YOUNG GRANDSON OF WITTMANN COUPLE IS KILLED BY PET BEAR
According to a Flagstaff dispatch appearing in the Wednesday issue of the Arizona Republic, a pet bear owned by Mr. and Mrs. Andrew A. PALMER of Wittmann, clawed to death their 3 year-old grandson. ANDREW MARK PALMER, Jr. at Pine Springs Camp last Tuesday afternoon Mrs. Palmer, known to SUN readers as Mrs. Violet PALMER, has been this newspaper’s correspondent in the Wittmann area for many years. The Wittmann Palmers had taken the bear, which they raised from a cub, to the camp when they went there to spend the summer with their son and family.

Sunday for Roseburg, Oregon, where they were called upon receipt of news of the death of the
Palmer's son, Pete, in an automobile accident. Mr. & Mrs. GINTHER are the parents of Mrs. Pete PALMER. Details of the accident had not been learned when The SUN went to press. PETE PALMER was about 30 years of age. He had been in the logging business in Roseburg.

RICHARD H. PALMER born August 28, 1926 to Perle and Howard Palmer in Montebello, Calif., and passed away May 24 due to lung cancer.
Dick served as a corporal in the United States Army and was stationed in the Phillippine Islands toward the end of World War II. He met and married Joyce L. Woodward in 1948, and they had recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary last January 17.
In 1954 they became children of God when they received the Lord Jesus as their Savior and their lives took a completely new direction - their destination heaven.
Dick has arrived at his destination and Joyce looks forward to a wonderful reunion with him and all who have gone on before.
There were two children born to them, a son Stephen and a daughter Jan, who have preceded him to heaven. They have one granddaughter Rachel, two sisters-in-law Jerry Woodward and Charlene Woodward, nieces Tracy, Deana, and Janay, nephews Marc and Wayne, and a grandniece Tony and her children.
Dick worked as a machinist most of his life. His greatest pastime was flying private planes. He had built his own plane, which was something he truly loved.
Dick and Joyce belonged to the Wickenburg First Southern Baptist Church. During his illness he and Joyce spent the time, when Dick was able, reading the scriptures, thanking, praising and worshiping God for how He was with them throughout their marriage and now how his beautiful presence was with them as they passed through the valley of cancer. What a great God we have.
Services for Dick were held at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix on Friday, June 6.
Arrangements were under the direction of Wickenburg Funeral Home and Crematory.

FUNERAL HELD FOR MRS ANNA PARKER
Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Paul Cooper of the Assembly of God church last Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Coffinger Funeral Home, for MRS. ANNA D. PARKER, 83 years old, who died last Tuesday afternoon in Phoenix. Burial followed in the Wickenburg cemetery. Mrs Parker came to Arizona from Porter, Okla., ten months ago and has spent much time with her son, Ira A. Rice and family. Mr. Rice is in the employ of the Santa Fe railway, and has been stationed in Wickenburg for several years. Another son, E. A. Rice, resides in Phoenix. Rev. Cooper, along with touching and comforting words addressed to the bereaved family, read a favorite poem of Mrs Parker's. Mrs Parks sang several hymns, accompanied by Mrs William Helme at the organ.

Rites Saturday For TOM PARKS
Members of the Phoenix Elks Lodge, to which he had belonged for 25 years, conducted impressive funeral services last Saturday morning in the Wickenburg Chapel for
TOM PARKS of near Morristown. He passed away suddenly, of a heart attack, at 9:30 a.m. March 21 in Cottonwood, Arizona. He had gone there the night before with Mrs. Parks who was hospitalized in the Marcus Lawrence Memorial Hospital sometime ago and was returning for a check-up. He passed away while waiting for her in a nearby motel. Burial was in the Wickenburg Cemetery.
Mr. & Mrs. Parks had resided on their ranch a few miles west of Morristown since 1946 when they purchased that property. They had previously lived in Phoenix in the late 30's. At the time of his death he was an official photographer for the Phoenix Chamber of Commerce and a free lance photographer with a national reputation in that profession. Many of his award winning photographs are on display in the Museum of Northern Arizona in Flagstaff.
Mr. Parks was born April 23, 1912 in Chattanooga, Tenn., where he received his schooling. Several years ago he served a term on the Morristown School Board and he was an active member of the Kiwanis Club during the several years of its existence here.
Survivors are the widow, Eve; his mother, Mrs. Mary Parks of Baltimore; two sisters, Mrs. George HINNANT Jr., of White Marsh, Maryland, and Mrs. Mary COLLINS of Hampton, Virginia, and a brother, E. R. Parks of Baltimore.

FUNERAL HELD FOR GERTRUDE PARRIS
Passes Away in Wilshire Hospital, Hollywood, Following Brief Illness; Funeral Held Here Monday.
Funeral services were conducted at 6 o'clock Monday evening for, Martha Gertrude PARRISH, 23, who passed away early Friday morning in the Wilshire Hospital, Hollywood, Calif., following a brief illness.
When word reached here Thursday that Miss Parrish was critically ill, her mother and sister rushed to her bedside, but the girl never regained consciousness. Death was attributed to cerebral apoplexy, caused, the doctors stated, by high blood pressure.
Born at Thebes, Illinois, December 17, 1915, Miss PARRISH came to Wickenburg at the age of three years and lived here until entering Gregg's Business school in Phoenix, two years ago. After graduating she worked in Phoenix a year, then obtained a position in the legal department of the RKO studios in Hollywood, eight months ago. She made her home with her aunt, Mrs. Merle Bruce at Hollywood.
A multitude of grief-stricken friends of the girl assembled at the Wickenburg Chapel to attend the last rites, which were conducted by the Rev. J. C. MENEFEE, Mrs. Carl SHRIDE and Mrs.. W. C. PAIGE, accompanied at the organ by Mrs. William HELME, sang "The Beautiful Isle of Somewhere." The services were largely attended, attesting the esteem in which the young girl was held, and there were many magnilicent floral offerings.
Pallbearers were six of Miss Parrish’s classmates: Johnny FUGATT, Raleigh BARNETTE, Tinao CAMBRES, Charles SHONTZ, Sr., Anthony O'BRIEN and Tom KERKES.
In addition to her mother, Mrs. Bob C. STORNS and her father, H.0. PARRISH, she is survived by a sister, Mrs. Willard HOPKINS, all of Wickenburg. A half-sister, Loid Louise PEACE, resides at Decatur, Ill., two aunts, Mrs. Merle BRUCE and Miss Frances HOWELL, of Los Angeles, who were with her when she was stricken, and her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. L. B. GAMEWELL, of Teague, Texas, also survive.
Interment was made in the Wickenburg cemetery with H. L. COFFINGER in charge.

