I descend from Elisha Pullen who migrated from GA to Maury Co., TN, about 1810. We have reason to believe that Elisha was kin to Justice Thomas Pullen and Moses Pullen of Bedford Co. We have never been able to prove this theory because we cannot establish who Elisha's parents were. We have a direct male descendant of Elisha's who is willing to do a DNA sample. We are looking for a direct descendant of either Thomas or Moses Pullen who would be willing to do a sample for match purposes. Thank you.

I am researching my family, the Carter's of Bedford. My mother was Alma Virginia Carter, grandmother Della B. Carter, g-grandfather William Whitfield Carter, g-g- grandfather Albert Callohill Carter, g-g-g-grandfather James Albert Carter, g-g-g-g- grandfather John D. Carter, born 1802. This is as far back as I am able to go. If anyone has information about John D. Carter's father, etc. I would greatly appreciate it. My mother and grandmother are passed away and there are no other family members to ask to help with my research. Thanks for any help.

I am searching for information on James R. Gill, born about 1899, adopted son of Joseph Philip Gill and his 2nd wife, Nannie M. Williamson. Joseph Philip Gill lived from 1862-1912, and was the son of Samuel Francis Gill of Mecklenburg Co., VA. My last documentation for James R. Gill was on the 1910 Bedford Co., VA. census, 11 years old. Does anyone have information on him? Thanks.

My great-great grandparents were Jarvis HAYDON and Harriet "Harry" Ann MITCHELL who were married on March 18, 1829 in Amherst County, Virginia. I believe that they lived near the Amherst / Bedford county line in the vicinity of Lynchburg or Forest. Jarvis HAYDON died in Bedford county and several of their children were born in Bedford county according to the family Bible.
Jarvis was the son of Jesse & Lucy (McCALLEY) HAYDON. The family Bible indicates that Lucy was born March 28, 1771 and that she died in April 1862 in Bedford County. I believe she was living with Thomas and Sally (HAYDON) EUBANKS in Forest at the time of her death.
Harriet was the daughter of John and Elizabeth (HARDWICK) MITCHELL (marriage bond December 19, 1783 in Bedford County, Virginia - Elizabeth was the daughter of Robert HARDWICK)
I believe that John MITCHELL was the son of Archelaus and Hannah MITCHELL and that they lived on or near Harris Creek.
In 1803, John MITCHELL must be "away", as his wife petitions the court to sell some of the furniture and other items in their home to provide for her and their children: Zachariah, George, and Harry Ann.
I would appreciate any information on the MITCHELL family regarding Archelaus and his children. Also if anyone knows what happened to my John MITCHELL or where he went that would be appreciated as well. I have been told that some of Elizabeth's HARDWICK relatives went to Kentucky. Finally, I would love to find a death record for Lucy (McCALLEY) HAYDON and discover where she was buried. Thanks!

I am looking for information on my grandmother's family. Her name was Della Belle Carter born in 1901. I know her mother's name was Fanny Parker Carter. She had a brother named Early Carter whose wife was Mamie, another brother was Pat Carter. She was married to my grandfather Walter Carter. My mother was Alma Virginia Carter born June 22, 1922. That is all I know about my family there in Bedford, Va. I hope someone has information on them. Thank you.

I am looking for information on Jesse Johnson who married Letty Green and had 14 Children one of which was Peter Johnson born in Virginia in 1807 and died in 1887 in Lexington Ky. All I know is the name Jesse and Letty and that they were born in Virginia and I assume in Bedford County.
