Berilla Lane

Edna—Berilla Lane, 87, of Edna died Saturday, May 13, 1995.

She was born July 10, 1995, in Edna to the late Robert Dawson and Annie Boston. She was a retired cook and a member of Scruggs United Methodist Church.

Survivors: sisters, Adeline Johnson of Victoria and Angeline Ware of Edna; brother, Albert Ware Jr. of Corpus Christi; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by son, Robert Reed Jr.

Visitation: noon – 8 p. m. Wednesday, Scruggs United Methodist Church, the Rev. Lawrence Washington officiating.

Burial: Sayles Cemetery, Cook-Butler Funeral Home, Edna, 782-3821.

Lee Lane

Edna—Funeral services for Lee Lane, 76, of Edna will be held at 2 p. m. Friday from the Peabody Street Church of Christ, with O. S. Scranton officiating.

Burial will be in the Sayles Cemetery under direction of the Cook Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be U. J. Collier, Walter Lane, Sammy Callis, Major Dennis, Ralph Cormier and Garfield Fisher. Honorary pallbearers will be Elijah Diggs, Loyal Stafford, Ralph Robinson, Bishop Gibson, A. B. Clay Sr. and D. J. Jordan.

Mr. Lane was born Sept. 20, 1899 in Jackson County, and was a retired employee of a lumber firm. He died Tuesday [October 7, 1975] in a Bryan hospital.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Rose Lane of Edna; seven daughters, Mrs. Irva Fisher of Edna, Mrs. Lepetta Collier of Dallas, Mrs. Callie Turner of Bryan, Mrs. Minnie Cormier of Goliad, Miss Carlen Lane of Houston, and Mrs. Ola Mopkins and Mrs. Ora Tyler, both of Detroit Mich.; three sons, Lee Lane Jr. and Wayman, both of Fort Worth and Roger of Edna; two sisters, and two brothers; 26 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Rose E. Lane

AUSTIN—Rose Ella Lane, 89, of Austin, formerly of Edna, died Monday, Jan. 11 1993.

She was born Sept. 3, 1903 in Yoakum to the late Willie and Sally Lee Lane Jones. She was a homemaker. She also was Communion Steward, Class Leader and a choir member at Scruggs United Methodist Church.

Survivors: daughters, La Petta Collier of Dallas, Callie Turner of Bryan, Minnie Cermier of Port Lavaca, Ivra Gilbert and Karlen Lane, both of Austin and Ora Hudson and Ola Mopkins, both of Detroit, Mich.; sons, Waymon Lane of Fort Worth and Roger Lane of Austin; sisters, Alberta Johnson and Littie Carr, both of Los Angeles, Calif. and Minnie Jones of Dallas; 27 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Visitation: noon to 8 p. m. Friday at Cook-Butler Funeral Home chapel.

Services: 1 p. m. Saturday at Scruggs United Methodist Church, Edna, the Rev. Morris Daughtery Sr. officiating.

Burial: Sayles Cemetery, Cook-Butler Funeral Home, Edna, 782-3821.

Roger W. Lane

Roger William Lane, 57, of Victoria, died Tuesday, July 15, 2003.

He was born April 25, 1946, in Edna, to the late Lee Sr. and Rose Jones Lane. He was a retired water management technician and member of Scruggs United Methodist Church.

Survivors: wife, Barbara Lane of Corpus Christi; sons, Michael Lane and Mack Lane, both of Corpus Christi; sisters, LaPetta Collier of Dallas, Ivra Gilbert of Austin, Callie Turner of Bryan, Ola Mopkins and Ora Tyler, both of Detroit, Minnie Cormier of Port Lavaca and Karlen Lane of Austin; and brother, Wayman Lane of Fort Worth.

Preceded in death by: brother, Lee Lane Jr.

Visitation will be 1 – 8 p. m. Friday at Cook-Butler Funeral Home chapel.

Services will be 2 p. m. Saturday at Scruggs United Methodist Church, the Rev. Martin Williams officiating.

