GOUGH, WATTS -
Looking for information on Aaron Watts that lived in Bedford Co, VA and served in the Rev War, where he apparently was killed. In the period 1777-1779 there are several items in the Bedford Co order book stating that Aaron's wife Rebeckah received money from the court for the support of her family. In 1787 this Rebeckah is found in Mercer Co, KY as Rebeckah Gough. It is not clear when or where the marriage to Gough took place, but her three sons by Aaron Watts (Aaron, Jr, William and John) chose Robert McIntire as their guardian in 1792-93 in Mercer Co. The son William is shown in these documents as William Harksin (Harkins?) Watts.

His wife, Frances Trent, is sister to my ancestor, Minor Trent Finch, and I'm hoping to find a clue to the parentage of Minor Trent Finch and Frances Trent Brooks. Seeking information on Stephen MCPHERSON and Phebe MURDOCK who were in Bedford Co in the late 1700s and early 1800s. Stephen and Phebe had six children: John, Jesse, Joseph, Catherine, Sarah "Sally" and Mary "Polly." Information on any of the above would be greatly appreciated.

Looking for the parents of my grgrgrgrandfather, Anderson BASHAM. Have seen a number of names posited as his family and some of the names appear here in Bedford/Franklin. According to his Scioto co. Ohio death record, he was born in Monroe county, 1810. He married Frances PERRY in Kanawha County Sept. 1831. Their son, John W., is my grgrgrandfather. Have seen his father as Bartlett Basham, Wm. Loyd Basham, Angel Basham Sr., his grandsire as John Basham Sr and Jr...any help appreciated.

Looking for information on Robert Gilmore Swain, born in Bedford County in 1820. Married Mary Jane Emeline Creasy in 1842 and married Elizabeth (Eliza) Ann Overstreet. I know he was in Bedford County until 1880 and he disappears. His wife Eliza shows up in Roanoke, VA as a widow in 1895. Any information will be appreciated.