Rites for Parker Man Are Held Here
Funeral services were held in the Wickenburg chapel last Saturday morning for GLENN R. PARTRIDGE of Parker who died in Community Hospital December 12. Rev. James WILSON, Presbyterian minister, officiated and burial was in the Wickenburg Cemetery. Mr. Partridge was born march 10, 1894, in Lincoln Neb., and had been a power lineman for the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation in the Parker area for the past 10 years. Survivors ware the widow, Rose, Parker; and three brothers, Vern of Minden, Nebraska, Theodore of Woodriver, Nebraska, and Ned to Tucson.

Funeral services for ANNIE PASSEY, age 81, were held on Monday (Sept. 15) at 11 a.m. at Wickenburg Funeral Home with interment following at the Wickenburg Municipal Cemetery.
Annie was born June 22, 1927 in Wickenburg to Milan and Anica KERKES. She was raised in Wickenburg and attended schools locally, later graduating from Phoenix Union High School. She married James PASSEY in 1946 and they made their home in Salome, shortly thereafter moving to Prescott, and in 1955 they moved to Phoenix where they lived until 1988 when they retired and moved to northern Arizona, settling in Heber.
They eventually moved back to Phoenix and continued to spend the summers in northern Arizona.
She was preceded in death by her husband James on March 7, 2001. Annie is survived by daughters Pam YEATS and Patrice BLAICH both of Waddell, and Robin WILLIS (Craig) of Las Vegas; grandchildren Kelly YEATS of Phoenix; Andrew YEATS (Suzie) of Williamsburg, Va.; Jill QUINONEZ (David) of Waddell, Ariz.; Michael BLAICH (Janice) of Wisconsin; and Jimmy PASSEY of Phoenix; seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are under the direction of Wickenburg Funeral Home & Crematory.

Mr. Passey was born Sept. 25, 1925 in Richfield, Utah.

Mrs. Ben McCabe’s Mother Summoned
MRS. J. R. PATTERSON 91-year-old mother of Mrs. BEN McCABE, died in San Diego, Calif., Tuesday morning. Funeral services were held in that city Wednesday and then the body was taken to Duluth, Minnesota, for burial.
Mrs. McCabe, the only immediate survivor, was with her mother at the time of her death.

NELS PATTERSON Died Wednesday
Cremation is pending for Nels PATTERSON, 88-year-old Wickenburg resident, who died at Community Hospital Wednesday morning. Meanwhile, friends are invited to visit Wickenburg Mortuary from 10 a,m. until 12 noon today (Friday).
Mr. Patterson, a native of Sweden, lived in Montana until he came here 20 years ago. He was never married and has no known relatives.

PATIENCE K PATTERSON of Wickenburg died Dec. 28 in the Extended Care Unit of Wickenburg Regional Hospital. She was 80.
Mrs Patterson was born Feb. 20, 1916 in Rifle, Colorado. She had lived in Arizona for the past 24 years.
Mrs. Patterson worked for the Coxwell brothers as a bookkeeper for the Rancho Grande Motel and Gold Nugget Restaurant and various other entities for 10 years.
She was past president of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 12 of Wickenburg.
Survivors include her husband Clyde PATTERSON of Wickenburg; sons Erick JONES of New Mexico and Norman JONES of California; five brothers; four sister; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren
A memorial service was held Tuesday, Dec. 31 at 10:30 a.m. at the Wickenburg Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Ed. Wessling officiating.

BILL (ELDRED) PAYTON passed away May 9, 2005 at Sun West health Care Center in Sun City West, after a lengthy illness. He was born July 19, 1921 in Ima, N.M. to Jimmie and Will Payton, and was the youngest of five boys. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers. He leaves his wife Bets, son Tim and (Virginia), grandson Jarrett, and great-grandsons Gage, Tyler nad Wade. Bill attended grade and high school in Fort Sumner, N.M., and New Mexico State College in Las Cruces. Before completing college, he enlisted in the Navy in 1942 and served in the Pacific, mainly on Midway Island as a Petty Officer First Class Aviation Fire Controlman. He then went on to Whidby Island, Wash., and to the Naval Air Station at Jacksonville, Fla. He and Bets became pen pals when he was at Midway Island, and they met in Union Station in Chicago (where bets lived) when he was in transit from Whidby to Jacksonville. They were married in Jacksonville in 1945, where Tim was born. Following his discharge in 1948, the couple lived in Chicago, where Bill attended the American Television Institute of Technology, graduation in 1953. After moving to St. Charles and Geneva, Ill., Bill became a private contractor and was a member of the St. Charles American Legion and Moose Lodge No. 1368. He was also a member and president of the St. Charles Optimist Club in 1979. Bill hadn’t given up his wish to learn to fly, so he took lessons in a single-engine plane and earned his private pilot’s license and an instrument rating. He fell in love with Wickenburg when he flew here to visit Bets’ sister. He and Betz moved to Wickenburg in 1980, and Bill worked part-time. He was a volunteer drive for the Red Cross for 12 years, taking resident to doctors and hospital in the Phoenix area. He was also a member of the Central Arizona Chapter of the Red Cross Disaster Action Team.
Bill was a Third Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 9838 of St. Anthony’s in Wickenburg. He also transferred membership to the Wickenburg American Legion Post No. 12 and joined the Wickenburg Elks Lodge No. 2160 in 1980. He enjoyed playing golf almost daily at the Wickenburg Country Club until illness prevented him from playing. Mass will be celebrated today (Wednesday, May 18) at St. Anthony’s Church , with Frs. Brian Bell and John Vogt officiating. Bill never lost his love for Wickenburg and all the friends he made here, and he will be missed by all who knew and loved.

