Walter P. Haase, 93, died Sept. 30, 1979, en route to St. Luke's Hospital. Mr. Haase moved here 37 years ago from Chicago. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 5 and Plumbers Local 469 until retiring in 1955. Surviving are his daughters, Ada K. Heiden and Marlys E. Fidler; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. HACK, Nathan

Graveside services for Nathan Hack, 82, a retired wholesale distributor who lived in Phoenix 50 years and died Oct. 18, 1979, in Kivel Nursing Home, were in Beth Israel Cemetery, 3401 W. Jackson. Mr. Hack was a World War I veteran, a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 720, Luke Greenway American Legion Post and Elks Lodge 335. Sinai Mortuary handled arrangements. HAFLING, Owen K. "Russell"

Mesa -- Owen K. Hafling, 63, an accountant and real estate broker, died Oct. 10, 1979, in Mesa Lutheran Hospital. He was a member of the Elks. Surviving are his wife, Mable; children, Lois E. Sherman and William R.; mother, May H. Green; seven grandchildren; a brother and four sisters. Services were in Durango, CO. Oct. 13, 1979.

HALE, Henry Fletcher

Services for Henry Fletcher Hale, 90, who came here 53 years ago and was a City of Phoenix bus driver 26 years until 1953, will be Friday in Sunset Chapel, 310 W. Camelback. Mr. Hale, 4720 N. 23rd Ave., died Oct. 2, 1979, in Phoenix Baptist Hospital. He was a member of Grace Evangelical Methodist Church and Woodmen of the World. Surviving are his children, Carmen Powers, James W. and Edwin M.; a brother; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Interment Memory Lawn. HALL, Vaughn Wayne

Mesa -- Vaughn Wayne Hall, 21, a Mesa High School graduate in 1976 who recently returned from a church mission, died Oct. 23, 1979, after a short illness while visiting in Salt Lake City. He was an Elder in the mesa 41st Ward and worked for Golden West Construction. Hamilton, 65, a foreman for Arnolds Pickle & Olive Co. where she worked 20 years, died Oct. 6, 1979, in her home at 9042 N. 37th Ave. Mrs. Hamilton moved to Arizona 32 years ago and was a member of Mayer Community Church. She is survived by her children, Dee Johnson and David; three grandchildren; two sisters and two brothers. Services were in her native Muncie, Indiana. Oct. 10, 1979.

HAMILTON, Edward K.

Edward K. Hamilton, 62, who had been a printer for the AZ Republic/The Phoenix Gazette from 1953 to 1971, died Oct. 1, 1979. He served in the Navy in World War II and was a member of the International Typographical Union. He moved here 27 years ago from Logan, UT. Survivors include his wife, Alice; sons, Frank, Bruce and Eric; and two sisters. Services were in Paradise Chapel, 3934 E. Indian School. Oct. 3, 1979.

Scottsdale -- Fordyce James Hamilton,81, died Oct. 22, 1979. Mr. Hamilton moved here in 1963 and retired as credit supervisor after 43 years with Michigan Consolidated Gas Co. in Detroit. HAMILTON, Virginia A.

Virginia A. Hamilton, 24, who had been a Navy recruiter four years and served with the Navy three years in Japan, died of cancer Oct. 20, 1979, in San Diego Naval Hospital. Mrs. Hamilton, of Anaheim, California, was born in Phoenix, attended West High School here and Arizona State University. Survivors include her husband, Ralph S.; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bill C. HAMMER, Catherine R.

Services for Catherine R. Hammer, 83, who died Oct. 13, 1979, in Hillhaven Nursing Home, were in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 4225 N. 56th St. Mrs. Hammer moved here 20 years ago from Omaha, Nebraska. She attended the University of Iowa, was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution and the LDS 18th Ward Relief Society. Surviving are her husband, Herbert H.; children, Catherine, Herbert, Jr., and Frederick; a brother; a granddaughter and five great-grandchildren. The AZ Republic Oct. 16, 1979.

HANCOCK, Joseph C.

St. Johns -- Services for Joseph C. Hancock, 71, who died Oct. 17, 1979, in his home here, were at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Mr. Hancock, a Taylor native, moved to St. Johns as a child. He was a retired businessman here. Survivors include his wife, Louise (Brown) Hancock; a son, Carl; three daughters, Barbara Heap, Marilyn Wheatley and Patricia Hannah; two brothers; three sisters; 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. HANENBURG, Jacob T.

Jacob T. Hanenburg, 84, who had been a furniture finisher for Dorris Heyman Furniture, died Oct. 12, 1979. He was born in the Netherlands and came to Arizona 22 years ago from Illinois. He is survived by a sister and two brothers. Graveside services were in Green Acres Memorial Gardens, 401 N. Hayden, Scottsdale. Oct. 14, 1979.

HANITA, Charlotte Darlene

Charlotte Darlene Hanita, 47, died Oct. 4, 1979, in Phoenix Indian Hospital. Mrs. Hanita was born in Peach Springs and is survived by her husband, Boyd; children, Betsy, Charlene, Delphine, Diana, Sharon, Dell, Patsy, Roland and Hubert; six grandchildren; two sisters and three brothers. Services were in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Peach Springs. Oct. 11, 1979.

