Gaines b. abt. 1812, married Elizabeth Noell on 09/30/1830 Children ~

(have no other information)
- Robert H. Gaines (my paternal g grandfather) b, abt.
1838, married Margaret Scott on 01/16/1868
I know that he served in the Virginia 10th
Heavy Artillery 1861 - 1865 I know that he lived into the early 1900's.
- James b. abt. 1843
- 1844 (have no other information)
Does anyone have any more information about these people?
OR
Does anyone know the name of the father of Robert F. Gaines? This is a roadblock
keeping me from connecting with my lineage going backwards ??? I was also told once that someone
really believed that this Margaret Scott mentioned above was down lineage in the same
family tree as the famous Margaret Scott who was executed as a Witch in the Salem Mass.

WOOD -
I am working on the Wood side of my family tree and and stuck at a stand still. I have
found the name of my great great great grandfather but I cannot find any information on him. All
I have is his name was Thomas C Wood and was married to a woman named Rebecca. They had a
son named Robert Alexander Wood and he had a son named Otis Rucker Wood in turn, he
had a son, my grandfather Everette Kent Wood. I know that Robert Alexander Wood was
born around 1862 in Virginia. From Otis Rucker Wood on, I know for a fact, our family has
resided in Bedford County. Any help that anyone can provide would be greatly appriciated.

David Carter & Ann Derefill married on 11 April, 1800 in Bedford Co. Va. Ann was
born there between 1783-1785 to William Derefill and Ann Jordan. Can anyone help
with this family, their children's names, where they went to after marrying? Was David
Carter's dad's name John Carter? Did they have a son named Thomas Carter
born 1803 in Russell Co. Va? Thanks for any help !

James Crabtree, born 2/20/1762, New London, Bedford County, VA, died 3/4/1834 in
Washington County IL. Married Elizabeth Carroll Standley abt 1784. Would anyone have any
information on this family and their descendants? In particular, did they have a daughter
Elizabeth married to Daniel Johnson of Oldtown, Allegheney, MD.? Thanks

GRANT -
Looking for William H Grant Sr. born abt 1818 to Alexander D and Rebecca Grant in
Nelson County VA, died abt 1901 - last residence (over 30 years) Charlemont, Bedford VA... If I
could find WHERE he is buried I would maybe find out WHEN he died, which could open a lot of
doors! Anyone living in that area like to wander through cemeteries??? He was married to
Catherine Susan, Eliza Jane, and Mary C - the first two preceeded him in death.
