SKINNER, Joseph

Services and burial for Joseph Ray Skinner, 25, a plasterer and layout fitter, were in Warren, Ohio. Mr. Skinner, 1718 E. Campbell Ave., was shot to death Tuesday near Scottsdale. A suspect in the shooting has been arrested, according to sheriff's deputies. He had no local survivors, Universal Memorial Center announced. The Arizona Republic June 23, 1974.

Smith, 86, a nationally known librarian and author and founder of the Cave Creek branch of the Maricopa County Library named in her honor, died Saturday, June 15, 1974, in thehome of a friend, Edith Rawlings. Miss Smith completed her library training at Mather College of Western Reserve University in her native Cleveland and earned a master's degre at Columbua University in New York. SPEREKAS, Marjorie Kramer

Marjorie (Marge) Kramer Sperekas, 87, died peacefully December 31, 2007. She was born in New York City and moved with her parents to Chicago when a young child. She married Peter Sperekas in 1941 and had two children. They were long-time members of Congregation Beth Israel. An early interest in computers led Marge to take classes in computer programming and she worked in the field as a programmer for many years. In later years, she helped businesses computerize. Marge is survived by her daughters, Loren (Marc) Burke and Nicole Sperekas, and grandchildren Samuel Burke and Jacob Burke. Funeral services were held at Sinai Mortuary with Rabbi Martin Scharf officiating. George H. Stell, 50, and his son, Gregory A. Stell, 22, were killed in a tanker plane crash while fighting a fire Thursday, June 27, 1974, in the Safford area. Both were pilots and the son worked the past eight years for his father who owned Stell Aviation Co. in Phoenix. The company flew contract missions for the Forest Service when chemicals were dropped to slow the spread of fires. Mr. Stell's survivors include daughters, Patricia West and Brenda Stell; his father, Henry; brothers, William and Edward; and a sister, Ann Bennett.
