O'BRIAN, Alfe T., Dr.

Miami -- Funeral services for Dr. Alfe T. O'Brian, 69, who died Saturday, January 2, 1960, in the Phoenix Veterans Administration Hospital, will be Thursday in Miles Mortuary chapel here. Arizona Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements in Phoenix. Dr. O'Brian, who had practiced medicine in Phoenix, Eloy, and Miami since 1935 in Arizona, came to Phoenix in 1929 from Colorado. He was a World War I veteran, serving with the marine corps, which he joined before the war broke out. Wounded in 1918, he was awarded the Purple Heart as well as the Croix de Guerre by France. Dr. O'Brian, born in Pasadena, California, was a graduate of the medical college of Taylor University in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He was a member of Post 1441, Veterans of Foreign Wars, in Miami. He helped organize Post 6306 of the VFW in Eloy. He also was a member of the Arizona Blind Association. He is survied by his wife, Elizabeth, of Miami. The Arizona Republic Tuesday, January 5, 1960.

O'BRIEN, Alice M.

Funeral services for Alice M. O'Brien, 67, who died Sunday, Jan. 10, 1960, in Good Samaritan Hospital, were in Mercer Mortuary. Malcolm Bayley officiated. Burial in Greenwood Memorial Park. Mrs. O'Brien came to Phoenix 14 years ago from Ohio. She is survived by her husband, James; two sons, James and Robert, both of Phoenix; a sister, Mrs. Francis Greer, Youngtown, and nine grandchildren. The AZ Republic 12 Jan 1960.

ODGERS, Frederick, 81

Miami -- Funeral services for Frederick Odgers, 81, who died Jan. 11, 1960, in Gila General Hospital in Miles Chapel. Burial in Pinal Cemetery. Born in Cornwall, England, he had lived in Arizona 55 years and in Miami 37 years. He was in the trucking business from 1923 until last July. He is survived by his wife, Blanche; a son, Jimmy, and a daughter, Mary Beth Odgers, both of Miami; and a sister, Mrs. Amelia Drooking, Boston, Massachusetts. 13 Jan 1960.
