I am searching for parents and sibling of William Whooley, born abt 1720 in Augusta of
Botetourt County, Virginia. Wm was reputed to be a farmer and a surveyor. He married Barbary ??
Unknown. Need to find her maiden name and parents, place of birth, etc. William and Barbary had 9
children, all of the children were born in Augusta Co, Va, namely

researching these lines, I have a lot of information on the Whooleys ( various spelling
Wooley/ Owley - Ky recd's/ Oley/ Owley/ spelling changed in Indiana
to Ooley, for some, others were able to keep the Wooley spelling)
We know that
Wm & Barbary sold their farm abt 1788 and their children had already gone to Ky, they are all
listed in the 1790 Kentucky Census.

I am looking for for more information concerning (parents county of birth in Virginia etc) of
William James Wilson born-about 1774/1775 in Virginia. A marriage record in Rutherford
County NC list his wife as Miss Nance Haney about 1803. Census records for Yancey County
NC list he resided with his son Phillip in 1840, 1850, 1860. His children are listed:

CONKEY, GILMORE -
Looking for help in locating a Gilmore/Conkey connection in the late 1700's,
probably after 1750. One of my ancestors was named John Conkey Gilmore. We can not locate
either parent. His Y-DNA is Native American, possibly of Algonquin origin. He 1st shows up in KY
in 1802, but his grandsons thought he might have been from VA. Does anyone have any information?

given indicates the marriage took place in Cumberland Gap, VA; however, I found her obit which
states it was Shawanda, TN. I cannot find Shawanda, TN on current state map. Her obit states she
was born in Claiborne, TN on 07 Mar 1870. Any help would be appreciated!!!

I would like to know if you have any thing on the father of William Solomon Nicholas born
about 1814 -1817 in Virginia. I believe it to be in Cabell County, West Virginia, of course it
would not have been Cabell County back then. Or not even West Virginia. In the 1880 census it
lists his father as being born in England. Of course it didn't give a given name. Would

and is on the 1900 Census in the Cypress District, VA, can't read the county on the Census. He
does not appear on the 1910 Census, but his wife Delia does and it states she's a widow.

I was born in Roda Virginia 7/14/1949 I have two older sisters also born there. My mother was
Edith Farr 3/27/1929 and my fathers was Henry James Needham. My grandmother was
Hazel Carter and grandfather was Polk Farr. He was a miner there and was killed in
a mining accident in 1929 my mother was 6 days old. All I know is he was 20 when he died and was
born in Tennessee. I am trying to find any information on my family . My mother died 12/15/1999
and I have never had contact with Henry Needham. I have some pictures and a couple letters
from my oldest living great aunt Helen . I hope there is a way to find anyone that may be family
or know of my family.
My mother moved to Chicago when I was about four and never talked about
the past. It seemed too hard for her, being raised by a stepfather who never wanted her. She left
school around the third year. Any help or direction would be great. Thank you

1818. Then settled in Bibb County, Alabama on a land grant plantation. I believe that his father

Francis J. Hart was one of my grandfather's brothers. He was born 9/16/1899 in Dunkirk,
IN. According to an internet SSDI search and a minimal amount of family info, I am fairly certain
he died somewhere in Virginia in February 1964. He and his wife, Geneva, were resided in Myncie,
IN in 1930. My grandfather's obit indicated he may have been living in Connersville, IN in
December 1960. I would greatly appreciate any info about Francis, his wife, children,

Seek information on a Cornelius Bryant who came from Ireland and settled somewhere in VA
prior to Revolutionary War. He would be a 3rd great- grandfather to me. I know he had a least one
son names Reuben (note some information shows his name as Cornelius also). Reuben lived in IL and
married Agnes Sims and died in IL about 1862. It is believed that Reuben and Agnes had 8
children, one who was also named Cornelius M. Bryant, who lived in IL, married A Sarah
Elmore and moved to CA. Happy to exchange information with anyone who can tell me anything
about the Cornelius born in Ireland.

Seeking information on my great grandfather, William Henry Isbell, born ca. 1842, died
1900.
Was a cobbler in the Confederate Army ... injured on the first day of the Battle of
Gettysburg, captured the second day and taken to a Union Hospital where his shattered leg was
amputated ... Hence bore the nickname "Peg Leg".
He reportedly had a cobbler shop at the
Hanover Inn/Hotel. Also reportedly operated a ferry over the Pamunkey River.
He married Annie
(Anna) Bullard. They had 8 children; my grandfater, Edward Ruthwin Isbell was one
of his sons.

