Mrs. Hartman was born Sept. 5, 1921 in Casstown, OH, a daughter of Homer B. and Mary Effie (Butterbaugh) Weddle. She married Paul Hartman on Nov. 23, 1946 in Liberty Mills, IN. Mrs. Hartman was a homemaker and also worked over her lifetime at Schacht Rubber Co. and the Smith Furniture Store in Huntington. She was a member of the Huntington Church of the Brethren where she served as a life-long deaconess. She was a 1939 graduate of Chester Township High School in North Manchester, IN. She is survived by her husband, Paul; daughters Mrs. Sam (Marilyn) Hyde of Fort Wayne, Mrs. William (Carol) Donnelly and Mrs. Edward (Nancy) Smith, both of Huntington; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Benjamin Hyde, and two brothers and a sister. Funeral service was held Friday, Nov. 1, at Myers Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford St., Huntington, IN with Pastor Ken Rieman officiating. Interment was at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in North Manchester. He was born February 27, 1921 in Indiana and was the son of Charles Mark and Amelia (Hergenreder) Weddle. He graduated from high school in Muncie, IN and attended Cedarville College. Mark retired from the Clark County Engineer's Office where, for 35 years, he loved designing and building bridges. He was also a registered surveyor in the state of Ohio. After retiring, he enjoyed photography, woodworking and farming.
