BACH posted by Lisa Bartz on Sunday, October 28, 2001

I have a query about the surname BACH. I found where they came to Platte Center in 1892 after they came from Germany. Father's name was Johann Jakob Bach and wife was Marie Anna Bach. Their land was registered under John Bach in the 1900 census. That is where they have gone when they came from Prussia, Germany but that is where my dead end is. They actually had 6 children. Margaretha, Peter, Ludwig, Melanie, John, and Maria. Margaretha was my grandmother's mother. I am trying to find out more for her and would like to know what kind of records I can purchase from Platte County that might show the marriages, deaths, etc information. Thank you.

FLOYD, JAYMES, MCDONALD posted by Jeanne Schmunk on Tuesday, April 2, 2002

I am trying to find my great grandparents, WILLIAM FLOYD, b. circa 1840 in PA, and ANNA McDONALD FLOYD, b circa 1840 in Scotland. Their son, WILLIAM FLOYD (b 1862 in CLARINDA, IA) and his wife ANNA MAY JAYMES (b 1865 in Harrisburg, PA) were Quakers, and their first son, JOHN FLOYD, was born on 12/22/1884 in COLUMBUS, NE. On 9/20/1886, ARCHIE FLOYD, b circa 1862 in IA, was married in COLUMBUS and listed his parents as William Floyd and Anna McDonald Floyd, which leads me to believe Archie is William's brother and that the senior Floyds must still be living somewhere in the vicinity in 1886.

Sophia Maria Wilhelmina Schultz was born June 18, 1866 in Mecklenburg, Germany, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Schultz. She came to the United States with her parents in 1867. The family settled first in Middleton, Wisconsin. After a few years the family moved to Nebraska. On Sept. 1, 1884 Sophia Schultz was married in Columbus, NE to Henry Lubker. What happened to her parents, John and Fredericka Schultz, of Platte County, NE ? In THE HISTORY OF PLATTE COUNTY NEBRASKA By Margaret Curry, Page 828 there is a "write up" of a Patrick Murray. In the article it states that he married July 3, 1892 Fredericka Schultz, the dau. of John and Fredericka Schultz, of Platte County. The article also mentions the sister, Sophia, who married Henry Lubker. Does anyone have further information about this John Schultz family of Platte County?
