Mrs. Sadie Ruth Cadwallader, 75, retired school teacher, died Tuesday, Jan. 12, 1960, in St. Joseph's Hospital. Born in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, she came to Arizona 22 years ago. CAIN, John Francis

Prescott -- The body of John Francis Cain, 45, will be sent to Phoenix for services and burial. Mr. Cain died yesterday, 31 Dec 1959, while visiting friends here. Born in New York, he had lived in Arizona 13 years. His Phoenix home was at 3424 N. 51st St. A government accountant, at one time he was employed at Luke Air Force Base. He is survived by his wife, Jane; a daughter, Patricia, Phoenix; a sister and two brothers, all living out of state. The Arizona Republic Friday, January 1, 1960.

CALLAS, Thomas D.

Rosary for Thomas D. Callas, 62, will be recited today in the Cole and Maude Mortuary. Funeral services will be in the mortuary tomorrow. Mr. Callas died Tuesday, January 19, 1960, in the hospital at San Manuel. Born in Greece, he lived in Arizona 56 years. He had lived in the Oracle area 28 years. CAMPBELL, Don E.

Don Edward CAMPBELL, World War II veteran and resident of Arizona 22 years, died Thursday January 28, 1960, in the Phoenix Veterans Administration Hospital. He was 57. Mr. Campbell was a native of Randell County, Texas. He had been an accountant, both self-employed and for Luke Air Force Base. His home was at 340 W. Glendale Ave., Glendale. Survivors are two stepsons, Francis L. PATTERSON, Phoenix, and Kenneth W. PATTERSON, Fort Huachuca; two brothers and a sister, all out of state; and eight grandchildren. CARMEN, Faith

Glendale -- Mrs. Faith Carmen, 83, Arizona resident six years, died Tuesday, Jan. 12, 1960, in her home. A native of Christchurch, New Zealand, Mrs. Carmen spent much of her childhood in Arizona and Massachusetts. She was a member of the third graduating class of Flagstaff Teachers College. After her husband's death in 1914, she taught school in Santa Cruz County and spent many years teaching in the Peoria system. She was a Glendale resident 46 years. Services in the First Methodist Church. Private burial services were at Glendale Memorial Park. Brazill-Whitney Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. She is survived by a son, Charles, San Pedro, California; two sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Rouse and Mrs. Sidney Hardman, both of Glendale; and a brother, Alan Kendrick, Albuquerque, N. M. Mrs. Naomi S. Carpenter, Arizona resident for 40 years, died January 8, 1960, in her home at 4139 N. 21st St. Mrs. Carpenter, a native of Mills City, Iowa, came to Phoenix 30 years ago after residing 10 years in Morenci. She was associated for 25 years in the office machine and liquid gas business at 144 N. First St. with her husband. She retired in 1951. Surviving are her husband, F. T. Carpenter; two daughters, Mrs. Ruth C. Vaginas, Garden Grove, Calif., and May Carpenter, Santa Ana, Calif.; a son, Francis T., Jr., Phoenix; two sisters, Mrs. Martha Shook, Phoenix, and Mrs. Esther O'Dell, Richmond, Calif.; a brother, Charles S. CARTMILL, Johnson (Uncle Jack)

Avondale -- Johnson (Uncle Jack) Cartmill, 92, died Tuesday, December 29, 1959, in a hospital here. His home was 256 S. Seventh St., Avondale. He had lived in Avondale since 1934. Born in Omaha, Nebraska, he had worked in Tulsa, Oklahoma, before moving to Arizona. He was a watchmaker. Mr. Cartmill had represented the character of Billy Moore in the Billy Moore Days celebration held here annually. Services will be at 10 a.m. tomorrow in the Cannon Mortuary here. Frank O. Chase, 76, retired assistant personnel Manager for Reynolds Metals Co., a native of Iowa, moved to Phoenix 37 years ago from Salem, S. D. He was a member of Silver Trowel Lodge of the Masons and was a 32nd Degree Mason. Survived by wife, Roberta; son, LaVerne CHASE of Howard, S. D.; stepson Robert F. CHESHIRE, Claude C.

Claude C. Cheshire, 71, widely known Flagstaff business man and former mayor of Nogales, died Friday night, January 29, 1960, while vacationing in Phoenix. He was 71. Mr. Cheshire suffered an apparent heart attack while dining with friends at a restaurant. He died 15 minutes later. Born in Oregon, Mr. Cheshire moved to Nogales and opened an automobile agency in 1924. He served as Nogales mayor from 1937 to 1939. Mr. Cheshire sold his agency to his brother, Roy, in 1940 and moved to Flagstaff. He operated an agency in Flagstaff and Williams until his death. He was active in civic affairs in both Nogales and Flagstaff. Funeral arrangements are incomplete. Survivors include his wife, Mary Margaret; two sons, Presley, of Yakima, Washington; and Charles D., Winslow; a daughter, Mrs. James GOLSARRY, Holbrook; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. CLARK, Dr. Curry Carroll

Douglas -- Funeral services for Dr. Curry Carroll Clark, 65, a Douglas dentist who died Sunday, Jan. 24, 1960, in Douglas Hospital, were at St. Stephens Episcopal Church. Dr. Clark was born in Norris City, Illinois, and attended dental college in Portland, Oregon, after serving in World War I. He opened an office in Mesa in 1925, moving to Douglas two years later. He was a member of the American Legion and past president and charter member of the Douglas Lions Club, the Elks Lodge, and the Masonic Lodge in Seattle, Washington. Survivors include his wife, Pauline; two daughters, Mrs. Alice B. Couch, Gardena, Calif., and Mrs. Vivian Jo Noble, Clarksville, Tennessee; two brothers, Jack C. Funeral services and burial for Mrs. Emma Elizabeth Cobb, 70, who died late Saturday (January 1, 1960) in the home of a son, Irving E. Cobb, 1019 E. Whitton, in Scottsdale, will be in Walpole, Massachusetts, her former home. Messinger Mortuary and Chapel, 513 E. Indian School, Scottsdale, announced. Services will be held Friday in the Epiphany Church. Mrs. Cobb, born in Canon, Massachusetts, came to Scottsdale 5 1/2 years ago from Walpole, where she was a member of the Altar Guild of Epiphany Episcopal Church. She was active in other branches of church work. Besides the son in Scottsdale, she is survived by three other sons, Everett E., Phoenix, and Leroy N., and Lawrence E., both of Walpole; a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy McKenna, Walpole, a brother and three sisters in the East; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. COBB, Leonard Ray

Coolidge -- Funeral services for Leonard Ray Cobb, 23, were at the Cole and Maud Mortuary. Burial in Valley Memorial Park. Mr. Cobb died Jan. 4, 1960, in San Diego, California, of injuries received in an automobile accident. He came to Coolidge with his parents in 1937 and attended Kenilworth School. At the time of his death he was employed at Convair Aircraft in San Diego. He served in the air force from 1954 to 1957. Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lenard Cobb, Sanger, California; two brothers, Delbert, with the armed services and Glenn of Sanger; two sisters, Frances and Bonnie, both of Sanger; his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. T.
