Funeral services for Lizzie “Baby Lee” Lee Williams, 64, of Van Vleck will be held 11 a. m. Saturday at St. John Baptist Church, Van Vleck, with the Rev. Ruben Newell officiating. Burial to follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Van Vleck.

Friends may call until 9 p. m. today at Duncan-Roberts Funeral Home and from 10 to 11 a. m. Saturday at the church.

Mrs. Williams was born May 15, 1925, to Sylkert and Mamie Lou Shepherd Williams and Dec. 6, 1989, at Methodist Hospital, Houston.

She was a member of the Baptist church.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Carol and John Farris of West Columbia; mother, Mamie Lou Jackson of Van Vleck; four sisters, Ruth Ashton of Van Vleck, Josephine Williams, Margaret Stewart and Diane Sue Allen, all of Alvin; four brothers, the Rev. Harold S. Williams and John Alliniece of Van Vleck, Earl Williams of Alvin and Dewitt Alliniece of Bay City; an uncle, Isaac Giles of Harlingen; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Deacons of St. John’s Baptist Church.

Honorary pallbearers include Andre Roberson, the Rev. James Ashton Jr., Gary Ashton, Marvin Ashton, John Alliniece, Michael Alliniece, Charles Woodard, Lawrence Grice, Floyd Wiley, Horace Davis, R. A. Wiley, C. H. Singletary and Eric Emerson.

Loraine Williams


BAY CITY - Funeral services for Loraine Williams, 64, of Bay City, who passed away March 1, 2008, will be held Saturday, March 8, 2008, at 11 a.m., at St. John Baptist Church, Van Vleck, with the Rev. Ruben Newell, eulogist.

Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday from 2-8 p.m. at the chapel.

Timothy L. Williams

Funeral services for Timothy L. Williams, 25, of Freeport will be held 11 a. m. Saturday at Bethel Baptist Church in Freeport with the Rev. M. M. White officiating. Burial will be at St. John Cemetery in Van Vleck. The body will lie in state 10 to 11 a. m. Saturday at the church. Visitation is until 9 p. m. today.

Mr. Williams was born May 15, 1967 to James and Faye Williams. He died June 21, 1992 at University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston.

He was a member of the Baptist church. Mr. Williams graduated from Brazosport High School and Texas Tech University in Lubbock.

Survivors include his wife, Donna Williams of Freeport; parents, Faye and James Williams of Freeport; two sisters, Teresa Edwards of Freeport and Alesia Amboree of Lake Jackson; one brother, James Williams Jr. of Freeport; grandparents, Fred and Lillian Brown, Emeolia Ross and Lee Manning, all of Bay City; four nieces; five nephews and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers are Rodrick Watson, Marlin Lincoln, Rey Darthard, Curtis Williams Jr., Perry Jammer Jr. and Brooks Bass. Honorary pallbearers are James Williams Jr., Curtis Williams Sr., Carlos Wyche, Charles Williams, Alvin Don Bates Sr., Derwin Amboree, Lonnie Williams and Brazosport High School’s class of 1985.

Cozie Mae Wiley Workman

Funeral services for Cozie Mae Wiley Workman, 59, of Hearne, are scheduled for 2 p. m. on Saturday, Feb. 21, 1998, at Jesus Free Will Holy Temple in Bay City, with Bishop J. Johnson, pastor, and Pastor Ivy Lightner officiating. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery in Van Vleck.

Visitation is until 9 p. m. Friday in the chapel of Duncan-Roberts Funeral Home, and Saturday from 1 to 2 p. m. at the church.

Mrs. Workman passed away Tuesday, Feb. 17, 1998, in Hearne.

She was born in Van Vleck on Sunday, December 4, 1938, to Jeff Wiley and Lillie Bert Wiggins Wiley.

Her education was obtained from the Van Vleck Public Schools.

Her early Christian affiliations included membership with the Church of God of Prophecy in Van Vleck, under the leadership of the now late Bishop L. C. Curry. At the time of her demise, she was under the leadership of the now late Bishop L. C. Curry. At the time of her demise, she was under the watchmanship of Rev. Cleo Cox, pastor of Resurrection of the Living God Church in Hearne.

Survivors include her husband, Maxie Workman, Jr. of Hearne, and five daughters and three sons-in-law, Mrs. Lena and Willie Cheatum, and Mrs. Grace Robinson, Ms. Charlotte Parks and Mrs. Reba and James Benford, all of Hearne, and Mrs. Cora and Phillip Kemp of Houston.

