CONNAWAY, FARMER, RICHARDSON -
I am looking for parents of my Amos Richardson Born 1762 in Bedford Co., VA, according to
his Revolutionary Papers, which I have a copy of. By the time the Revolutionary war started
Amos was living in Burke Co., North Carolina, where he enlisted Twice.
Anyway, I have been trying to figure out who his parents were since 1994 with not much luck.
My Amos Richardson settled in Campbell Co., TN his 2nd wife was Frances Farmer of
Anderson Co., TN, and he died a pauper in Campbell Co., TN in 1853. So, he was old. He had
several sons, Thomas, Aaron, Daniel, John. By names alone, he matches best with Jonathan
Richardson who married Catherine Connaway, their kids names totally match with my
Amos Richardson. I just can't figure out which one of their sons was his father. Their
kids: possible father, would be John born 1707, Daniel 1712, Thomas 1717, Abraham 1719, Amos
1721, Aaron 1723, David 1725.
My Amos Richardson who I have just described above, his son Aaron named one of his
daughters Catherine. It would seem, if there is a match it might be after Jonathan
Richardson's wife Catherine Connaway'. Jonathan died in Franklin Co., VA 1745, and
Catherine died by 1749 when Their kids, all mentioned above sold the property and supposedly
ended up in Bedford County, VA, where my My Amos Richardson was born. Later, his family
must have moved North Carolina where my Amos Richardson Enlisted.
Anyway, I'm wondering what land deeds there are and possibly who would have been selling there
property, from about 1765 on. It's possible that My Amos Richardson may also be related
to John Richardson who was born in 1760 in Beford Co., VA, According to his Revolutionary
papers, which I do have. This John also says that his family moved to Rowan Co., North Carolina,
when he was just 6 years old, according to his Revolutionary papers. According to My Amos
Richardson, there is a mark like this, Burke 67, North Carolina, when asked a question of
when he resided in North Carolina. I'm wondering, if "67" stood for the year 1767.
Anyway, If you have any good ideas, how I could go about searching this out. I would appreciate
in knowledge or directions.
Sincerely,
Cathi Gross
PS: I know in 1758 These Richardson were a part of the Militia for Bedford Co., VA: I'm
probably most interested in Daniel Richardson or John Richardson, because perhaps
he is the son of Jonathan Richardson & Catherine Connaway. If so, maybe he is the
person I am looking for. I know Jonathan Richardson, was the father of another Amos
Richarson born in Loudan Co., VA in 1764.
p. 67-69 In 1758, Bedford County, VA militia consisted of these Richardson's:
1. John Richardson, 2. Joshua Richardson, 3. Jonathan Richardson, 4. Daniel Richardson, 5. Joseph
Richardson, 6. Nathan Richardson.
Thanks for any help. :)

BEAUFORD, BUFORD -
I am looking for info about Thomas Buford, also spelled Beauford, who reportedly
died in Bedford County on 9 December 1716. Another interesting tidbit is that he died on the same
day as his father Thomas Beauford. I'm wondering if they were in an accident or something?
Or if there is any way to confirm that the dates in fact are the same, or is it a mistake in the
records I received. The family seems to have been in Middlesex County, VA as well.

LEE, THOMPSON -
I am looking for parent and death information for Black persons below. I think born in Otter,
Bedford: Henry 'Harry' Thompson born abt. 1837 - ?
Dianna / Dinah, wife of Henry Thompson abt. 1837 - Bedford Va. I think her maiden name was
'Lee' but not certain. Can not find death records for either. Hoping that the death
records will give me names of their parents.
Son of Henry & Dinah: George Thompson abt.1885. This is my G-Grandfather. I can not find
any records on him after 1900. My grandfather, his son is Charles Thompson who is listed
on the census with George's mother but never with George. Charles marriage certificate list
father as George Thompson and Mother as Mary but no last name for her so I am missing this
entire branch of my family with Mary.

MUNCIE, RICHARDSON -
I recently started doing my genealogy and I am stuck on Jonathan
Richardson. He was born 2 Nov 1760 in Bedford County, VA, but I do
not have any parents or siblings names. If it is possible to get the names
of his parents and siblings I would appreciate it.
Jonathan Richardson died 5 Dec 1836 in Clinton, TN, Married Mirum Muncie (born
1760/1770 in VA, died 1846 in Overton County, TN) Children: John, b. 1792 in VA (twin?); William,
b.1792 in VA (twin?); Margaret, b. 1795 in VA; James A., b. 1797 in VA (My GGGrandfather); James
Harvey, b. 1 Nov 1802 in Sullivan County, TN,
I also learned that Mirum Muncie may have been full blooded Muncie/Munsee Indian. I also found a
few references to Jonathan being part or full blooded Cherokee. I do not know if this is true or
not but it may be likely since I can't find any records of eithers relatives.

county for all these people. Looking for any proof or documentation of this

Tennessee relations, send me a note.

Mary md. John W. AYERS, Elizabeth Q. md. George W. SAUNDERS, Nancy Ann md.
James Campbell ARTHUR, Sarah W. md. John PAYNE. Janetta F. md. John WRIGHT;
all marriages were in Bedford Co. Two sons: Rev. John W. POWER md. Elizabeth

WILLS -
I am helping a descendant of Justinian Wills with her DAR application. We are trying to
determine if Justinian Wills had any form of service during the Revolutionary War. If he
is on the Virginia Personal Property Tax list for 1783 he would be eligible for Patriotic
Service, or if he was on a committee or performed a service for Bedford County connected with the
war, he might be eligible for Civil Service. Since he had already served in an earlier war, it
is possible that he did not serve in the military.
Any information on him during 1776-1783 would be appreciated.

COX, MASSEY, RICHARDSON, RICHESON,
TAYLOR -
Hi, my maiden name was Richardson. I have recently started doing some family history
research and I have come to a dead end. I have reached all the way back to Canada
Richardson who was supposedly the son of Johnathan Richardson. Canada married a
woman named Jane Cox who was the daughter of Captain John Cox. Anyway, I have got
stuck at Johnathan Richardson. Records which I have found in various online sites say he
was born in Bedford, VA. He married a woman named Elizabeth Taylor and then remarried a
woman named Anne Massey. Some records have all of the same information but different birth
and death dates. I have found some that say Johnathan was born in 1715 and others that say he was
born in 1748. It is possible that he spelled his Last name as "Richeson" as well, instead
of Richardson. All, I am trying to figure out is his correct birth date and who his
parents were, and who their parents were. Ultimately I am trying to find out when the
Richardson or "Richeson" family immigrated to the America. If you have any
information that could lead me to these answers I would greatly appreciate it! I have been doing
a lot of research and just can't seem to find anything else. It's getting very frustrating.