ROBERT FIELD PEARSON Jr., 78 of Tucson, died Sept. 11.
He grew up in Wickenburg and served his country in the U.S. Air Force and Air National Guard. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Retired Enlisted Association, and Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks.
He will be forever loved and never forgotten.
He is the father of E. Luann KNIGHT; grandchildren Kimberly R. KNIGHT and John D. KNIGHT; great-grandchild Cassidy A. KNIGHT. Also surviving him are his cousins John BURDEN and Sophie ECHEVERRIA of Wickenburg.
Funeral services were held at Abbey Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, Sept. 17, with VFW Post 10188 officiating. Interment was at Southern Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Sierra Vista, Ariz.

Rites Pending For FRED PECK
Funeral services are pending for Fred Peck, 52-year-old resident of Morristown, who died in
Community Hospital at 1:45 a.m. Thursday. He had been admitted to the hospital July 10.
Mr. Peck had operated the Richfield Service Station in Morristown with his son Russell for the past year. He had previously lived in California.
In addition to the son, he is survived by the widow, Estelle, and a daughter in Los Angeles.

MILDRED "MID" PEDERSON, age 91, died on Thursday, June 9, 2005, at the Johnson Memorial Home in Dawson. Funeral service was held Monday, June 13 at the Grace Lutheran Church in Dawson with Pastor Kendall Stelter officiating. Burial was in Grace Lutheran Cemetery.
Mildred "Mid" Pederson was born September 20, 1913, in Watertown, S.D., the daughter of August and Bessie (Swanson) Hestad. She was united in marriage to Donald E. Pederson on November 5, 1939. They lived in several communities in eastern South Dakota and western Minnesota before settling in Dawson, Minn. in 1947.
Mid was active in Grace Lutheran Church (GLCW) and as a summer Bible School teacher. She also was a Cub Scout Den Mother and a Girl Scout Troop Leader. Don and Mid retired in 1980, and relocated to Wickenburg, Ariz. In the spring of 1993, they returned to Dawson. During her younger years, Mid enjoyed traveling and camping with her family, and in her later years, Mid and Don traveled throughout the U.S. in their travel home. Mid died on Thursday, June 9, 2005, at the Johnson Memorial Home in Dawson at the age of 91 years, 8 months, and 19 days. Mid is survived by her children David (Peggy) Pederson of Dawson, Nancy (Al) Murphy of Boise, Idaho, and Douglas (Brenda) Pederson of Starbuck, Minn.; grandsons Curtis (Amy) Wilson, Jonathan (Sara) Wilson, Jeremy (Noni) Wilson, Scott (Christi) Pederson, Michael Pederson, and Dustin Londgren; and great-grandchildren Zachary, Jared, and Tyler Wilson; Jacob S. and Annika Pederson; and Jacob J. Pederson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 54 years, Don on November 3, 1993; brother George Hestad, Sr.; and sisters Laurel Tiedt, Lillian Eidelback, and Alice Anderson.

Kansas Rites For TIMOTHY PEEBLES
Funeral services and burial were conducted in Council Grove, Kansas, Tuesday for TIMOTHY WAYNE PEEBLES, 2 year-old son of Mr.& Mrs. Donald Peebles of Wickenburg. The young boy died at his home here Thursday of last week after a long illness.
The child’s father is a clerk at the Safeway Store. Surviving, in addition to the parents, is a sister, Kimberly, 9 months old.

ROBERT "BOB" JAMES PELOQUIN, of Attleboro, Massachusetts, and formerly of Congress, died Feb. 12 in Attleboro. He was 72.
Mr. Peloquin was born Sept. 18, 1923 in Providence, R.I. He lived in Congress for 15 years before returning to Attleboro several months ago. He was a graduate of the Community College
of Rhode Island, receiving an associate degree in nursing in 1974. He was employed for over 20
years as a registered nurse by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts at the Taunton State Hospital, retiring in 1978.
Mr. Peloquin served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He saw action aboard the Battleship U.S.S. Iowa in the Pacific and was the recipient of, the Purple
Heart during World War II. Mr. Peloquin was a lifelong enthusiast of restoring Model A Fords, and was a member of the Model A Restorer’s Club of Massachusetts and Phoenix. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and was Also a black belt in Judo. Mr. Peloquin was very active in community affairs when he lived in Congress.
He is survived by his wife, Monica M. (WALLACE) PELOQUIN; daughters Kathleen E. ZUEFLE of Sloansville, N.Y., Brenda M. KRAWCHUCK of S. Attleboro, Mass., Carol A. DAVIS of Swansea, Mass., Sandra A. HUNNICUTT-LUDLAM of Norton, Mass., and Robin A. KNIGHT of N. Attleboro; sons Robert A. of Norton, and John W. of N. Smithfield, R.I.; 16 grandchildren; and one great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry H. and Ruth· (LUNDBERG) PELOQUIN; his first wife; Mabel (TORRES) PELOQUIN; and brothers George A. Herbert and William.
Graveside services and burial have been held at the V.A. National Cemetery of Massachusetts at Otis Air Force Base.

CLARENCE PELSER of Congress passed away on Feb. 11. He was born Aug. 29, 1942 in Flagler, Colorado. He is survived by his mother Vera SMITH of Seibert, Colo.; daughters Mary PAINTIN and husband Sam of Peeples Valley; Karen RUSSEL of Burlington, Colo.; Joyce PELSER of Burlington, Colo.; brothers Vernon and Chuck PELSER of Seibert, Colo. and Donald PELSER of College Station, Texas; sisters Florence McGRIFF; Veva NOEL; and Donna CRISP all of Seibert, Colo.; and grandchildren Ezra and David PAINTIN and Sarah and Joshua BERTHELOT. Memorial services will be held on Saturday (March 11) from 10 a.m. to noon at Arrowhead Steak House in Congress. Arrangements by David's Desert Chapel Funeral Home in Wickenburg.