Edward Collins b. 1816 Russell Co., Va. Possibly to Isaac Collins or Issac
Collins and Nancy Blackburn. Sure about Edward, Not sure about parents. Have
Edward's civil war pension records. He married 1. Elizabeth unknown 1840 & had ch: George b. 1840
- John Edward b. 1842 - Edward b. 1844 - Mary, Susan, James Etc.,. They show up in Russell Co.,
Va census 1860. All data names, dates etc, match family records. Need maiden name for Elizabeth;
thought it may be Scalf. An Elizabeth Scalf was born 1816 in Russell Co., Va and
married an unknown Collins. Again just a guess. My Elizabeth Collins died 1872 in
Boyd County KY near Laural Creek. Edward than married 2. Susan Paine,
Varney, White in Wayne Co., WVA 1877 and returned with her to his farm in Boyd Co.,
Ky. Susan's statement in pension records claim Edward may also have been called Isaac - possible
link to parent ??? Now have Edward ; the rest is still a brick wall.

I am hoping for information on Annie (McKinney or Brown) Smith born 15 July
1819 (I believe Virginia) married William Edward or Charles Edward Smith 4 Dec 1833(in
Virginia?). She died abt 1912 in Warren County, Tennessee and is buried at Charles Creek
Cemetery, Warren, Tennessee. I'm unsure of her maiden name because in looking at death records at
High's Funeral Home in McMinnville, Warren, TN: my grandfather has one name for his
mother and one of his siblings had the other surname. I'm at a dead end on 'Grannie Annie'. Being
a Smith doesn't help much in researching Genealogy :) ! My grandfather was William Edward
'Willie' Smith born 6 Jan 1881 died 18 Dec 1927. My great-grandfather was Charles(Charley)
Vinson Smith (C.V.).
He was born 17 Mar 1856, died 2 Mar 1944. Willie and C.V. are
both buried at Blues Hill Cemetery, Warren County.
Charles Edward or William Edward
(I'm told he went by Coonie) Smith was born 1 Jan 1818- died ca. 1927 in Warren County. He
is buried at Kirby Cemetery, Warren County. His wife Annie is buried at Charles
Creek Cemetery, Warren County. I don't know why they were buried at different cemeteries.
About a mile apart-maybe. I have children's names but I'll not add them right now.

Looking for any information on Albert M. Parks - Grayson County, VA. He was born Oct. 23,
1900 died Jan.25, 1974 in Radford, VA. He married Martha Jane Radliff who died at age 41.
He remarried Nancy Shrader (sp). He raised 4 children and 1 adopted child. This is my
grandfather and I am seeking as much information that I can locate on him. I know some(as you can
see) but I would like to know who his parents were and so forth. Thank you for any help that you

ELLIOTT, HERRING, MILLIGAN -
I am researching Henry C. Elliott. Born 11/18/1823 in Kentucky. Married Sarah
Herring in 1849, Kentucky. Henry died 9/15/1856 Boone County, MO. Buried at Walnut
Grove Cemetery, Lancaster, MO. Sarah apparently took the children (Katherine (Belle?),
William A (My gr. grandfather) James R. and Henry C....back to Kentucky as census records show
her in 1860 in Garrard County and there are other Herrings listed. I am unable to find his
parents..and I cannot find the death date and place of Sarah. Sarah born 1824 in Garrard Co. KY.
I show the children living with Sallie Milligan, Strasbury, Cass, MO in 1880..which makes
me think Sarah passed away before that date. Although, the "children" are older at that time.

Trying to put family tree together for my family from Chincoteague, Accomack County,VA. I'm back
to 1820 to James Clavill, born circa 1820 in Accomack, VA, married to Mary (Unknown).
Can't pinpoint his father since censuses at that time only listed name of "head of household".
I've found a George Clavill in 1820 census with a male son under 10 yrs of age. Also found
a Peter Clavel, born in Accomack abt 1680 and died in Worcester, MD 1745, married
Lucretia. He maybe the early beginning for all Clavels, Clayvills, etc. Land
records show he lived west of Parksley, VA while in Accomack Cty. My window of lost information
lies between Peter Clavel 1680 and James Clavill 1820. Doesn't help since the name
has been mispelled over the centuries. Any help deeply appreciated. Thanking you now...Bob C