Walter Lane

Edna--Walter Lane, 71, died Sunday at his home in Edna.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Tuesday at Shiloh Baptist Church, with the Rev. S. H. Jackson officiating. Burial will be in Sayles Cemetery under direction of Cook Funeral Home.

Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Adella Bankhead of Edna and Mrs. Ida Jones of Kingsville; and four brothers, Albert Lane of Houston, Frank of San Antonio, and Marion and Lee of Edna.

Marcelo Lara

Marcelo Lara, 52, of Victoria, died Wednesday in a Victoria hospital.

He was born Jan. 16, 1928 in Victoria, and was employed by Brown & Root Co. before becoming ill.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p. m. Friday in Slavik Funeral Chapel in Edna, with the Rev. Joe Hybner of St. Agnes Catholic Church officiating.

A rosary will be recited at 7 p. m. Thursday in the Slavik Funeral Chapel in Edna.

Burial will be in the Edna Latin American Cemetery under direction of the Slavik Funeral Home of Edna.

Surviving are his wife, Sophie Lara of Victoria; four daughters, Yolanda Trevino, Mary Lara, Amey Lara and Violeta Lara, all of Victoria; three step-daughters, Gloria Garza of Houston, Sylvia Martinez and Diloa Sanchez, both of Victoria.

Also, four sons, Marcelo Lara Jr. of Alice, and John Marcelo Lara, Bernardo Lara and Adam Lara, all of Victoria; a stepson, Inocencio Sanchez of Houston; two sisters, Carmen Gajecho of Victoria and Niedes Reyna of Karnes City; a brother, Nasario Lara of Karnes City and two half brothers, Alfredo Trevino of Karnes City and Ray Castillo of Victoria; and 15 grandchildren.

Sophie Nava Lara

Victoria—Sophie Nava Lara, 87, of Victoria, died Saturday, July 21, 2007. She was born June 23, 1920, in Edna, to the late Isabel Uresti and Jesus Nava. She was a homemaker and a Catholic.

She is survived by her daughters, Gloria Garza, Diola “Dee” Zamora, and Sylvia Fuentes, all of Victoria; son, Enocencio “Sam” Sanchez of Victoria; sisters, Esther Valdez and Dale Gromer, both of Victoria; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Sostenes Sanchez and Marcelino Lara; sisters, Maggie De La Garza and Ann Nava; three brothers, Jesse Nava, Dan Nava, and Morris Nava; and grandchildren, Vanessa Jasso Sanchez and Steven Villarreal Sanchez.

Visitation will begin at 2 p. m. today, with a rosary recited at 7 p. m., at Artero Memorial Chapels in Victoria.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a. m. on Monday at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, with Fr. Gabriel Otoo officiating.

Burial will be at Edna Latin American Cemetery.

Phil Larry

Edna—Funeral services for Phil Larry of Houston will be held at 2 p. m. Saturday from the Peabody Church of Christ in Edna, with O. S. Scranton officiating.

Burial will be in the Sayles Cemetery near Edna. Johnson Funeral Home of Houston is in charge of arrangements, assisted here by the Cook Funeral Home.

Mr. Larry was a native of Jackson County, but had lived several years in Houston. He died in the hospital there Wednesday after a lingering illness.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Edwina Larry of Houston; his mother, Mrs. Delia Gibson of Edna; three daughters, Brenda, Debra and Shawnee, all of Houston; one son, Phil Jr. of Houston, and two sisters and six brothers.

John Gordon Laughter, Jr.

John Gordon Laughter, Jr., passed away on May 31, 2017. He was born on Dec. 18, 1919, in Jackson County to the late John Gordon Laughter, Sr. and wife Carrie Kone Fisher Laughter, both descendants of pioneer Texan settlers.

He was educated in the Edna schools, Schreiner College in Kerrville and A&I College in Kingsville. He was a licensed civil engineer, retired from TxDOT.

He is survived by his daughter Katherine Francis Laughter Kamal of Cairo, Egypt and nieces and nephews.

John is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Annalee Laughter Ratliff and Mary Laughter Frels of Edna; and a brother, William Pierce Laughter, a member of the U.S. Marine Corp who was KIA on Okinawa June 21, 1945.

