Dale
Whittington Gallimore, 71, of Willis, passed over Friday, August 9, 1996 at
his home.
A radio personality and entertainer, he was known to many by his radio
character "Farmer Dale". Mr. Gallimore was a broadcaster for over
fifty years, working in many of the radio stations in the region. He
founded WHHV radio station in Hillsville and radio station WGFC in Floyd.
He was a past commander of the Grover King V.F.W. Post in Hillsville.
Survivors include his wife, Marie Vaughn Gallimore, of the home; two sons,
Anthony V. (Tony) Gallimore, Gerald W. Gallimore, both of Willis; one
brother, Gray W. Gallimore, Manasquan, N.J.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel
in Floyd, with the Rev. Clyde Earles, the Rev. Graham Mitchell and the Rev.
Bryan Childress officiating. Burial will be in the Vaughn-Hylton Cemetery,
Willis, with military honors by Grover King V.F.W. Post #1115. The family
will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Maberry Funeral Home.
Marie Vaughn
Gallimore, of Willis, died Wednesday, January 31, 2007 following a decade long
battle with cancer.
Marie was a
musician and entertainer with a lifetime of experience in music and radio
broadcasting. Well known in the local old time and country music circles,
Marie had been playing with the Mountain Ivy Band prior to the last round
of illness. Involved in broadcasting since 1961, she was one of the
founders of Radio Station WGFC in Floyd. From her first professional
performances singing as "Dixie Lee" in the 1950's to playing
doghouse and electric bass with her husband and several bands, she was a
trooper. She was born April 23, 1928 to Bethel Martin Vaughn and Laura Emma
Harris Vaughn.
She was
preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, radio personality
"Farmer Dale", Dale Whittington Gallimore and her siblings, Posey
Vaughn, Howard Vaughn, Belva McGuire and Eva Lorton.
Surviving are
her two sons, Anthony (Tony) Gallimore and Gerald Gallimore, both of
Willis; nephews, Richard McGuire, William (Tom) Vaughn, and Posey (Frank)
Vaughn; and nieces, Barbara Harris, Catherine Pauley, Betty Perry, Carolyn
Weddle and Linda Sauvageau.
A memorial
service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 3, 2007 at the Maberry
Funeral Home Chapel, Floyd. Interment will follow at the Hylton-Vaughn
Cemetery at 2912 Burks Fork Road in Willis.

Shane was born in Charlotte, North Carolina on March 24, 1979 to the late
Campbell Eugene and Deanna Lynn Hess Harris.
He is survived by his wife Wendy Harris; children Ashley Turner; Tristan
Turner; Morgan Taylor and Gracie Harris; step-children Christopher Shaffner; Hunter Shaffner and
Kaitlyn Shaffner; brother and sister-in-law
Jonathan and India Harris.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, June 24, 2015 in the Vaughan-Hylton
Cemetery in Willis, Va. with Minister Jason Simpkins officiating.

Hess, 90, of Galax, Virginia passed away Monday, July 14, 2014 at Twin
County
Regional
Hospital. She was born February 12, 1924 to the late Ed and Ida Vaughn in
Willis, VA.
In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband,
James Walter Hess; daughter, Deanna Lynn Harris; brothers, Freeman, Archie
and Herman; sister, Rena.
Survivors include son, Danny Hess and wife, Bee of Greer, South Carolina;
seven grandchildren, Jim, Melissa, Jennifer, Angela, Amanda, Shane and
Johnathan; 13 great grandchildren; numerous other family members also survive.
A Funeral Service will be held Sunday, July 20, 2014 at Twin County
Funerals Sanctuary
beginning at
2pm. Pastor Terry Vaughan will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hylton-
Vaughn
Cemetery, Willis, VA. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the
service, 1pm
until 2pm

