Andrew
Lewis Yearout, 93 of Floyd, passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2024. He
is preceded in death by his daughter, Paula Yearout Willis; and brother,
Curtis Yearout.
He served
in the US Army and received the Army’s Bronze Star Medal for his leadership
and bravery during war. He retired from the RAAP. He enjoyed sitting with
old time friends and reminiscing.
He is
survived by his wife of 64 years, Zelda “Inez” Yearout; son, Lewis “Dale”
Yearout; granddaughter, Brandy Ballinger (Johnny); great-grandchildren,
Emma, Carson, and Shaun Ballinger; sister, Virginia Yearout Williams; and
numerous nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on
Thursday, February 8, 2024 in the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor
Allen Agee officiating. Interment will follow in the Jacksonville Cemetery
with Military Rites by Floyd VFW Post #7854, American Legion Post #127, and
the Army National Guard. The family will receive friends from Noon until 2
p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Carol Ann (Dayle) Yearout, 79, of Floyd, passed away
on December 29, 2021. She was preceded in death by her husband of 33
years, Ralph Yearout.
She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Monty and Suzanne Yearout;
two granddaughters, Caroline and Jordan; three sisters, Mildred DeHart,
Betty Nolen, and twin sister, Gayle Harman; two brothers, Robert Agee and
Jack Agee; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held on Tuesday January 4, 2022, at 1 p.m. at
Jacksonville cemetery with Pastor Timothy Hale officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Floyd Co. Rescue Squad.

WILLIAMSBURG - Virgie M. Young, 90, a native of
Floyd County, Va., and a resident of Williamsburg for 57 years, departed
this life Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2003, in her home.
Granny (Virgie Young) was a complete optimist.
She welcomed every day and lived it to the fullest. Never a discouraging
or a complaining word did she utter. She lived independently until her
death at home. That was the only way she would have it. She will be
missed by her many friends and relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry
L. Young Sr.; two sons, Curtis W. Lee and Harry L. Young Jr.; six
brothers and sisters; and a grandson, Ronald O. Lee.
Mrs. Young is survived by her son, Roy D. Young
and his wife, Carolyn, of Yorktown; daughter, Mary Y. Benson and her
husband, Melvin, of Severna Park, Md.; daughters-in-law, Mildred Young
and Marianna Lee, both of Williamsburg; 11 grandchildren, Susan Hutchens,
Charles Young, Douglas Young and Cheri Lyons, all of Williamsburg, Mike
Lee of Winchester, Leslie Davis of Wilmington, N.C., David Young of
Richmond, Kevin Young of Yorktown, Julie Young of Newport News, Stephen
Benson of Eldersburg, Md., Eric Benson of Maryland; and 20
great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Young was a member of Lebanon Church of
Christ for 10 years, and was a member of Williamsburg Christian Church
for 30 years.
The family will receive friends 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 4, at Nelsen
Funeral Home, where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, the Rev.
David Faith and the Rev. David Hileman presiding. Interment Williamsburg
Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions may be made to the
Williamsburg Christian Church.