He was a member of the Masonic Fraternities for over 70 years and Past Master of both Edna and Victoria Masonic Lodges. He was a 32 degree Scottish Rite KCCH, a Knight Templar and a Noble of Al Amin Shrine of Corpus Christi.

He was a member of the Winthrop Society; his forbearers having come to Massachusetts Bay Colony with Lord Winthrop in 1630.

He was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution, Sons of the Republic of Texas and Sons of Confederate Veterans. He served his county in World War II for over four years both as an enlisted man and an officer in the U.S. Army in the United States, England, France and Belgium.

Graveside service was Saturday, June 3, at 2 p.m. at the Texas Historical Commission W. P. Laughter Cemetery located northwest of Edna.

Arrangements are under the direction of Oaklawn Funeral Home in Edna 361-782-2221.

Desiderio Leal

Edna—Desiderio “Lelo” Leal, 77, of Edna, died Tuesday in a Victoria hospital.

A retired businessman and native of Nixon, he was born Feb. 11, 1911, to the late Refugio and Rosa Alvarez Leal.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a. m. Thursday at the St. Agnes Catholic Church with the Rev. Michael O’Shaughnessy officiating.

Burial will follow the services in Edna Latin American Cemetery under the direction of Slavik Funeral Home.

Surviving are his wife, Juanita Farias Leal of Ganado; three daughters, Rose Flores of Houston, Hope Cafazos of Edna, Sylvia Garcia of Brazoria; four sons, Lupe Leal of Dallas, Rudy Leal of Louise, Alex and Robert Leal of Ganado; a sister, Petra Martinez of Corpus Christi; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Desi, Troy, Elroy, Randy and Daniel Leal, Chris Cavazos, Pat Navarro and Rene Reyes.

Lena Jordan Lefridge

Edna—Lena Jordan Lefridge, 76, a native of Edna, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 8, 2015 in San Antonio. She was born March 30, 1939 in Edna to Dewy Jordan and Alma Duncan Jordan. She was a home maker.

A visitation will begin at 10 a. m. followed by a funeral service at 11 a. m. on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at Faith Temple COGIC, 607 Carver St., in Edna. Burial will take place at Sayles Cemetery.

Raymond LeFridge

Edna—Raymond LeFridge, 81, of Edna, died Friday, Sept. 24, 1999.

He was born Sept. 5, 1918, to the late Lewis and Mercy Goode LeFridge. He was a rice farmer.

Survivors: wife, Pauline Stovall LeFridge; daughters, Esther Polk, Ruth Wilson and Brenda Washington, all of Edna, Leola Stovall of Fannin and Theresa Stovall of Austin; son, Bobby Stovall of Edna; sisters, Elizabeth Jones, Jewel Brown and Alberta Yancy; brother, Roosevelt LeFridge; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at 1 p. m. and a wake service will be 6 p. m. today at Tracy’s M. J. Santellana Funeral Directors.

Mrs. Marjorie Lewis

Funeral services for Mrs. Marjorie Lewis will be held at 2 p. m. Friday in the Edna Church of Christ by Rev. W. M. Robinson.

Mrs. Lewis was fatally injured Friday, April 24, when she was crushed under her car as it rolled into the San Antonio River where she and her family were fishing.

She was 23 and is survived by her husband, Herman Lewis; two daughters, Connie and Gwendolyn; two sons, Rufus and Lewis(?);  Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Will William; two sisters, Joan Gipson of Edna and Shirley Gipson of Kansas City, Mo.; six brothers, J. B. and Clarence Williams of Houston, Cpl. Lorenzo Williams with the Army in Korea, Albert and Phil Williams of Edna and Lewis Williams of Ukih, Calif.

Burial will be in Sayles Cemetery in Edna under the direction of Lytle Funeral Home.

Mr. Charles Littlejohn Sr.

Edna—Funeral services for Charles Littlejohn Sr., 66, of Edna will be held at 2 p. m. Tuesday from the Scruggs United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Joe H. Carter officiating.