DAVID MARSHALL PENDER was born in California on August 25, 1954 to Jodi Pender. He died March 22.
He is survived by his best friend and loving wife of 13 years Debbie; son Seth Thomas Pender of Phoenix, Ariz.; grandson Sylas J.T.; daughter Emily Janette Pender of Phoenix; daughters Angela and Melissa Young and son Levi Young; son-in-law Shawn Gilleland, and Shawn and Melissa’s two children Chase and Haylee, who loved their Papa dearly.
David was currently living in Chino Valley; a member of The Heights Church near Prescott and co-pastor of Cow-Country Cathedral in Chino Valley. He has been involved with several cowboy churches throughout the West, and has helped establish many of those outreach ministries for years. He had a “shepherd’s heart” and the soul of an evangelist, a man of God who devoted his wisdom and life to his family and friends. He was working for the Yavapai County Roads Department.
Services were held at The Heights Church (2121 Larry Caldwell Dr. Prescott, Ariz.) Saturday March 29. Graveside Services followed at the Chino Valley Cemetery, (West Road 2 South in Chino Valley). A reception was held at the 5M Arena Ramada, (764 West Road 1 South, also in Chino Valley).

September 29 was a tragic day for Mr. & Mrs. Ed STANAWAY and members of their family.
As previously reported in The SUN, their daughter, Michelle, 4½, and Mrs. Stanaway's sister, Mrs. Opal HOUSTON, 29, of London, England, were instantly killed in an automobile wreck near Caliente, Nevada, on September 24. Two days later, Mrs. Stanaway's father, JESS PENDLETON, 68, died at his home in Leavenworth, Washington.
One funeral service was held for all three and all three, representing three generations, were laid to rest beside each other in a beautiful cemetery at Cashmere, Washington.
The English Army Air Corps flew M/Sgt. Dale HOUSTON and his seven children from London
to Washington when he received word of his wife's death. The children range in age from 7 months to 13 years. Their mother had come to America just a few days before to see her
father who was then seriously ill.
It was when the dying father asked to see the Stanaway children that Mrs. HOUSTON and her brother, Frank PENDLETON, drove to Wickenburg to get them. It was on the trip back to
Washington that the accident happened. Mr. PENDLETON, the brother, was injured.
The seven little English chi1dren, says Mr. STANAWAY, will remain in America while their father returns to his Army career in London.

WILLIAM F. PENNY Passed Away At Home In Yarnell
WILLIAM F. PENNY, who was the first commander of the American Legion Post in Wickenburg, passed away at his home in Yarnell early Sunday morning following an illness which extended over the past five years. Mr. Penny was a resident of Wickenburg from 1927 until 1932 when he was connected with the Brayton Commercial Co. He left here in the latter year for phoenix where for five years he and Mrs. Penny, the former Mary RICHARDS, daughter of Mrs. Ollie RICHARDS, operated the Jefferson Hotel.
Mr. Penny was born in Emporia, Kansas, November 3, 1887, and came to Arizona in 1914.
He was a veteran of World War I in which he served in the Signal Corps.
While a resident of Arizona, he lived in Prescott and Jerome and was connected at various
times with the U. S. Bureau of Reclamation and the Arizona Highway Department. He was
a member of the Masonic Order and the Shrine.
Funeral services were held at the First Presbyterian Church in Wickenburg at 11 a.m.
Wednesday of this week with burial following in the Wickenburg Cemetery. The American
Legion conducted graveside rites.
Surviving Mr. Penny are his wife and a granddaughter, Mrs. James W. WOOD of Monterey
Park, Calif. Also two grandsons, Michael and Stephen WOOD.

DR. C. F. PERKINS DIES IN PHOENIX
Dr. Charles F. Perkins, widely-known Arizona physician and surgeon and author of several works on anatomy and medicine, died early yesterday in a Phoenix hospital after a brief illness. He was 75 years old and had resided in Arizona 14 years.
A native of Illinois, Dr. Perkins was associated two years with the Wickenburg Hospital before retiring two years ago because of ill health. Previously he practiced medicine for eight years in Miami and was prominent in fraternal affairs there.
He was graduated from Rush Medical college in Chicago and later was an instructor there. He went to Phoenix after the death of his wife, Edith, two years ago. His only survivor is a brother, George, in Iowa.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock this afternoon in the Community Presbyterian church, with the Rev. A. G. STEWART, officiating. Interment will be beside his wife in the Wickenburg cemetery. Coffinger's Mortuary will be in charge.

Beautiful Services Mark Last Rites for Beloved Woman at Presbyterian Church
Simple but impressive services marked the last rites for MRS. CHARLES F. PERKINS at the Community Presbyterian church Wednesday afternoon. The esteem in which she was held was evidenced by the many magnificent floral offerings and the large number of friends who were present. Mrs. Perkins passed away early Sunday morning following an attack of heart ailment. She had some time previously written out her obituary and directions for the final services, which were carried out according to her wishes.
A quartet composed of Mrs. E. B. KELLEY, Mrs. Carl SHRIDE, W. W. SLATER and Oliver CORBIN, sang two hymns selected by Mrs. PERKINS, "Oh Love That Will Not Let Me Go." And "Saviour, Like a Shepherd Lead Us." Rev. Reese SCULL gave scripture readings and the obituary prepared by the deceased giving evidence of deep personal feeling. Mrs. PERKINS was a loyal and valued member of the congregation over which he presides.
Following the services interment took place in the Wickenburg cemetery.
Bert FOX, Russell JOHNSON, Roy RICHARDS, George WENTWORTH, Dave JONES and W. L. RICHARDS acted as pall bearers, with J. R. BARNETTE as alternate. Mrs. W. J. HELME played many of the old hymns previous to the service and accompanied the quartet. Floyd WACHTER acted as usher.
A large number of out of town friends and relatives attended the services, including Dr. and Mrs. Frank B. YOUNG of Long Beach, Calif., Mr. and Mrs. Guy STAFFORD of Los Angeles, Mr. DAVID of Phoenix and sister, Mrs. Philip HARTMAN of Mesa and Dr. and Mrs. Nelson D. BRAYTON and daughter of Miami.
EDITH CLARKE PERKINS was born in Macomb, Illinois, July 19, 1870. She was the last of a family of 10. She united with the Christian church at the age of 13. She was married to Dr. Charles F. PERKINS June 5, 1895 in Chicago, Ill. They moved to Miami in 1923 and from there to Wickenburg in 1933. She united with the Community Christian church in March 1934.
The funeral arrangements were in charge of Howard Coffinger.