August 25, 2010, Ruby Minta Alderman Vaughn Lorton, 91, of Willis, Va.,
passed into the loving arms of Jesus Christ. Ruby was born on August 17,
1919. She grew up on Burks Fork Creek near Willis, Va., and spent most of
her life "up and down" the creek in the light of the Gracious God
Almighty. Shortly before Ruby passed away she said, "I don't know who
is the happiest, the one you make happy, or you because you made the one
happy." Ruby lived her life in a way that brought happiness to all
those she met along her life journey.
Those waiting
for her across the veil are her parents, Shepherd Adi Alderman and Arbelia
Sumner Alderman; brothers, Moyer Lee Alderman and Ellis Linsey Alderman;
beloved aunt, Arminta Catherine Alderman Keith; the love of her youth and
first husband, Posey G. Vaughn; beloved in-laws, Bethel Martin Vaughn and
Laura Emma Harris Vaughn, Belva and Newell McGuire, Eva Lorton, Howard and
Gwendolyn Vaughn, and Marie and Dale Gallimore; son-in-law, Kenneth Ray
Pauley; step son-in-law, Gary Weddle; daughter-in-law, Nancy Dickerson

He was born in
Radford, Va. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Eva Vaughan Lorton;
wife, Ruby Vaughn Lorton; brothers & sisters-in-law, Willard &
Alberta Lorton, Lawrence Lorton, and Jack & Betty Lorton; and sisters
& brothers-in-law, Vivian & Butch Breazeale, Earnestine &
Robert Bond, and Mildred & Griff Griffith.
Stanley was a World War II Veteran that served overseas on the front lines
as ammunition carrier for the Army.
He is survived by his daughters & son-in-law, Carolyn Weddle, Linda
Sauvageau, and Betty & Chris Perry; step-children, Frank Vaughn,
Catherine Pauley, and Tom Vaughn; grandchildren, Lynn & Terri Weddle,
Lee & Anette Weddle, Alan & Darlene Sauvageau, Ryan & Lindsey

2018.
David is survived by his wife of 52 years, Nancy H. Vaughn; one daughter,
Janice Bolton and husband, Mark; four sons, David A. Vaughn and wife,
Angela, Glen G. Vaughn, Gary L. Vaughn and wife, Lexi, Mark E. Vaughn and
wife, Jessica; eleven grandchildren, Lyndsey, Joshua, Travis, Brandon,
Marissa, Ella, Austin, Macie, David, Ashley, and Nevaeh; and one sister,
Joanne Wright and husband Ronnie.
He served in the Army and was a diesel mechanic for John Deere.
His parents, Garver and Minnie Vaughn, and two brothers, Gene and Earl
Vaughn preceded him in death.
A funeral service will be held Friday, June 29, 2018 at 11 a.m. with
visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. at Welch Funeral Home-Marks Chapel.
A private interment will be held at the Hylton-Vaughn Family Cemetery in
Willis, Virginia.

She was cherished by her children, grandchildren and friends and will be
greatly missed. She was a homemaker, farmer, and also a life-time member of
the Buffalo Mt. Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her

daughter, Jo Ann Wright and husband Ronnie of Lynchburg, VA.;

He is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law Timothy and Elizabeth
Vaughan of Martinsville, Virginia; Josh and Patricia Vaughan of Galax,
Virginia; Jon and Karen Vaughan of Hillsville, Virginia; brother and
sister-in-law Terry and Connie Vaughan of Woodlawn, Virginia; seven
grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday at 2:00 PM in the Hylton-Vaughn
Cemetery in Willis, Virginia with the Rev. Terry Vaughan officiating. There
will be no visitation at the funeral home. Mask and Social Distancing will
be required at the graveside service.

On Wednesday,
August 25, 2010, Ruby Minta Alderman Vaughn Lorton, 91, of Willis, Va.,
passed into the loving arms of Jesus Christ. Ruby was born on August 17,
1919. She grew up on Burks Fork Creek near Willis, Va., and spent most of
her life "up and down" the creek in the light of the Gracious God
Almighty. Shortly before Ruby passed away she said, "I don't know who
is the happiest, the one you make happy, or you because you made the one
happy." Ruby lived her life in a way that brought happiness to all those
she met along her life journey.
Those waiting
for her across the veil are her parents, Shepherd Adi Alderman and Arbelia
Sumner Alderman; brothers, Moyer Lee Alderman and Ellis Linsey Alderman;
beloved aunt, Arminta Catherine Alderman Keith; the love of her youth and
first husband, Posey G. Vaughn; beloved in-laws, Bethel Martin Vaughn and
Laura Emma Harris Vaughn, Belva and Newell McGuire, Eva Lorton, Howard and
Gwendolyn Vaughn, and Marie and Dale Gallimore; son-in-law, Kenneth Ray
Pauley; step son-in-law, Gary Weddle; daughter-in-law, Nancy Dickerson