Mr. Littlejohn was born Oct. 12, 1907 in Tyler County. He lived in Jackson County 25 years and was a retired truck driver. He died Sunday in a local hospital.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Beatrice Littlejohn of Edna; a daughter, Gladys Littlejohn of Corpus Christi; two sons, Charles Jr. of Houston and Rudolph of Edna; two stepsons, M. B. and Leon Barnes, both of Edna, and six grandchildren.

Edna—Rudolph Otis Littlejohn, 79, of Edna, died Saturday, Aug. 7, 2004.

He was born May 23, 1925, in Tyler, to the late Charlie and Carrie Littlejohn. He was a rice farmer.

Mauderia Lofton

Edna—Mauderia Lofton, 74, of Edna, died Monday in Ganado after a lengthy illness.

She was born Oct. 10, 1911, in Edna to the late Ramey and Mary Jane Johnson.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p. m. from the Shiloh Baptist Church in Edna with Garry Roberts officiating.

Burial will follow in Sayles Cemetery under the direction of Cook-Butler Funeral home.

Surviving are three brothers, Jack Johnson, Mart; Collie Johnson and Leroy Johnson of Edna; and a sister Veola Hagen, Victoria.

Blas F. Lopez

Edna—Blas F. Lopez, 83, formerly of Edna, died Wednesday in a Palacios nursing home.

He was born Feb. 3, 1901 in Cuero, to Jose and Eugenia Fernandez Lopez. He married Theresa Figueroa Lopez.

A rosary will be recited at 8 p. m. Thursday at the Slavik Funeral Home chapel of Edna. Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Friday in St. Agnes Catholic Church of Edna, with the Rev. Joe Hybner officiating. Burial will be in the Edna Latin American Cemetery.

Surviving are his wife, now living in a Palacios nursing home; five daughters, Eulalio Lopez of El Campo, Mrs. Virginia Romo of Vanderbilt, Mrs. Dora Barrios of La Salle, Mrs. Eugenia Ruiz of Eagle Lake and Mrs. Porfiria Solis of Louise; three sons, Julian of San Jose, Calif., Daniel of Port Lavaca and Eusebio of Bay City; a brother, Narcisco of Victoria; 37 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Blasito Lopez

Edna—Funeral services for Blasito F. Lopez, 45, of Bryan will be held here at 10:30 a. m. Wednesday at the St. Agnes Catholic Church. A rosary will be recited at 8 p. m. Tuesday at the Slavik Funeral Chapel.

A Bryan police spokesman reported Lopez was found shot in his lounge, the Mi-Bestina, Sunday night. They said the case is still under investigation.

Burial will be in the Edna Latin American Cemetery under direction of Slavik’s. The floral committee will include Elida and Esmaralda Romo, and Emily and Lora Lopez. Pallbearers will be Lupe Lopez, Robert Barrios, Eugene Ruis, Andy Carlos, Camilo de Leon and Zeke Rueda.

Mr. Lopez was born Sept. 5, 1931 in Jackson County, and had lived out of the county the past 25 years. He died Monday in Bryan.

Surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Blas Lopez of Edna; wife, Cirilda of Bryan; son, Richard Carranza of Houston; four sisters, Virginia Romo of Vanderbilt, Dona Barrios of La Salle, Euginia Ruiz of Eagle Lake and Porfuria Solis of Louise; brothers, Julian of San Jose, Calif., Daniel of Port Lavaca, Euselio of Bay City and Eulalio of El Campo, and by two grandchildren.

Efrain Lopez Jr.

Edna—Efrain Lopez Jr., three-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Efrain Lopez Jr., died Sunday at a Ganado hospital following a short illness.

The boy was born Oct. 3, 1978 at El Campo.

Rosary will be recited at 8 p. m. Tuesday at Slavik Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a. m. Wednesday at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Edna with the Rev. John Bily officiating. Burial will be in Edna Latin American Cemetery.

Survivors, in addition to the parents, include a brother, Fermin, of Edna.

Elizabeth Lopez

Elizabeth Cosper Lopez, of Edna, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Friday morning, March 9, 2018, at the age of 80. She was born on Nov. 11, 1937, in El Toro, Texas to the late Floyd “Dick” and Verby Callaway Cosper.

