Funeral services for Marilyn Donley Sanford, 36, of Markham will held at 11 a. m. Saturday, July 17, 1999, at St. John Baptist Church in Van Vleck, with Rev. Ruben Newell, pastor, presiding, and Rev. James Ashton, Jr., eulogist. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday until 9 p. m. in the chapel of Duncan-Roberts Funeral Home and from 10-11 a. m. Saturday at the church. Ms. Sanford was born in Bay City, Thursday, Aug. 8, 1962, to Elmo Donley and Eloise Miller Gibson. She died Sunday, July 11 at Southwest Memorial Hospital in Houston. Her church membership began early at St. John Baptist Church and continued at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Markham. She was a 1980 graduate of Van Vleck High School and attended Prairie View A & M University. She later received an Associate Degree in Business Administration from Wharton County Junior College. Her employment included positions with The Daily Tribune, South Texas, Project, Hawkins Law Firm, and Matagorda General Hospital. Ms. Sanford is survived by a son, Jeremy Sanford of Markham; father, Elmo Donley of West Columbia; sister, Hedi Louise Grice of West Columbia; two aunts, Ruth Ashton (and James, Sr.) of Van Vleck and Equilla Morris of Galveston; uncle, Rev. Harold Williams (and Veree) of Van Vleck; mother-in-law, Myrtle George of Markham; father-in-law, Preston Allen of Bay City; one niece; two nephews; a host of cousins and other relatives; numerous in-laws; and many friends including devoted cousin and friend, Daisy Alliniece. She was preceded in death by her mother Eloise and her grandparents. Active pallbearers will be Freddie Allen, Jr., Michael Alliniece, Sr., James Alexander, Wilkie Edison, Rev. Larry Griggs, Garland Johnson, Leroy Johns, Earnest Pettit, III, Oliver Thomas, and Ricky Woodard, Sr. Honorary pallbearers will be Christopher Brown, Kevin Grice, Ricardo Mata, Andre Roberson, John Farris, Jr., Rev. James Ashton, Jr., Gary Ashton, Sr., Marvin Ashton, Michael Alliniece, Sr., the deacons of Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, and the Van Vleck class of 1980. Funeral services for Ever Lina Sardinea, 58, of Houston, will be held at 3 p. m. Saturday, March 17, 2007, at Mother Zion Baptist Church, Bay City, Eulogist will be the Rev. Robert Jones, pastor of Greater Mr. Horeb Baptist Church, 9201 Ashville Rd., Houston. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery in Van Vleck. She was born in Bay City, Texas, June 4, 1948, to Ameleo Sardinea, Sr., and Rosie Lee Davis Sardinea, and passed away March 11, 2007 in Houston. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p. m. Friday at the funeral home chapel. Survivors include; two daughters, Runa Flowers (and Reginald); and one son, Amidd Sardinea (any Myree), all of Houston. Levo Sardinea, 70, of Rosharon died April 25 at the Jennie Sealy Hospital in Galveston. Survivors include: wife, Mrs. Erma Lee of Rosharon; two daughters Mody Tickett of Arcola and Stella Lee Banks of Rosharon; three step sons; two sisters, Everline Toussant and Delphina Brown of Houston; two brothers, Cedo Sardinea Sr. of Markham and Charlie Williams of Rosharon; two grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 28, at 1:30 p. m. at the Elion Baptist Church in Rosharon with Rev. O. L. Gyssou officiating. Interment will be at St. John’s Cemetery in Van Vleck. Gardner’s Funeral Home in Angleton in charge of arrangements.

Cornelius Henderson Singletary affectionately known as “CH” 84, was born December 3, 1938, to Clifton Singletary and Althea Hayes Singletary in Van Vleck, Texas. His earthly journey came to an end on Friday, March 17, 2023, at Oak Village Healthcare, Lake Jackson, Texas. He leaves to mourn, his wife, Rosie Marie Singletary; children, Johnny Singletary, Tommy Singletary (Tiffany), Amey Singletary; stepsons, Kenneth Grice (Alzenia) and Eddie Grice (Nancy); ten grandchildren; four great grandchildren; as well a host of other loved ones. Funeral services will be Saturday, March 25, 2023, at 1 p.m. at St. John Baptist Church, Van Vleck, Texas. Visitation will be on Friday, March 24, 2023, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Lakeside Memorial Chapel, 3318 Avenue D, Bay City, Texas. Travis Singletary, 25, of Van Vleck, died in an accident Friday, on FM 521, 14 miles east of Bay City. He was born April 23, 1954 in Bay City. Survivors include his wife Charolette, Bay City; two daughters, Myesha, Bay City and Tausha Rogers of Houston; his father, Travis Jackson, Houston; mother, Mrs. Amey Coulter, Van Vleck; one brother, Freddie Allen Jr.; two sisters, Teresa Allen and Paula Bryant, all of Van Vleck; grandmothers, Aletha Franklin, Van Vleck and Mrs. Nancy Jackson, Bay City; seven aunts, two uncles and four great-aunts. The body will lie in state Sunday from 4 p. m. until 9 p. m. in the Duncan-Roberts chapel. Services will be held Monday at 1 p. m. in the St. John Baptist Church in Van Vleck with the Rev. A. A.