Saturday Rites In Prescott For ELI S. PERKINS
ELI S. PERKINS, a pioneer of Wickenburg’s early history, died last Saturday in the Arizona Pioneers Home in Prescott which he had entered just a month ago. His home was in Phoenix.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 o’clock tomorrow (Saturday) morning in the Ruffner Funeral Home in Prescott with the Methodist minister of that city officiating. Burial will follow in the Pioneers Cemetery there.
Mr. Perkins, the step-father of W. E. (Bill) Craig of Wickenburg was a native of Meadowcreek, KY., and came to Arizona in 1897. After teaching in the St. Johns School he was elected to the 21t territorial Legislature in 1900. This was the first legislature to occupy the new capitol building in Phoenix. Mrs. Perkins was also a delegate to the constitutional convention when Arizona became a state.
In 1904 Mr. Perkins purchased the Arizona Gazette, forerunner of the Phoenix gazette. He sold that newspaper a year later and bought the Wickenburg News-Herald from Dick Wick Hall. He moved the newspaper to Congress and changed it name to the Martinez Miner. Later Mr. Perkins was city editor of the Prescott Journal-Miner.
He entered the Internal Revenue Service in 1922 and remained in that work until her retired in 1945 at the age of 70.
Mr. Perkins and his wife, Sarah observed their 60th wedding anniversary last year.
Survivors are the widow who resides in Prescott; three sons, Brodie of Mexico City, John of Phoenix and Fred of Prescott; and two step-sons, W. E. CRAIG of Wickenburg and Sidney CRAIG of Los Altos, Calif.

ARTHUR PERRETT Funeral Tuesday
Funeral services will be held in Monterey Park. Calif., Tuesday for ARTHUR PERRETT, 69, who died here suddenly early Wednesday morning in the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. Richard GARCIA, with whom he lived.
Mr. Perrett was born in Los Angeles September 18, 1892, and resided there until he moved to Wickenburg two years a ago. He was a retired employee of the Union Packing Co. of Los Angeles.
Only immediate survivors are Mrs. Garcia and seven a grandchildren of Wickenburg.

Funeral services were held at A. L. Moore & Sons, Phoenix, last week for HARRY JAMES PETERS who was killed in a glider trainer accident near Echeverria Field. The Rev. Hayden officiated, and students from Echeverria Field were pall bearers. Interment was made in the Double Butte Cemetery. Mr. Peters was born in Mesa, Arizona, September 10, 1918, and for a number of years was engaged in the produce trucking business. He came to Echeverria Field from Sky Harbor, Phoenix, last January, and with his wife resided in the new trailer homes, north of town. He was united in marriage to Miss June Wood, January 20, 1942 in Phoenix. In addition to his wife he survived by his grandparents Mr. and Mrs. J. Eckart of Los Angeles.

He is also survived by brothers Andy of Riverton, Wyoming, and Bryce of Texarkana, Arkansas. Before moving to Wickenburg in 1952, he lived in Nebraska and Wyoming. His first job in town was with Brayton Commercial. He worked at the Wickenburg Lumber Company owned by Perry and Ethel Underdown. He later went to work as a painter for his brother-in-law Wayne Ryan of Ryan’s Painting. After his painting career, he ventured into real estate and worked for American Realty and Thompson Realty. In 1967, he established the Peterson Agency Real Estate from which he retired. Peterson Agency is still in business serving Wickenburg.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hospice of the Valley.

BILLY JOE PETTLE of Wickenburg, died Feb. 2 in Wickenburg. He was 70.
Mr. Pettle was born Aug. 19, 1926 in Bessie, Oklahoma. He had lived in Wickenburg for the past 40 years.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Pettle of Wickenburg; daughter, Cecile Ann Pettle, of Phoenix; and brothers Lloyd Pettle of Oklahoma City, Cecil Pettle of Clinton, Oklahoma, Robert Pettle of Mesa and Orville Pettle of Phoenix.
Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6 at Whitney and Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Road in Phoenix. Pastor Robert M. Johnston III will officiate.

ELISHA ANDREW “ANDY” PHILLIPS passed away Tuesday, July 8 at the Verde Valley Medical Center in Cottonwood, Ariz. Elisha was born in Grafton, W.V., on Oct. 23, 1929.
He joined the U.S. Air Force at the age of 17. He was promoted through the ranks and went through both officers and cadet training to become a pilot. He started in the B-25 and went on to fly the B-47 and the B-52 Stratosphere and Spooky gunships. He flew during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Andy served his country for 23 years before his retirement in 1970.
Beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather who gave generously without ever asking for anything in return, he was always present for any event, small or large, no matter how far away. Loving, supportive, generous, thoughtful, devoted, compassionate, and committed to all whom he touched. His presence is truly missed, and his love enduring. God called home his angel, and we are all truly blessed for having known him.
Andy is survived by Alondra (Phillips) and Robert Roehler, Michelle and David Wagner, Andrew and Casey Roehler, Andrea (Phillips) and Andrew Wrubel, Laureen Phillips, Ryan Wrubel and Syreena Sanchez.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday (July 16) at Bueler Funeral Home located at 143 Arnold Street in Camp Verde, Ariz. Interment will be held at the Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Va., at a later date.

FLOYD EVERETT PHILLIPS of Wickenburg died May 30 in Wickenburg. He was was73. Mr. Phillips was born March 7,1923 in Daniel, Wyo. He had lived in Arizona for the past 11 Years, coming
from Nevada. Mr. Phillips was a 20-year veteran of the U.S. Navy, entering the service in November 1941 and being discharged in January 1962. He was a member of the U.S. Navy Fleet Reserve, serving on the cruiser USS Concord during the Aleutian Islands campaign in World War II. He also served in the Korean and Vietnam Wars. During his service he was awarded Korean Service Medal with one star, National Defense Service Medal, and United Nations Service Medal.
Mr. Phillips was active with the Concord reunions of his Shipmates, attending them every year. He was a past member of the Mile High Kiwanis of Prescott. His favorite hobby was fishing.
Mr. Phillips is survived by his Wife, Hildred (GOODWINE) PHILLIPS of Wickenburg, and a noted painter of horses; stepdaughters Susan Killman of Wickenburg and Robin Palmer of North Platte, Nebraska; stepsons Russell DUNHAM of Gila Bend and Jim DUNHAM of Prescott Valley; sisters Norma BRIGHT of Wickenburg, Frances HANSEN of Coupeville, Washington; and Virginia CHASTAIN of Boise, Idaho, and brother Warren Phillips of Randolph, Utah.
Services were Tuesday, June 4 at the VA National Memorial Cemetery in Phoenix, Members of the Disabled American Veterans officiated. Contributions in Mr. Phillips' name may be made to: In Home Health, 2819 W. Wickenburg Way, Wickenburg, Az. 85390.