Elizabeth was a member of the First Baptist Church and longtime member of VFW Auxiliary. She retired from Jackson Electric Co-op of Edna Texas after 41 years of service. Elizabeth was a loving mother, sister, sister-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and very dear friend who will be greatly missed.     Elizabeth is survived by her loving sons, Mark (Dolly) Lopez and Mike (Debbie) Lopez; brother, John (Diana) Cosper; sister-in-law, Jean Cosper; seven grandchildren, Samantha (Tyler) Coldwell, Stacy (Brandon) Tomas, Kara (Derek) Broussard, Kelsi (Cody) Coldewey, Kelsey (Jeffrey) Glover, Jamye (Casey) Muegge, and Jessica (Bobby) Doelitsch; 13 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Evelyn Wallace; brothers, Richard Cosper and Tommy Cosper.     Visitation was held Sunday, March 11, in the Oaklawn Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Service will begin at 10 a.m., on Monday, March 12, in the First Baptist Church of Edna with the Rev. Robert Krause officiating. Burial will follow in the Memory Gardens Cemetery in Edna.     Pallbearers will be Tyler Coldwell, Brandon Tomas, Jeffrey Glover, Casey Muegge, Bobby Doelitsch, and Scott Pearson.

Honorary Pallbearers are Derek Broussard, Cody Coldewey, Rodney Cosper, and Rocky Cosper.     In lieu of flowers, the family requests that Memorial Contributions be made to the South Texas Children Home, P.O. Vanderbilt—Gonzalo Lopez, 24, of Vanderbilt, died Friday, March 24, 2006

He was born Dec. 27, 1981, in Victoria, to Ray Jose and Elida Hernandez Lopez. He was a pipeline worker and a Catholic.

Survivors: wife, Sandra Banda Lopez; stepdaughter, D’eandra Dugan of Vanderbilt; sister, Janie Lopez of Vanderbilt; and brother, Ray Lopez of Victoria.

Vanderbilt—Jesus Lopez, 88, of Vanderbilt died Sunday, Feb. 2, 1997.

He was born March 22, 1908, in Aguascalientes, Mexico. He was a retired farmer and was a Catholic.

Survivors: daughters, Dora Ramos and Mary Lou Rivera, both of Dallas, Dominga Morin of Morehead, Minn., and Margarita Garza of Lubbock; sons, Paul Lopez of Placedo, Ray Lopez and Lupe J. Lopez, both of Vanderbilt and John Lopez of Dallas; 25 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and two great-gret-grandchildren.

Vanderbilt—Services for Josephine “Chapa” Lopez, 84, of Vanderbilt, who died Thursday, will be at 2 p. m. today at St. John Bosco Catholic Church in Vanderbilt, the Rev. Jim Deaconson officiating.

Pete Lopez

Edna—Funeral services for Pete Lopez, 21, of Vanderbilt will be held at 10 a. m. Saturday at the Slavik Funeral Chapel in Edna, with the Rev. Richard Toal officiating.

Burial will be in Edna Latin American Cemetery under direction of Slavik Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Ray, Paul, John and Lupe Lopez; and Serabio Riveria and Lieonel Morin.

Mr. Lopez, a native of Ganado, was killed Tuesday in a one-car accident about two miles north of Ganado. He was employed by a Louise lease service.

Theresa Lopez

Ganado—Theresa Figirova Lopez, 88, of Ganado, died Monday in a Victoria hospital.

A rosary will be recited at 7:30 p. m. Wednesday in the Slavik Funeral Home chapel.

Funeral services will be at 10 a. m. Thursday at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Edna with the Rev. Michael O’Shaughnessy officiating.

Burial will be in the Edna Latin American Cemetery under the direction of Slavik Funeral Home.

She was born Sept. 14, 1902, in Goliad, to the late Estanlado and Porfiria Cabera Figirova. She was a homemaker and had resided in Jackson County for 69 years.

