Myrna Lewis Foston
Funeral services for Myrna Lewis Foston, 49, of Richmond, will be held
at noon Thursday, March 24, 2005, at St. John Baptist Church in Van
Vleck, with the Rev. Ruben Newell, pastor, and the Rev. Charles Foston,
eulogist.
Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 until 9 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home
chapel.
She was born in Bay City, Texas, February 13, 1956, to Prince Lewis and
Olivia Murry Lewis, and passed away March 18, 2005 in Richmond, Texas.
Survivors include: her husband, the Rev. Charles Foston of Richmond; one
daughter, Lolita James and Gilbert of Lake Jackson; two sons, Woodard
Smith and Tychicus Foston; two step-sons, Charles Foston, Jr. and Romeo
Foston, all of Richmond; her parents, Olivia Lewis of Van Vleck, and
Prince Lewis, Sr. of Bay City; seven sisters, Elaine Lewis of Houston,
Patricia Hudgins of Van Vleck, Valerie Austin of Cedar Lane, Diane
Dudley and Charles of West Columbia, Catherine Jones and Ricky, and
Sherry Lewis, all of Lake Jackson, and Rosalind Alexander of Clute; four
brothers, Glennie Lewis of Van Vleck, Eddie Harris and Sandra, Prince
Robertson and Prince Lewis, Jr. , all of Bay City; also a host of aunts,
uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Arrangements are with Duncan-Roberts Funeral Home in Bay City.

Althea Franklin
Van Vleck—Althea Franklin, 92, of Van Vleck, died Sunday, Feb. 26 2006.
She was born Oct. 21, 1913, in Allenhurst, to the late Cornelius and
Amey Mills Hayes. She was church secretary at Second Mt. Zion Baptist
Church and later joined St. John Baptist Church. She was a member of the
Order of the Golden Circle and Heroines of Jericho.
Preceded in death by: husbands, C. L. Singletary and Henry Franklin;
daughters, Willie L. Brown and Bonnie F. Porter; sister, Addie McNeil;
one grandson; and one step-grandson.
Survivors: daughter, Amey Coulter of Van Vleck; son, Cornelius
Singletary of Van Vleck; 10 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and
11 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be 1 – 8 p. m. Saturday at St. John’s Baptist Church in
Van Vleck, the Rev. Ruben Newell officiating.
Burial will be at St. John’s Cemetery in Van Vleck. Green’s Mortuary Bay

Franklin, 44, of Bay City died at Matagorda General Hospital Sunday,
December 7. His church affiliation was Baptist.
Survivors
include: mother, Mrs. Zelma Young; wife, Mrs. Geraldine Franklin of Bay
City; daughters, Mrs. Katie Mae Flye, Ms. Carol Ann Adams, Ms. Dorthy
Rene Dykes; son, Curtis Jones; sisters, Mrs. Joyce Johnson, Mrs. Jessie
M. Keith, Mrs. Edna Clay; brothers, Leon Matthews, Eugene Franklin; 2
aunts, 1 uncle, 7 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and
friends.
Funeral
services will be held at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church Saturday,
December 13, at 2 pm with Rev. A. Franklin officiating. Interment will
follow at St. John Cemetery, Van Vleck. Visitation hours are Friday
evening, December 12.
Active
pallbearers are J. Flye, James Dykes, Harry Brown, Lawrence Johnson,
Clifton Johnson, Edwards Allen Jr., R. Knapp and Jessie James Clay.
Honorary pallbearers are Leon Matthews, Eugene Franklin, La Vann
Anderson and Jone W. Brown.

Roosevelt Franklin, Sr.
Funeral services for Mr. Roosevelt Franklin, Sr., age 74, of Bay City,
will be held Saturday, November 4th, at 2:00 p. m., at
Enterprise Baptist Church in Bay City, with Rev. Kevin O. Johnson
officiating. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery in Van Vleck.
Visitation will be Friday until 9 p. m. in the Chapel of Duncan-Roberts
Funeral Home, and Saturday from 1 til 2 p. m. at the church.
Mr. Franklin was born in Van Vleck, Texas, Tuesday, January 18, 1921, to
July Franklin and Margaret McPherson Franklin, and died Sunday, October
29, 1995, at his residence in Bay City.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Joyce Price of Yoakum, Mrs. Rosie
Lee Chappell, Mrs. Erma Johnson and Ms. Boyce Franklin, all of Bay City,
and two sons, Roosevelt Franklin, Jr., and Alfred Lee Franklin, Jr. and
Alfred Lee Franklin of Houston. He leaves 24 grandchildren, 24
great-grandchildren, and six sisters, Mrs. Lee Anna Lewis of LaMarque,
Mrs. Annie Wilcox, Mrs. Josephine Drake, Mrs. Dorothy DeLoach, Mrs.
Bernice Williams and Mrs. Mary Lee DeLoach, all of Bay City. Also two
brothers, Saul Andrews of Hitchcock and Samuel Andrews of Houston. Also
four sisters-in-law, Mrs. Effie J. Hall and Mrs. Frances Gardner of
Yoakum, Mrs. Dorothy Franklin of LaMarque and Mrs. Loretta Franklin, and
one brother-in-law, Robert Gardner of Yoakum.
He leaves a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Caldwell Franklin, parents,
July and Margaret Franklin, five sisters, Bernice Franklin, Alva
Franklin, Hattie Franklin, Ora Lee Franklin and Cleo Gray and five
brothers, Willie Franklin, Jessie Franklin, Cammie Franklin, Luther
Franklin and Raymond Franklin.
Active pallbearers will include Jake Fields, Jr., Sam Williams, James
Robinson, Genrta Drake, Richard S. Drake and Michael Franklin.
Honorary pallbearers will include Alfred Franklin, Roosevelt Franklin,
Jr., Kenneth Wilcox, Mitchell Wilcox, Van Johnson, Chris Johnson and
Robert Gardner. Arrangements with Duncan-Roberts Funeral Home in Bay