HANNAH, Thomas E.

Services for Thomas E. Hannah, 74, who retired in 1970 as an electrician after 10 years with Maricopa County Hospital, were in Memory Lawn Mortuary, 719 N. 27th Ave. Mr. Hannah died Oct. 17, 1979, in his home. He came here in 1946 from Kenosha, Wisconsin. He had worked as a butcher, painter, sang with barber shop quartets and worked with the Senior Citizens at the Washington Adult Center. Survivors include his wife, M. Elizabeth; children, Mary Elizabeth Taylor, Janet Howard, Thomas, Jr., Edward L., Gerald J. and Robert P.; a brother; three sisters; 22 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. HANNEY, Irene M.

Irene M. Hanney, 78, who had been head resident at Arizona State University's Wilson Hall from 1953 to 1967, died Oct. 15, 1979, in her home at 8611 N. 67th Ave. Mrs. Hanney moved to Phoenix in 1949 from Florida and had been a member of the First Baptist Church in Hiawatha, KS. Surviving are her children, Joan Wierson and Jack A.; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

HANSON, Albert "Bert"

Albert "Bert" Hanson, 90, who had owned Hanson Pump & Machine Co. in Phoenix from 1911 until retiring in 1945, died Oct. 24, 1979, in Doctors Hospital. Mr. Hanson was a member of Silver Trowel Masonic Lodge 29, El Zaribah Shrine, Royal Order of Jesters, the Scottish Rite, Temple Guard and a charter member of Grace Lutheran Church. Survivors include his wife, Mildred S., son, Norman H.; stepdaughter, Betty Jane Farrow; five grandchildren; two sisters and two brothers. Fri., Oct. 26, 1979.

HARGER, Leota M.

Scottsdale --- Services for Leota M. Harger, 75, who died Oct. 18, 1979, in Scottsdale Memorial Hospital, were in Los Arcos United Methodist Church. Mrs. Harger was a member of the Salvation Army Auxiliary and Valley of the Sun Garden Club. She moved here in 1959 from Iowa. Surviving are her daughters, Kay Picard, Marlene E. HARTLEY, Dr. Leslie Earle

Dr. Leslie Earle Hartley, 84, a professor of philosophy who last worked with the Ford Foundation, died Sept. 30, 1979, in Hillhaven Nursing Center. Dr. Hartley received his masters degree at the University of Arizona and his doctorate at the University of Colorado. He moved to Phoenix 30 years ago from Idaho and is survived by his wife, Mary Lou; and a brother. Gravesides services were in Greenwood Memorial Park, 2300 W. Van Buren. 5 Oct 1979

Lupie L. Hartman, 82, a homemaker who lived in Arizona since 1905, died Oct. 20, 1979, in her home after a long illness. Mrs. Hartman is survived by her children, Betty J. HARTZELL, Albert

Services for Albert B. Hartzell, 79, who died Oct. 29, 1979, in St. Joseph's Hospital, were in Green Acres Mortuary, 401 N. Hayden, Scottsdale. Mr. Hartzell was a former high school and adult education teacher and real estate broker in California. He served as a chief petty officer in the Navy and was a Scottish Rite Mason. Ann R. Hash, a former opera singer with the Gamitte Opera Co. of Paris, died July 2, 1979, in Scottsdale Memorial Hospital. Mrs. HASH, 3550 E. Campbell, moved here in 1963 from California. She is survived by husband, Otto; daughter, Helen Maxine HUTCHINSON; a grandchild, and a sister. Private cremation was arranged at Paradise Chapel Funeral Home. Della Mae Hasper, 75, died Oct. 13, 1979, in Good Samaritan Hospital. Mrs. Hasper had lived most of her 34 years in Arizona at Avondale. She and her husband had been in the home rental business. Survivors include her husband, Rolland J.; daughter, Wanda Smith; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and a gr-great-grandson. HATCH, Zina Brinkerhoff

Mesa -- Zina Brinkerhoff Hatch, 84, who was born in Tuba City and had been an Arizona Temple worker the past 20 years in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, died Oct. 17, 1979, in Mesa General Hospital. Mrs. Hatch, 511 E. Third Ave., had been a genealogist and her quilts had won prizes at Arizona State Fairs. Survivors include her children, Ila Lloyd, Inez Gardner, Grace Pulsipher, Aleen Scorse, Janell Ferguson, Vyria Cook, Gerald, A. Dell, John, Orland, Frank and Lorin; three sisters, four brothers; 76 grandchildren and 140 great-grandchildren. Friends may call in the LDS 11th Ward Chapel, 316 S. Lesueur. Sun City -- Carl V. Haupenthal, 66, died Oct. 15, 1979, in Boswell Hospital. Mr. Haupenthal moved here in 1972 from Rochester, N.Y., where he had been a battalion chief of the Fire Department.
