Looking for any info and connections- Johann KUMPF, Elizabeth (ERB) KUMPF wife, Louise Kumpf daughter, married Henry GROTELUSCHEN, scout for Buffalo Bill and then homesteaded near Shell Creek. I have traced John Kumpf back to birthplace of Berlin and the Erb family back as far as 1620 at Freisenheim, Baden, Germany. Also William Wurdeman, Eliza Engelbart wife (may have been illegitimate) and may have taken Engelbart name as she worked for that family. Both were born at Oldenburg, Germany. Mrs Leona Loeske, now deceased, did a fabulous job of compiling and assembling info on the Kumpf family, articles on Steerage Class Travel, Castle Garden (Port of Entry at NY), and conditions in Imperial Germany in the 1800's.
