PARKER -
The Bedford County Order Book # 9, page 132, has entries, in December 1787 as follows:
"Ord. that the Over,s,of the poor Bind out Aaron and Moses Parker Children of Mary Parker and so saw"
The next entry on the same page reads "Ord. that the Over,s od the poor Bind out Wm Parker, Jesse Parker and Levi Parker also two other younger children whose names are not known. Children of Sarah Parker and so saw"
We have extensive information on Mary Parker and the descendants of her children. Believe Sarah Parker may be a sister of Mary Parker. Would like to have information on Sarah and her children. Can anyone help us? Thank you.

HALE -
I am looking for a John Hale, born in Bedford about 1753. Supposedly served in Rev. war. Later moved to TN and died in Bledsoe County in 1838. He had three sons, Thomas, John T. "Jack", and later, Isham B. I am from Isham's line (according to family stories) but cannot find any information linking Isham as John's son, which I need to verify. I would also like any info. on this John's parents. Thank you.

GRAY, TAYLOR -
Looking for information on my maternal grandparents, Charles Edward Gray and Georgia Frances Taylor Gray, who lived on the top of Porter's Mountain, in the Montvale area of Bedford County, Va. Very little is known about Charles Gray. He possibly had a brother named Samuel.
It is believed that Georgia Taylor Gray was born in Richmond, Va. At some point, her parents separated. Her father remained in Richmond with her brothers and her mother brought her and her sisters to Southwest Va., possibly Bedford County. Georgia Taylor Gray was a midwife, and helped birth most, if not all, the babies born on the mountain during her time. She and Charles had 10 children of their own; my mother, Rhoda, was the 7th child. Two of their children did not reach adulthood: Barney, died at age 16, from complications of asthma; Violet died at age 4 years due to pneumonia. Except for their own family circles, none of my cousins have any information on our branch of the Gray Family Tree. I no longer drive on the highways--as a favor to the general public and myself--so I'm unable to go to the Bedford Courthouse to research this matter at this time. Any leads which you can provide will be greatly appreciated. Many thanks,
PS - A pretty, white church and a cemetery are located on property adjoining the former property of my grandparents. Could this be the Montvale Presbyterian Church to which you referred elsewhere on this website?
