Lillie Alma, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, February 16, 2002 at the
age of 105. Formerly of Roanoke, Va., she was residing at the Richfield
Nursing Center in Salem, Va. She
was a native of Floyd, Va. born to Susan and John Moran on Christmas Day
1896. A celebration of her 100th birthday was held at the Oaks with over 75
family and friends attending. She was congratulated with a certificate from
President Clinton and a birthday letter from TV personality, Willard Scott. She
was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Waller Lancaster; a son, Herbert
Master Lancaster; one daughter-in-law, Leonora Lancaster, wife to son, Otis;
and one great-grandson. Surviving
is one son, Otis W. Lancaster of Fredericksburg, Va.;
daughter-in-law, Gwynn T. Lancaster of Roanoke, wife to son, Herbert. She had
six grandchildren, Lauonne Napier of Auburn, Wash.,
Steve Lancaster of Spotsylvania, Va., Donna Graves of Mooresville, N.C., Joyce
Thompson of Roanoke, Gary M. Lancaster of Richmond, and Karen Schrader of
Chesapeake, Va. Also surviving are 14 great-grandchildren; three step great
grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. Other surviving relatives
include one brother, Dexter Moran of Floyd and one sister, Virgie Young of
Williamsburg, Va. as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Lillie was
a long time member of Belmont Baptist Church and later Oakland Baptist
Church. Funeral
services will be held Monday, February 18, 2002 at 2 p.m. at the Lotz Salem Chapel with interment in Sherwood Memorial

and presently was a member of Stonewall Primitive Baptist Church in Floyd

Moran was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Flick Moran, and is survived by
his daughter, Pauline M. (Polly) Barbour, Roanoke; his sons, John D. Moran,
Allen R. Moran and James H. Moran, all of Roanoke; his brother, Dexter Moran,
Christiansburg; his sisters, Lillie M. Lancaster, Salem, and Virgie M. Young,
Williamsburg. Also surviving are five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren
and several nieces and nephews. Funeral
services will be conducted at Lotz Roanoke Chapel 2
p.m. Tuesday, August 6, 1996. Interment to follow in Sherwood Memorial Park.

- Virgie M. Young, 90, a native of Floyd County, Va., and a resident of
Williamsburg for 57 years, departed this life Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2003, in
her home. Granny
(Virgie Young) was a complete optimist. She welcomed every day and lived it
to the fullest. Never a discouraging or a complaining word did she utter. She
lived independently until her death at home. That was the only way she would
have it. She will be missed by her many friends and relatives. She
was preceded in death by her husband, Harry L. Young Sr.; two sons, Curtis W.
Lee and Harry L. Young Jr.; six brothers and sisters; and a grandson, Ronald
O. Lee. Mrs.
Young is survived by her son, Roy D. Young and his wife, Carolyn, of
Yorktown; daughter, Mary Y. Benson and her husband, Melvin, of Severna Park,
Md.; daughters-in-law, Mildred Young and Marianna Lee, both of Williamsburg;
11 grandchildren, Susan Hutchens, Charles Young, Douglas Young and Cheri
Lyons, all of Williamsburg, Mike Lee of Winchester, Leslie Davis of
Wilmington, N.C., David Young of Richmond, Kevin Young of Yorktown, Julie
Young of Newport News, Stephen Benson of Eldersburg, Md., Eric Benson of
Maryland; and 20 great-grandchildren. Mrs.
Young was a member of Lebanon Church of Christ for 10 years and was a member
of Williamsburg Christian Church for 30 years. The