Russell fam are from my mother,'s maternal side I know that Ruell Russell and
Priscilla Boyd, Russell are my gggrt. And that their son, my ggrt. Andrew Wilson
Russell, moved to Clay co. Mo Liberty With his family and married widow Anna Wiley,
Trigg. and had their children there. I have all that. But I am looking for their dau.
Josephine,'s mother-in-law's fam. Mother-in-law is Mazilla Russell b. Oct. 1824 in Va(?WVa)
The last thing I have of her is the head count done here in IL Crawford Co. in the twp of Oblong.
And I also know she died before the 1900 census for that county. and that her husb. Cyrus
Mitchell wasn't there he was living with thier youngest son (my ggrt) Geo. Washington
Mitchell and wife (Josephine Mildred Russell) in Richland co. in the twp of Olney
until 1903 when all 3 of them moved to Coles co. in the twp of Mattoon, IL. where Cyrus,
Josephine died and Geo remarried and died in 1934 in Crawford co. and buried with his wife and
dau and grandau and his father and my mother. But nothing was mentioned of Mazilla died before
Cyrus or anything of Mazilla. by the Mattoon Gazzett or Mattoon Journal. Or any local papers
where she was living.
So you see I have nothing of her before dec.1845

Roberts fam. is my husband,'s mother,'s paternal side; this is what I have . James E.
Roberts b. 1835 Va his mother is Susannah born 1877 Va his father?? b.//Va He married
Sarah? they had James W. 1864, John 1866, Charles Winston july 13,1868 (grandfather of my husb.)
They went to Ky and in the Adair co.census by 1880 where Charles was about to be 2. They lived in
Gradysville, Leatherwood prect. I have all the up to date info. but nothing before 1880. I dont
know if John James and Charles were born in Ky,Va,N.C. as was said in the 1910 census in Adair
co.Ky. I know James E. died before 1900 in Adair ?? and his mother also.

Richard G Coleman 1841 in E.VA died 1894 in Carnegie PA; Eliza Jane Coleman 1838 in
VA died in Carnegie PA 1881, I was told that Eliza was Indian,
Their other children were:
Susan Ann, Richard jr, George, Lilley, Ellen, Howard, Katie, John, Sarah.
They all lived in
Carnegie when it was called Mansfield Boro before 1894, When the name was changed to Carnegie Pa.
I can not seem to find anything else out about them. I know that Eliza and Richard Both were
Born in VA and came to PA but it is unknown to me what his fathers name was Or where his father
lived. And the same for Eliza Jane.
Can You give me some tips to locate The Coleman's of VA.
There were other names in the bible Johnson from VA, Anderson from VA,
Pulpress, Hill, and as I stated above Aston.
My search started when I
realized My grand dads real name was Coleman and not Butler as we go by to this
day. Thank you

Lemuel B. Hill. Had Sister Parthena who married a John Howell, from the
Howell's of SC. Migrated to MS in 1830's, then to Texas republic in 1839. I am hoping
there is a connection to a Hartwell Hill of Brunswick County VA. If anyone has info on

Have been searching (for years) for the parentage of a William S. Thomas (my great x3
grandfather) who was born in Virginia in 1812 (+ or -), was possibly 1 of 10 children. He married
Elizabeth Lithgo Waite in IL in 1840. They had 7 children (Charles, Edward, Lucinda,
Henry, George, William Jr., and Richard). William S. was an attorney and a farmer and lived in IL
from approx. 1840 until his death in Belleville, IL in 1879. Any info on William's exact birth

to be correct. Hessie married Frazier M. (Monroe) Lingar in 1896, possibly in Virginia.

I am researching William Hill (confirmed) who married Catherine Stacy 1745
Overwharton Parish Records (OPR). I believe that his father was John Hill who died in 1743
(OPR). John's Stafford Co. will states that his widow was Elizabeth M. Hill. A John
Hill and Elizabeth Mahoney married in 1716 in St. Paul's Parish. I also have a will
of William Hill (wives Anne Chiswell and Alice Costello) which states that:
"Grandson William Hill, son of John Hill, -one ten shilling ring". Dates and area
are a fit but no proof. Can anyone help?

Canada after the American Revolution. John, George, Henry, Atsbury, Sterling and Sugar
King along with Rebecca, a child. We also have Proctor's and Halls and
Reynold's in the family. They were in South Carolina regiments.
Henry states that he
is from Va. as his father before him. The Proctor's are from Lawns creek, Isle of Wight

I'm looking basically for a needle in a hay stack. The only info I have on this man is his name
is Thomas C. Groom(e)s and according to an 1880 census, was born in 1835 in Virginia. He
was living in Jefferson, KS at this time, married to Suzannah, with a daughter named Essie, age
3. I found that they bought property in Cedarvale, KS. The deed showed that his wife went by
Anna. Anna is showed being born in IA about 1855. Thomas died there in 1892 from an accident and
is buried there. This is all I really can give you. I know its a small needle, but if you could
help in anyway, I would appreciate it.

Joseph Lomas who was born in VA (probably around 1836) and later moved to IL. I believe
his father's name was also Joseph and he was from England. I searched the database but couldn't
