MERCED, Jan. 6 – The body of the Rev. Charles M. Yearout former minister of the Merced and Fresno Church of the Brethren who died in a Santa Cruz hospital on Monday was to arrive here Thursday morning for funeral services scheduled for 1 o'clock this afternoon. The Rev. Leo Miller of Fresno was to officiate with burial to follow in the family plot in Asphodel Cemetery. Services were to be held at the James & Ivers Chapel.

Three years ago, the Rev. Mr. Yearout left the local church to take over a pastorate in Fresno. For the last three weeks he had been ill in Santa Cruz and died this week at the age of 73 years. Shortly after he left Merced the local Church of the Brethren became inactive.

The widow Mrs. Lillie Yearout of Fresno and two sons, F. A. Yearout of Fresno and Gordon C. Yearout of Boulder, Colorado, survive.

Mrs. Lillie Yearout, 80, Dies Of Sudden Illness

Mrs. Lillie G. Yearout, 80, of 2201 Calaveras Street, the mother of Floyd A. Yearout, the district manager of the California Cotton Oil Corporations, died last night in a local hospital after a sudden illness.

Mrs. Yearout came to Fresno to live about a year and a half ago from Santa Cruz where she had resided for many years. She was a native of Illinois.

She was a member of the Fresno Church of the Brethren.

Other survivors include three grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by the Lisle Funeral Home.

Surviving are two daughters and a son-in-law, Mattie Harris of Riner, Ruth and Charles Gathercole of Newport; two sons and daughters-in-law, Bob and Gerri Yearout of Jacksonville Beach, Fla., Ted and Beulah Yearout of Riner; son-in-law, James H. Ted Pearson Yearout, 66, of Riner, Va., went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 25, 2008, at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. He was a member of Word of Truth Baptist Church. He was retired from Lynchburg Foundry with 37 years of service. He was born May 14, 1941, to the late Foster and Peasie Yearout. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Y. Dickerson and two infant brothers. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Beulah Radford Yearout, Riner, Va.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ron and Joyce Yearout, Willis, Va., and Don and Cathy Yearout, Christiansburg, Va. He was blessed with six wonderful grandchildren, William, Kieffer, and Cameron Yearout, Willis, Va., and Molly, Ben and Abby Yearout, Christiansburg, Va.; brother and sister-in-law, Bobby and Gerry Yearout, of Blacksburg, Va.; sisters and brother-in-law, Ruth Y. and Charles Gathercole Jr., Newport, Va., and Mattie Y. Harris, Riner, Va.; mother-in-law, Orpha Radford, Blue Ridge Nursing Center, Stuart, Va.; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 27, 2008, at Gardner Funeral Home with the Rev. Lee Shelton officiating. Interment will follow in Beaver Creek Church Cemetery. Elsie Yearout Spangler, 93, of Floyd, died peacefully at home Thursday, January 15, 2015. In addition to being a faithful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she was a life-long member of the Red Oak Grove Church of the Brethren where she served as Deaconess and member of the choir. In the 1970's she and her sister co-owned the Village Square Restaurant where she made many cherished friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Velvo L. Spangler; her parents, the Rev. William and Dora Naff Yearout; and her eleven siblings.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Doris and Bill Lawrence, of Floyd; grandchildren, Joan and Kevin Daggett, of Bridgewater, Steve Lawrence and C. W. Markham III, of Floyd; great-grandchildren, Faith, Katelyn and Emily Daggett, of Bridgewater; sister in laws, Alma Yearout, of Floyd, Betty Keith, of Holland Michigan; brother-in-law, Sam Spangler; many special nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Red Oak Grove Church of the Brethren with the Rev. Jimmy Cannady, the Rev. Heborn Quesenberry and the Rev. Kevin Daggett officiating. Interment will follow in Jacksonville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, January 16, 2015 at Gardner Funeral Home in Floyd. Clarence Elbert Yearout, 78, of Floyd, died Tuesday night, September 21, 2004 at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and was retired from Farmers Supply in Floyd, where he served many years as store manager. He was a faithful member of the Red Oak Grove Church of the Brethren, serving as deacon for over fifty years. He was a member of the Floyd County Chapter of the Gideons International. Beside his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Tazwell, David, and James Yearout and his sisters Mary and Celesta Yearout, Annie Pugh, Ella Wade Vest, Catherine Webb and Martha Shelor. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Alma Moran Yearout of Floyd; three daughters, Annette Yearout of Goodlettesville, Tenn., Janice Yearout-Patton and husband, Michael Patton of Floyd, and Rebecca Yearout Eggleston and husband, Randy, of Roanoke; two grandchildren, Erin Yearout-Patton of Pearisburg and Elliot Yearout-Patton of Grenaa, Denmark; sister and brother-in-law, Elsie and Velvo Spangler of Floyd; sister-in-law, Anna Bell Yearout of Troutville; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Charles A. Yearout, 26 yo of Christiansburg

Miss Smith & Yearout were injured fatally Sunday afternoon in a motorcycle accident a mile west of Elliston in Montgomery County. Both died in Christiansburg hospital several hours after the accident.

State Trooper R. L. Chew said that a preliminary investigation indicated that Miss Smith & Yearout, on a motorcycle in attempting to pass a truck, struck the side of an automobile driven by James C. Marin, 24, of Ironto. Martin suffered minor injuries in the crash.

Hazel Yearout Rouse, 89, of Christiansburg, passed away on November 23, 2013. She was born July 20, 1924 to the late Charles B. & Lula (Sweeney) Yearout.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Frank E. Rouse Jr.; siblings, Elizabeth Yearout, Mary Baker, Willie Mae Brown, Edmond Yearout and Walter Yearout. 

She is survived by her son, Stephen Rouse; grandson Nathaniel Rouse; granddaughter, Peyton Ferguson; and several nieces and nephews. 

Funeral service will be at 1:30 on Sunday, December 1, 2013, at Christiansburg Baptist Church with Rev. Sean Couch officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery.