Also one sister, Mrs. Pauline Bradford of Bay City, and two brothers, Felix Wiley of Port Lavaca, and Willie Wiley, Sr. of Sweeny. Also 14 grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; her mother-in-law, Mrs. Estella Workman, eight sisters-in-law, four brothers-in-law, and a host of nieces, nephews, an extended family of cousins, other relatives, and a family of many, many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Jessie Elnora Stroman, four brothers, McKinley Wiley, Charlie Wiley, Eugene Wiley and Nelson Wiley; and her father-in-law, Maxie Workman, Sr.

Active pallbearers are Glenn Allen, Willie Cheatum, Tyrone Smith, Nick Robinson, Mike Anderson and Dedrick Megeress.

Honorary pallbearers will include Felix Wiley, Willie Wiley, Clifford Runoalds, DeAndre Parks, Eric Wiley and Willie Wiley, Jr.

Voile Lorenzo Wyche

Funeral services for Voile Lorenzo Wyche, 29, of Houston, Tex. were to be held Thursday, Sept. 16, 1999, at 1 p. m. at Tyree Chapel A. M. E. Church in Bay City with Rev. A. H. Floyd officiating. Interment followed at St. John Cemetery in Van Vleck, Tex.

His parents are Carrie Williams Wyche and the late Walter Wyche. Maternal grandparents are Fred Brown and the late Lillian Williams Brown. Paternal grandparents are the late Voile Collins and Willie Mae Wyche Woodard.

Walter Patterson Wyche

Funeral services for Mr. Walter Patterson Wyche, age 51, of Houston, will be held Saturday, July 1st, at 2:00 P. M., at the First Sacred Memorial Christian Church in Bay City, with Rev. A. H. Floyd officiating. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery in Van Vleck.

Mr. Wyche, a former resident of Bay City, was born November 22, 1943, in Bay City, and was reared by his maternal grandparents, Ross and Hallie Wyche. He died June 24, 1995 in Houston, Texas.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Carrie Williams Wyche of Houston, and two sons, Voile L. Wyche and Carlos L. Wyche, both of Houston, and one step-son, Kevin O. Williams of Houston. Also one daughter, Ms. Runa Sardinea of Houston, and his mother, Mrs. Willie Mae Woodard of Houston. He also leaves one sister, Mrs. Alma Woodard Mayo of Bay City, and one brother, Cleveland Woodard, III of Bay City; an aunt, Mrs. Espanola Wyche Kilpatrick of Los Angeles, California, Also a mother-in-law, Mrs. Lillian Mangum Brown and a step-father-in-law, Fred Brown, Jr., of Bay City; 5 sisters-in-law, 6 brothers-in-law, 6 grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Active pallbearers will include Brian Barefield, Fred Brown, Jr., Joseph Taylor, Curtis Williams, Kevin Williams and Lonnie R. Williams.

She was born in Yoakum, Texas, Thursday, January 12, 1928, to Herman Edwards and Maple Rainey Edwards, and passed away Sunday, April 28, 2002 at St. Luke Hospital, Houston, Texas.

Her warm spirit will be remembered by those who knew her.

Survivors include: husband, Willie Wylie of Sweeny; children; grandchildren; and other relatives and a family of many friends.

Funeral services for Willie Wylie, Sr. 85, of Sweeny, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 7, 2006 at Bethlehem A.M.E. Church, Old Ocean, Texas. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery in Van Vleck.

Visitation will be from 3 until 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home chapel.

He was born in Van Vleck, Texas, October 20, 1920, to Jeff Wylie and Lillie Wiggins Wylie, and passed away June 3, 2006, in Sweeny, Texas.

Survivors include: three daughters, Wilma Manning (and David), Joyce Clark and devoted son-in-law Jeff, and Angela Dumes (and Floyd), all of Sweeny; and four sons, Willie Wiley, Jr. (and Linda), and William Baugh (and Judy) all of Bay City, Larry Amey (and Ruby) of Sweeny, and Terry Baugh of Old Ocean. Also one sister, Pauline Bradford of Bay City and one brother, Felix Wiley of Port Lavaca; 15 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren, and three step-children, Matthew Mouton, Cher Taylor and Diane Fields; special friends, Larry Baugh and Mike Walker; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