HELENA PHILLIPS died April 23, in Texarkana, Texas. She was 92 years old. Mrs. Phillips was born in India November 1, 1914. Her parents were Rev. Frederick J. and Helena King Phillips. She was a 20 year resident of Wickenburg, coming here from California in 1983.
There are no survivors. Her husband Charles and son James preceded her in death.

Mr. Phillips-Conner was born March 21, 1990 in Phoenix.
He was a student.

BRENDA “MISTY” KAY PIEPER departed our world to be with God on May 31. She was born in Lafayette, Ind., on November 13, 1945. Misty enjoyed life to the fullest. She loved to laugh and joke around. Even though she was in a wheelchair for many years, she didn’t let that keep her down. She still donated time, money, and needed items to many charities. She was so proud each time she could help. She received many awards for volunteering from the Multiple Sclerosis Society and other organizations. Misty was a very giving and generous person. She loved bingo and video poker, taking cruises, fishing and doing her arts and crafts. She was preceded in death by her husband DONALD PIEPER May 10, 2006. She is survived by her sister Fran Jaggers (Dave); her sons Dale Clinton (Sheila) and William Clinton (Barb) all of Frankfort, Ind., and her daughter Teonna Zeller (John) of Wickenburg. She had six grandchildren and many aunts and cousins and friends. Misty’s request is that any contributions be made in her memory to St. Vincent de Paul Society. Misty was a dear friend and wonderful person and will be truly missed. The funeral will be Thursday (June7) at St. Anthony of Padua Church at 10 a.m. with burial at the Wickenburg Cemetery. David’s Desert Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.

STANLEY C. PLAGENS was born in Richmond, Mich., on Dec. 7, 1930 and passed away May 24 in Morristown, Ariz., after a lengthy illness.
Stan is survived by his wife of 24 years Dorothy, and eight children - Cindy and Larry HEINTZ, Ardie and Andrea PLAGENS, Wayne and Louise PLAGENS, Kathy and John SVECHOVSKY, Mike and Suzanne DePEW, Pat and Janice DePEW, Rob and Robin CHRISTIE and Bruce CHRISTIE. Stan was also blessed with 18 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Survivors in Michigan include sisters Aleta, Grace, NaDean and Inez and brother Marvin along with sister-in-law Frances PLAGENS. Stan was preceded in death by brother Elroy.
Stan had many interests and accomplishments in his life. Among them, an interest in farm education and a trucking company with brothers Elroy and Marvin in Michigan. Stan loved to be around machinery of all sorts and was a heavy equipment operator until retirement, and he enjoyed square dancing and country music. After retirement, Stan continued to enjoy square dancing and an unmatched love of gardening. Stan enjoyed gardening to the point that he brought his good soil with him to Morristown from his longtime home in Glendale. Stan also enjoyed taking Dorothy and his RV to rallies around the country where they made many good friends and saw some breathtaking scenery.
Stan had a wonderful life and was taken from us much too soon. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. In keeping with Stan’s wishes, a small family service has been held and he is interred at Morristown Cemetery.

FORMER RESIDENT PASSES AWAY
C. W. PLATT, pioneer Arizona mining man died in Atolia, California, recently, according to word received by friends here. Mrs. Platt was widely known throughout the state, having resided at Tombstone, Prescott and Wickenburg for many years. Her was superintendent of the old Monarch mine some thirty years ago, and served as under-sheriff at Prescott in the early days.
He is survived by one son, James PLATT of Atolia. Burial was in a San Bernardino, Calif., cemetery.

Ben Pollman’s Father Summoned November 8
The many friends he made here on several visits with his son and family will be saddened to learn of the death of BERNARD J. POLLMAN, II, father of Ben POLLMAN of Wickenburg, which occurred Monday night of this week at his home in Meridian, Miss. The son from here reached Meridan by plane Monday morning by plane Monday morning and was at his father’s bedside.
The senior Mr. Pollman had been in ill health for some time past, undergoing a major surgical operation a few months ago. He had been in the bakery business in Meridan most of his life. He was past president of the Meridan Rotary Club.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a. m. Wednesday of this week in Meridan. Another son, John of Meridan, also survives.

Rites In Prescott For Samuel POTEET
SAMUEL G. POTEET, 84, died in his home in Yarnell Friday of last week. Funeral services and burial were in Prescott Tuesday.
A native of Oklahoma, Mr. Poteet came to Arizona in 1907 and lived in Yarnell since 1947. He had been a ranch hand and carpenter.
Surviving are the widow, Rhonda; three sons, George of Wickenburg, James of Phoenix and Tom of Sunnymead, Calif.; two daughters, Mrs. Jesse Livesay of Los Lunas, N.M. and Mrs. Laura Caward of Prescott; 24 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

MARY FRANCES POTTER passed away May 8 in Wickenburg. She was born Nov. 18, 1928 in Los Angeles, Calif. She is preceded in death by her husband Albert Bailey Potter III.

Mrs. ALTON POWELL Funeral Thursday
Funeral services for Mrs. ALTON POWELL of Aguila were scheduled to be held at 2 p.m. Thursday of this week in the Wickenburg Chapel with Rev. Dean McMANN minister, officiating. Burial was to be in the Aguila Cemetery. Mrs. Powell, member of a family prominent in the state for many years, died in Portland, Oregon, Friday of last week following heart surgery. She had been in ill health for the past six years. Born August 21, 1904, in the state of Sonora, Mexico, she was said to be the first Caucasian child born in that state. She came to Arizona when she was 3 years old and, except for brief periods in California and Oregon where she taught school, had lived in this state all her life. She also taught school in Aguila, where she had lived since 1924, and in Paradise Valley. Surviving are the husband, Alton POWELL; one son Leon POWELL; and two grandchildren, all of Aguila; and the mother Mrs. Maggie ATKINS of Phoenix. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge and of the Aguila Women’s Club.

