, John, born in 1782 also in Bedford County, probably. I do need confirmation of that fact. Also need marriage dates and names for John (believe his 2nd wife was Sarah ?) and death dates and places for both James and John.