Surviving are four daughters, Virginia Romo and Dora Barrios, both of Vanderbilt, Eugenia L. Ruiz of Eagle Lake and Porfiria Solia of El Campo; four sons, Julian Lopez of San Jose, Calif., Daniel Lopez of Port Lavaca, Eusebio Lopez of Bay City, and Lalo Lopez of El Campo; a sister, Serapia Garza of Victoria; 34 grandchildren; 63 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-greta-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Blas Lopez; and two sons, Lupe and Blasito Lopez.

Mrs. Margarett Lott

Mrs. Margarett Lott, 66, of Placedo, died at 4 a. m. Saturday in a local hospital following a year's illness.

A resident of Victoria County for five years, Mrs. Lott was born April 15, 1902, in Edna. She was a member of the Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p. m. Wednesday at Shiloh Baptist Church in Edna with the Rev. Denkins officiating. Burial will be in Sayles Cemetery near Edna under the direction of Lytle Funeral Home.

Surviving are her husband, William Lott of Placedo; a daughter, Mrs. Emma Lee Nick of San Mateo, Calif.; a son, Levell Jackson of Bloomington; four sisters, three brothers, one grandchild, four great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

William E. Lott

Edna—Funeral services for William E. Lott, 86, of Edna will be held at 1 p. m. Saturday at the Cook-Butler Chapel in Edna with Elder Bill Hasdoff officiating.

Burial will be in the Sayles Cemetery near Edna under direction of the Cook-Butler Funeral Home of Edna. Pallbearers will be James and Herman Green, Arnold, Andrew and Raymond Callis and James Ray Caesar.

Mr. Lott was born May 22, 1893, in Goliad, and was a laborer before his retirement. He died Monday in a Victoria rest home.

Surviving are two daughters, Loxie Lee Lott of Houston and Eva L. Smith of Edna; a son, F. D. Thurmond Lott of Houston; stepdaughter, Emma Lee Nick of San Mateo, Calif.; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Patsy Lueckemeyer

Patsy Lueckemeyer, 76, of Edna passed away on March 30, 2018, she was born on May 20, 1941 to Gilford T. Sr. and Alice Koop Roberson.

Patsy is survived by her daughter Lisa Seger and husband Vincent, son Lynn Lueckemeyer and wife Kelly, five grandchildren, Travis, Kris, Aaron, Ethan, and Ian and one brother, Gilford T. Roberson Jr.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Rabon, and brother Roy Harvey Roberson.

There was a visitation on April 2, at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church with Rev. Andrew Schroer officiating. Interment followed at Red Bluff Cemetery.

Clemencia Lugo

Edna—Funeral services for Clemencia Lugo, 32, of Edna will be held at 10 a. m. Monday at St. Agnes Catholic Church with the Rev. Jim Coindreau officiating. A rosary will be recited at 8 p. m. Sunday at Slavik Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will be in the Edna Latin American Cemetery.

Miss Lugo was born Feb. 19, 1944 in Edna. She died Friday in Austin after a long illness.

Surviving are her mother, Beatrice Calvario of Edna; four sisters, Janie Helen and Mary Sally Lugo of Edna and Rosie Escamia and Margaret Escamia of Edna; and five brothers, Felix of Ohio, Conception Jr. and Nicholas of San Antonio and John and Joe of Edna.

Concepcion Lugo Jr.

San Antonio—Concepcion Lugo Jr., 47, of San Antonio, died Thursday, Nov. 12, 1998.

He was born June 13, 1951, in Edna, to the late Concepcion Sr., and Beatrice Garza Lugo. He was a meter technician for Bexar Metro Water District and was a Catholic.

Survivors: wife, Alicia Charles Lugo; daughters, Betty S. Cordova and Charlotte Cordova, both of San Antonio; sons, Alejandro Cordova, Jr., and Concepcion Lugo III, both of San Antonio; sisters, Margaret Lopez, Rosie Baez and Janie Trevino, all of Edna and Sara Spicer of Ganado; brothers, Joe Lugo, John Lugo, Nick Lugo and Feliz Lugo, all of Edna.

A rosary will be recited at 7 p. m. Sunday at Slavik Funeral Home Chapel.

Services will be 10 a. m. Monday at Saint Agnes Catholic Church of Edna, the Rev. Jerry Caponi officiating.