Final rites will be held Saturday for VENIE ALLEN POWELL, pioneer rancher of the Aguila area, who passed away Tuesday afternoon at the McDowell Clinic in Phoenix, following a short illness. The body will lie in state at the Wickenburg Chapel from 9 until 10:15 a.m. Saturday after which it will be taken to Aguila where graveside services and burial will take place at the Aguila cemetery.
Mr. Powell, who was 82 years of age, was born in Wagon Wheel, Kan., and came to Arizona when only three years old. He moved to Aguila in 1911 and had operated cattle ranches in that vicinity since. Mrs. Powell passed away a few months ago.
Surviving are a daughter; Julia POWELL and son, Alton R., both of Aguila and three sisters, Emma BOYER, Etta FISHER and Della FRYER, all of Phoenix. A grandson, Leon A. POWELL, of Aguila, also survives.

ROBERT WILLIAM POWERS was born Nov. 20, 1941 and passed away April 20, 2007. He was the son of William Powers and Dona Maloney, born in Brandon, Vermont. Bob died in his Wickenburg home with wife Nancy by his side. Bob is survived by his children James, Kristy, Robert and Stacy Powers; along with grandchildren Kristopher, Shaun, Carly, Natasha, Ashley and Dylan; two sisters in Bridgeport, Conn., Mary and Linda.
Bob married the “love of his life” NANCY PARKER of Athol, Mass. He was stationed in Germany where he served in the U.S. Armed Forces. He was a machinist at the Union Twist Drill in Athol, Mass., where he was an avid softball player for the Twist Drill. He loved to raise and tend to the animals on his farm. Bob was a volunteer firefighter in Massachusetts and Arizona. He was a man who loved to crack a joke. He was a very generous man and loved by many. He moved his family to Arizona in 1981. There he drove truck across country for J.B. Hunt for 20 years. He became a trainer for upcoming truck drivers. In 1995 Bob moved back to New England to be close to his children and grandchildren. He worked and retired at Mrs. Murphy's Donut Shop, then back to Arizona with wife Nancy. Bob loved the Red Sox and the Patriots, and never missed watching wrestling. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. Most of all, Bob loved being with his family. A big man with an even bigger heart. He will be missed forever. Mrs. Floyd GYGER’s Brother Summoned
L. H. PRALL, 67, brother of Mrs. Floyd GYGER, died April 26 in the Veterans Hospital at Temple, Texas. He was a resident of Lufkin, Texas. Funeral services were held Monday in Glendale with burial in Resthaven Park there.
Surviving are the wife, the Wickenburg sister, and three brothers from out-of-state.

MRS. ANNIE PRATT IS SUMMONED HERE
Mrs. ANNIE E. PRATT passed away, at 7: 40 p.m. Tuesday at the home of, her daughter, Mrs. Ira RICE here, where she been critically ill for some time. She was born October 6, 1867, near Mattoon, Illinois, and was married June 19, 1887, to R. B. PRATT at Winfield, Kansas.
In 1893 Mr. and Mrs. Pratt with their two young daughters, participated in the settlement of the famous Cherokee Strip in Oklahoma, traveling by covered wagon from their home in Kansas. They lived in Indian Territory, as it was known in those days, until 1898 when the family moved to Missouri. In 1915 they returned to Oklahoma where Mr. Pratt passed away. Following her husband's death, Mrs. Pratt came to Arizona in 1940, and for several years passed had made her home with her daughter here.
Mrs. Pratt took an active interest in the life of Wickenburg and had many friends here.
Of the three surviving children, the older daughter, Mrs. Blanche MASSARAND of St, Louis, came here a week ago when her mother's condition became grave. The son, Earl PRATT of Muskogee, Okla., was unable to come but a step daughter, Mrs. Dan HUBBS and her daughter, Mrs. Lou COHEN of St. Louis, have been in Wickenburg several days. Also here have been Mr. and Mrs. D.L. RICE and family of San Bernardino, Calif.
Eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services were held at 2 o’clock Thursday afternoon at the Wickenburg Chapel. Burial will follow in the Wickenburg cemetery.

EMERSON W. PRATT of Wickenburg, died March 10 in Wickenburg. He was 99.
Mr. Pratt was born Nov. 26, 1901 in Mexico. He had lived in Arizona for 71 years.
Survivors include four daughters, Marjorie Peterson of Tucson, Bobbi Tanner and husband of Gilbert, Glenna Woodward and husband Bud of Phoenix and Maurine Colgrove and husband Max of Wickenburg; a son, Wayne Pratt and wife Myrna of Albuquerque, N.M. ; 27 grandchildren; 94 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Services have been held.

JOYCE PRICE, age 73, passed away peacefully March 28 in Prescott. She was born August 7, 1934 in Clairmont, Texas, to Oscar Peek and Lelar Tatum Peek.
Joyce moved to Blythe, Calif., in 1940 and was raised primarily there and attended schools there. She married John Price January 16, 1952 in Quartzite, Ariz., and they made their home in Blythe, Calif.
Joyce had worked as assistant manager at J.C. Penny’s for years before retiring and moving to Yarnell in 1984. She was active the American Legion Auxiliary and enjoyed bowling.
Joyce was preceded in death by son Michael Lynn Price in 2001.
She is survived by her husband John Price of Yarnell and son John Mark Price of Peeples Valley; brother Marvin Peek of Tennessee; sisters Maurine Miller of Jayton, Texas; and Anne Ramsey of Canada; grandchildren Joshua John Price of Hemet, Calif.; and Shannon Price Talwar of New Delhi, India; great-grandchildren John Henry Price, Hailey Nicole Price and Jordan Om Talwar.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.

DOROTHY M. PRICHARD, age 72, passed away Dec. 18 in Phoenix, Ariz. Dorothy was born in Franklin, Pennsylvania, to Frank MILLER and Marie BOUGHNER MILLER. She was raised in Franklin and attended schools there. She married Bill Prichard Feb. 9, 1952 in Cooperstown, Penn., and they made their home in Utica. She worked as a certified nursing assistant for years. They moved to Arizona in 1970 settling in Wickenburg. She returned to school, receiving her credentials as a surgical technician in 1979. She worked at the Wickenburg Community Hospital for more than 30 years. Dorothy volunteered at several charity events in the community over the years. She was preceded in death by husband Bill on Aug. 10, 2008. She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law Patricia and Jerry BROWN of Scottsdale, Cindy and Jesse MALDONADO of Phoenix, and Brenda and Thom MOORE of Glendale; a brother Ron MILLER of Congress; grandchildren Stacy BURROWS, Jake, Joel, and Jeremy HEATHMAN, and Tyler MOORE all of Phoenix; great-grandchildren Taylor BURROWS, Nicolas, Rayce, Cali, Kaydance HEATHMAN and Devin DEVERAUX. The family suggests any memorial contributions in Dorothy's memory be made to Hospice of the Valley Sherman House at 5801 E. Mayo Blvd. Phoenix, AZ 85054.

In loving memory of WILLIAM HUNTER PRICHARD, born Sept. 25, 1927 in Titusville, Pennsylvania, and passed on to Heaven Aug. 10 at the age of 81.
William, his wife and family moved to Wickenburg in 1970. He worked and retired from Jones Ford/Mercury.
His love of his life was his family, friends, hunting, jeeping and the outdoors.
He is survived by his wife Dorothy Marie PRICHARD of 56 years, his three daughters and their families - Pat and Jerry BROWN, Cindy and Jessie MALDONADO, Brenda and Thom MOORE, five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his brother Francis PRICHARD of Franklin, Pa., and his brother-in-law Ronald E. MILLER of Congress, Ariz.
He will be cremated and the burial will be in Lupher Chapel Cemetery in Franklin, Pa.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hospice of Arizona in his name.
God now holds him in the palm of his hand.

CHRISTOPHER J. PROWANT, born September 2, 1981; died May 20, 2005. Christopher attended schools in Arizona, Missouri and Nebraska. He participated in football during high school years in Salome. He was a member of Piedmont Park Community Seventh-day Adventist Church in Lincoln, Neb. He enjoyed playing chess, golf, PS2 games, and working outdoors. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors are father Derral Wayne Jr.; mother Deborah (Dye) Andersen; Step-father Dana Andersen; brothers Derral W. CARRIE D. PRUETT of Circle City, died March 21 in Wittmann. She was 32.
Mrs. Pruett was born Feb. 10, 1969 in Phoenix. She was a lifelong resident of Arizona.
Survivors include two daughters, Brianna Teller and Joeline Teller, both of Arizona; two sons, Patrick James and Nathan Jesse, both of Arizona; two sisters, Paula Hughes and Norma Pruett, both of Arizona; three brothers, Johnny Ray Pruett of California and Michael Pruett and James Pruett, both of Arizona; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services are today, Wednesday, March 28, at 1 p.m. at the Wittmann Cemetery. Pastor Don Darnell will officiate.

FUNERAL SERVICES WERE HELD SUNDAY AFTERNOON FOR PAT PURDY 31, WHOSE DEATH OCCURRED MARCH 20
Funeral services were held here last Sunday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock for PAT PURDY, age 31, son of Mr & Mrs Alvin Purdy of Wickenburg, whose death occurred March 20 in Phoenix where he had been residing for some time. The young man had spent most of his life here. He entered the service during World War II from this community and served in the Armed Forces for more than five years. Rev Billie Pate of the First Baptist Church officiated at funeral services at Wickenburg Chapel and the local post of the American Legion conducted graveside ceremonies at the cemetery. Pallbearers were Robert Hartman, B. A. Wilmoth, J. F. Dery, E.G. Savage, William White and William Swinney.

Funeral Monday For ROY PURSER
Funeral services were held at 1:30 o'clock last Monday afternoon for ROY N. PURSER, a
resident of Wickenburg since 1946, who passed away at Community Hospital here early in the morning of April 19. Mr Purser had been in ill health a long while but entered the hospital only the day before his death.
He was born August 15, 1896, in Lansing, Mich., and was engaged as a salesman and
commercial photographer there until moving to Phoenix in 1939 where he was in the poultry
business. He followed the same occupation after moving to Wickenburg 11 years ago. The Purser home is two and one-half miles east of town on the Phoenix highway.
Monday afternoon's funeral services were conducted by Rev. Bill BARKER, with burial following in the Wickenburg Cemetery.
Surviving are the widow, Vivian and five children: Fred N. PURSER of Wickenburg; Mrs. John E. SMITH, Phoenix; Mrs. George C. BARLETT, Jr., Dallas, Texas; Mrs. Walter DUMONT, Garden Grove, Calif., and Ernest R. PURSER, Washington, D.C., a brother, Bruce L. PURSER of Lansing, Michigan, and 14 grandchildren also survive.

LES PYEATT Rites Held In Glendale
Funeral services for LESTER (LES) LEE PYEATT, 56-year-oJd Wickenburg resident famed for his rodeo skills, were held Wednesday afternoon in Glendale with burial following in that town.
Well known here where he was a wrangler at Monte Vista Ranch most of the time between 1948 and 1950 and a leading contender in local rodeos, Mr. PYEATT suffered a heart attack in
December and had been ill health since. About two months ago he and Mrs. PYEATT went to South Dakota, New Mexico and Texas to visit relatives. It was while in Channelview, Texas, with his son, Lester, that he suffered a fatal attack on Friday of last week.
After doubling between Monte Vista Ranch here and Ed STOPHER's ranch in Estes Park, Colorado, Mr. PYEATT bought a cattle ranch near Aguila in the fall of 1953. He sold the ranch about a year later and purchased a home in Sunny Cove where he had lived since.
He was born in Payson July 30, 1900.
Survivors include his wife, Irene, Wickenburg; a son, Lester L., Channelview; a daughter, Mrs. Barbara BROWNELL, Custer, S. D.; three brothers, Andrew of Phoenix, Lloyd of Brawley, Calif., and Edward of Cottage Grove, Oregon; three sisters, Mrs. Nellie CLINE of Phoenix, Dollie LAZEAR of Florence, and Mrs. Ollie ANDERSON of Brawley; his mother, Mrs. Mary Ella PYEATT of Phoenix; and four grandchildren.
